Kairi stood in front of the door in the Secret Place. She didn't know why she came here. One moment she was reading a book in her room, waiting for dinner to be ready, when the storm began. The harsh wind had blown open her window, grabbing her attention and giving her a perfect view to the giant, floating ball of darkness above the Play Island.
She doesn't why she ran out of the comfort and safety of her home to try to save the raft that they worked so hard on. But something inside of her just could not accept it being destroyed. She had to have at least tried to save it. So she ran for the boat, and quickly paddled her way over to the island through the rough and harsh waves. Only to be caught off guard by those shadowy blobs that had risen from the ground as they jumped on her. She had a hard time getting them off her. But by some miracle she managed to shake them off, before making a sprint for the door where the entrance of the Secret Place used to be.
And now she stood in front of that mysterious door at the end of the cave and she was feeling tired. Like her soul had left her body. She heard someone approach. "Kairi!" The familiar voice of Sora called out to her from the tunnel leading to the cave.
She turns around and as she moves her feet she feels some of her tiredness vanish, and her energie slowly coming back.
"Sora…" She says slowly as she watches her friend run out of the tunnel, relief etched onto his face, along with a smile, as he looks at her. She smiles weakly back and takes a step towards him.
"Kairi, you're-" He tried to say before the door behind Kairi opened and she was launched forward and into Sora.
He braced himself for the impact, arms wide, and sliding back as she collided with him. Soon followed by the wind behind Kairi, sending them flying out of the cave and onto the remains of the beach.
They rolled over the beach. Sora clutching Kairi in a tight embrace. Not letting go until they stopped rolling.
The ground beneath them shook and the wind blew harshly around them.
Sora quickly pulled himself off the ground and kneeled beside Kairi. Who was slowly trying to get up off the ground. But only managed to sit up. She looks up at Sora, who was looking concerned at her.
She tried to smile at him, to reassure him that she was fine. But a look of horror took over as a massive, dark beast, with a heart shaped hole in his chest, rose above them. It's hollow, yellow eyes staring down at them through the tangled mess that was it's hair.
Sora followed her gaze and looked up at the massive beast. He quickly stands up, and in a flash a massive key appears in his hands.
Keyblade
A voice in her head told her.
Sora charged towards the beast and tried to strike it's legs. But instead of his keyblade cleanly cleaving through it. It instead cleanly went through the beast's leg without causing as much as a scratch.
The beast didn't even seem to notice the attempt to harm him. Instead pulling some kind of darkforce to one of its hands before slamming it into the ground. Causing a black and bubbly pool of darkness to appear around it's fist.
Slowly a small amount of those shadowy blobs rise out of it. Their beady, yellow eyes almost immediately focused on Sora as he swung at the bigger beast's arm. Cutting through its arm and cleaving a bit of it's arm away.
The bigger beast pulls his arm back, giving the smaller ones all the room they need.
The smaller ones leap at Sora, who was barely paying any attention to them, and slash at him with their claws.
Sora tried to jump away from them, but only managed to land on his butt, as one of them had clawed at his leg. Causing him to lose his balance as the wound briefly flared up with pain.
Kairi watched as the shadows approached Sora as he tried to get up.
Kairi pushed herself off the ground. She had to do something. She didn't know what, but she had to do something.
Don't be afraid
She ran towards Sora. Who was barely up on his feet when another one of those shadows jumped at him. Kairi raced forward, as the thing got closer and closer to Sora. Pushing herself to go faster than she ever had. She had to be faster than that thing.
You hold the mightiest weapon of all
There was a shift in the air and her body seemed to move on it's own.
Her hand seemed to close around something, tightly gripping it in her hand as it appeared with a flash of bright, yellowish-white light, and it's weight comfortably settled into her hand. She raises her arm before she slashes at the shadow. Cutting it cleanly in two with the weapon in her hand.
Keyblade
Kairi slides to a stop next to Sora. Who was seemingly awestruck as he watched Kairi slide to a halt.
"Are you alright?" Kairi asked, looking over to Sora, who shook his head in an attempt to clear it. "I'm fine, Kairi." He quickly assures her, before shifting his stance. "Let's get them!" He exclaimed before charging forward again with Kairi quickly following him.
They easily cleaved through the small shadows, now that they know to keep an eye out for them.
Kairi jumps at a shadow and cuts through it before jumping back. Causing a shadow that jumped at her to miss. She steps forward and swings her keyblade. Splitting it in two and using the momentum to clumsily spin away and to the next shadow. Who knocks her flat on her butt before swiping at her legs. Kairi cries out in pain. The shadow raises its arms, ready to swipe at her, before being hit and tossed to the side by Sora. Who had hurriedly came to Kairi's aid.
He quickly jumps after the shadow and slashes at it. Causing it to disappear with a puff of black smoke, much like the others.
"That was the last one. Come on Kairi!" Sora yelled out as he ran towards the giant monster, who was kneeling with its arms crossed over his chest. "Sora, wait!" Kairi cried out as she saw the same darkforce it called before gathering in the middle of the heart shaped hole in it's chest.
The monster quickly arches backwards and uncrosses it's arms. Firing a few dark projectiles that bend and move through the air on their own.
Kairi runs towards Sora, who was busy repeatedly slashing at one of the monster's arms, as the projectiles homed in on him. She tackles him out of the way in the knick of time. Causing the projectiles to fly past them and disappear.
Sora and Kairi quickly stand up. "Thanks Kairi." Sora says as he dodges another projectile.
"Your welcome." Kairi says as she also dodges a projectile.
The monster stood back up and raised it's fist again, calling upon the darkforce again, before slamming it into the ground.
"Kairi, you hit the big one! I'll take care of the small ones!" Sora said as he charged at the shadows that had risen from the blackpool.
Kairi ran after him and quickly started to hit the monster's arm. She hit it as hard and as fast as she could, while Sora kept the crowd of shadows busy.
"I don't think I'm doing much damage!" Kairi cried out as she wildly swung her keyblade at the arm.
Sora dodged another shadow before slashing at a few shadows, sending them flying off the edge.
"Then find another weak spot!" He yelled back before jumping out of the way of a few jumping shadows.
Kairi stops swinging her keyblade and looks the monster over. His legs are a no go, she was wailing at its arms like a lunatic and barely did anything, and it's chest was basically a big hole. Her eyes went higher and a light bulb turns on in her head as she watches the monster's hollow yellow eyes stare down at Sora.
It's head.
She quickly climbs on top of the monster's arm and runs up it. The monster's gaze flickers towards her but Kairi is undeterred.
She takes a stance and swings her blade across the monster's face. Cutting away a good chunk of its face. The monster rears back and grabs it's face. Causing Kairi to lose her balance and fall off the monster's arm.
The giant, black mass above starts to rumble, and the wind begins to pick up harder and upwards, towards the black mass. Almost like a hurricane, the wind picked up the giant and it disappeared up into the black mass.
Sora and Kairi quickly grabbed onto a piece of wood that was buried into the sand. The wind began to blow even harder. As if it knew that the keyblade wielders are still there.
The wood creaked heavily as the wind kept blowing. The sound of wood breaking was heard before Kairi was violently flung through the air. But the wind didn't take her very far before Sora grabbed her arm. Kairi quickly grabs Sora's arm with both hands, holding on tightly.
The wood creaked again before giving way. The wind picked both teens up and into the black mass. Sora pulled Kairi close and held her in a tight embrace which Kairi returned.
Somewhere in a Victorian-age town, underneath the stars. Three figures walk through it. An anthropomorphic dog, an anthropomorphic duck and an orange dog.
The anthropomorphic animals look around the town square, looking for something while the dog scurries off on his own hunt. The anthropomorphic dog looks up just as a star begins to shine quite bright. But the shine had a depressing look to it.
"Donald, look." The dog says alarmed as he points up at the night sky. The duck turns around with a frown on its face. Donald sees Goofy point and looks towards the sky. An expression of shock on his face.
"A star's going out." Goofy says before the star shines just a bit brighter before disappearing.
The duck looks towards the dog. "Come on. Let's hurry." He says before walking towards a set of stairs with a railing in the middle.
The frown shortly returns to the ducks face. He crosses his arm and looks around. "Where's that key…" He says frustrated.
Goofy rubs his chin. "Hey, ya know, maybe we ought to go find Leon." Goofy suggests as he and the duck walk up the stairs.
The orange dog with them ventures off into an ally. "Uh, Donald." Goofy says as he points at the orange dog. "Ya know, I betcha that-" "Oh, what do you know ya big palooka." Donald interrupts him as he walks towards another set of stairs away from the alley.
Goofy briefly looks back towards the alley as he rubs his chin. "Mhmm. What do I know?" He asks before calling out to the orange dog. "Come on, Pluto." He yells before following the duck.
Pluto wanders further into the alley and past a set of wooden crates and barrels, to find two teenagers asleep as they hold onto each other, with the girl in the boy's lap and her head against his shoulder.
The dog walks up to them before licking the boy. Who tiredly opens his eyes.
"Hmm?"
He looks around and is met with an unfamiliar place and a dog staring at him. He lets out a small laugh. "What a dream…" He says as he closes his eyes and leans back.
The dog jumps on both him and the girl. Giving them a rough push. Waking them up. The boy looks straight at the dog. "This isn't a dream." He says amazed.
The girl in his arms looks around. "Where are we?" She asks as she slowly stands up, with the boy doing the same.
"Sora?" The girl asks as she looks over to the boy. "I don't know." He says as he looks around. He looks back at the dog and bends over. "Do you know where we are?" He asks. "Sora, that's a-" The dog lifts its right ear up and slightly turns his back, before turning around and running out of the alley.
"Hey!" Sora yells at the dog. But the dog ignores him and disappears around the corner. Sora takes off after the dog with Kairi on his heels. "Sora, wait!" Sora turns the corner and instantly comes to a halt. Kairi stops next to him, an awestruck expression on both of their faces.
"Where are we?" Sora softly mutters. "I don't know." Kairi says as they stare at the town in front of them.
She steps forward. "Come on." She says cheerfully with a smile to match. "Let's ask around."
