Consider this a rewrite of Kingdom Hearts: Origins which was a rewrite itself. Hopefully I can stick to it this time. Please R&R.
The great force known as the Darkness was spread across throughout the worlds overcoming them with the power of the Heartless; they would find the Keyhole of the world and then consume the world. While this was going on, an alliance of villains from various worlds seeking to use the Invasion to find the way to Kingdom Hearts and rule all.
The Light had its own champions in those who bear the Key, there weren't many left but there existed others who could be called upon with strong hearts. Those determined to be worthy of the Key such as a boy who dreamed of seeing the worlds and would use it to protect his friends including his slightly younger best friends.
But Destiny has a way of being challenged such as when those predetermined would be led stray of their course...
Destiny Islands, an island village in the middle of the sea where there were countless families and children there. Many of the children and teenagers liked to play at the beach near the village. Several young teenagers had been gathering together materials to put together a raft, hoping that they could use it to sail and explore the world outside their island. An idea that had been inspired by stories of pirates and adventurers that they had heard growing up.
The pink dress wearing short red haired 14 year old daughter of the village's mayor Kairi was cheering for her two best friends as she and the other friends in the group were taking a break to watch the two have a wooden sword duel. There was the 15 year old light purple haired boy in a yellow sleeveless shirt and dark blue pants Riku fighting against Sora the 14 year old spiky brown haired boy in red attire along with a black and white jacket.
Riku grinned as he took Sora down with him dropping the wooden sword that he was using, "Lost again Sora." Riku told Sora smugly as he extended a hand to help the unhappy looking Sora up.
"You got lucky Riku; next time I will get beat you!" Sora muttered with Kairi laughing while shaking her head along with the others. Sora was always challenging Riku to races and wooden sword duels with Sora usually losing and kept on wanting a rematch.
"You keep saying that but you keep losing, one of these days you might just have to accept that I am much better than you." Riku taunted Sora with an air of superiority to him to which made Sora grunt. "Should be why when we get this raft up and running, you should let me take the lead of the journey." Riku told him as Sora glared at him.
"Take it easy on Sora, Riku. He just needs encouragement and practice." Kairi chided him as he came in closer and Sora shook his head as the other friends came up to tell him that he did well as well which made him feel better. Riku muttered about them coddling him as Kairi said "okay, how about we call it a day and we come back to this tomorrow" They agreed and everyone went their separate ways.
Sora grumbled as walked past the waterfall but saw a figure go inside, curiously he went to the cave that he knew was inside the waterfall and was stunned to see a door there and he was sure that it was never there before. He went over and tried to open it but found it locked tight it refusing to budge. He then was taken aback when he was greeted by a taller girl 15 year old girl in an abaya and hijab giving a friendly smile.
"Please forgive me for startling you but I am new here and I discovered this place as well and I was unable to open the door myself. I'm Jasmine and I am quite new here." The girl introduced herself with a bow and Sora returned with a smile of his own and held out his hand which he took.
"I'm Sora and welcome to Destiny Islands, did you come here by boat or raft because my friends and I plan to sail the seas soon together." Sora said introduced himself and she smiled at his enthusiasm. "Gets kind of boring around here on the Islands and I always wanted to go adventuring, seeing what is beyond the island." Sora explained with glee in his face and voice which made Jasmine chuckle.
"Lucky for you; my father while loving was overprotective... I never really got to see beyond my home's walls... I only had my pet Rajah and visiting relatives as friends... Plus my home isn't exactly around anymore..." Jasmine muttered shaking her head as Sora felt sorry for her.
"Sorry to hear about that but I am more than happy to be your first friend outside your home. I can introduce you to my friends and you can come with us and explore all the whole new worlds!" Sora said enthusiastically as Jasmine kept on her smile.
"I would like that very much; you seem like the adventurous type Sora." Jasmine told him and he nodded.
"I would be ready for any dangers, I like sword fighting... Okay Riku always wins but i am going to win one day and I can take down any enemy that comes my way..." Sora said shaking his head and Jasmine shook her head. "Well nice meeting you Jasmine; I have to go home now but see you in the morning." Sora told her as he left waving and Jasmine waved back.
Sora seemed nice but so far he doesn't seem to be the warrior that she was looking for...
Early in the morning Riku snuck out of his home to meet Kairi who had likely did so that they could get a head start on working on the raft but saw the sky filling with darkness to their confusion. Then came monsters and Kairi disappeared as Riku frantically went to where she was in panic and yelled out her name. He then saw Darkness appearing and felt it calling to him as he stepped closer with the Darkness feeling like it was calling to him...
Sora had been woken up by the sounds of screams in the morning and he quickly got dressed and looked out his window to see what was going on. To his surprise the sky was filled with darkness; there was no moon, sun or stars anywhere. He didn't see his mother in the house and outside people were running and screaming while running away from small monsters that looked like imps and were dark except for their yellow colored eyes.
Freaked out, he was wondering if his friends especially Riku & Kairi were alright, grabbing his wooden sword he then ran out and looked towards all around him. Trying to be brave he then tried to attack the monsters but they didn't even faze them at all. He then ran as they began going after him.
The giant monster then went to grab Sora with him trying to shield himself with his wooden sword and with his eyes closed, not noticing his hand shining a bright light. After a second he heard people react in shock and awe, he opened his eyes to see the monster put back his claw like it was harmed.
Sora looked to his hand and was shocked to see that he was no longer holding his wooden sword but in its' place was a key like weapon. It had the golden hilt of a sword with a keychain attached to the bottom of it; the keychain being a circle with two other circles attacked to it, the blade of the weapon was like a giant key.
Sora then tried attacking the monsters around him and he saw to his shock that it hurt them and he actually managed to destroy them after enough hits. He then had to dodge as the giant monster put its claw down at him again and then attacked it. He then attacked some more as they tried to swarm him and jokingly told them "Where's the fire..."
However to his shock a blast of fire came from the blade of his key weapon and deciding to try it, he pointed it at several of the monsters and shouted "Fire!" Beams of fire well fired out and it seemed like magic. The giant monster puts its claw down to grab him again and he attacked it.
The monster then had its head down and Sora began attacking the head until it was destroyed, there were the citizens cheering for them and he was determined to fight them to save his home. However he saw several of these monsters chasing after Jasmine who was going through the cave in the waterfall and he followed taking care of them asking Jasmine if he was alright.
She smiled at him with a look of awe saying "You are the Key Bearer... You can help save us all..." Sora was stunned as Jasmine showed him to the door and looked at him mournfully. "Sora, I am sorry but these creatures the Heartless and... I am not sure that you can your home..." Jasmine said as Sora shook his head not wanting to listen to what she had just said.
"There has to be something, my friends and family are here..." Sora yelled as Jasmine took his hand to try and calm him down.
"The Heartless will be drawn to the Key in your hand... It's called a Keyblade and it acts as your new weapon and wand. The Heartless claimed our home but if we go through this door then I think we can go on a journey to save both of our homes as well as all others that are at being threatened..." Jasmine told him pointing to the door form before and with a pleading look on her face held out her hand. "I promise that I will share with you what I know but please... Do you trust me?" she asked pleadingly and Sora thought it over and nodded as he went and put his Keyblade through the door and turned it. He then opened it and the door was filled with light and he entered with Jasmine not far behind.
