Wile E vs Coyote
It was a warm summer dawn in the Southwest American Desert. The brightly orange sun peeks over the intricately shaped dusty red mountains overlooking the vast gravelly desert full of cactuses and brightly colored desert plants. And in the middle of it all a long stretch of road straight and curvy going as far as the horizon. And at that road a large smoke cloud streaks across the desert highway at blinding speed.
Out of the smoke the titular Desert Road Runner (or Accelerati Incredibus) appears running at speeds no normal Road Runner or any creature on this earth can fathom. With the wind through his feathers and the scenic desert around him looking like a blur the Road Runner lives up to his name without a care in the word. But miles away unbeknownst to the bird stands one of the desert's most crafty predators the infamous Coyote (or Carnivorous Vulgaris). But this Coyote is not just some ordinary coyote but Wile E Coyote, the self-entitled "Super Genius" who made it his life goal to capture this particular Road Runner.
Wile E Coyote looks through his binoculars to get a good look at his prey. Yards away the Road Runner heads toward him still unaware. Seeing this Wile E with an eager grin and a ravenous lick of his chops runs over his latest trap. A rope tied at the ends by a couple wooden stakes lays across the road connected by another line of rope fed through a pulley. While at the other end of the pulley a long thin string is looped behind a large rock and tied onto the trigger of an ACME® branded net launcher mounted on the rock.
Wile E sneaks behind the rock and takes cover. He peeks his head over the rock and waits eagerly for the Road Runner. The sound of a sonic jet or rocket twitches his ear as he watches the large dust cloud growing closer and closer. As Wile E awaits his prey something catches the corner of his eye.
Wile E curious quickly turns his head to the side across from him and sees a little black shape sticking out of a large rock. The shape then sticks out more revealing to be a canine's nose attached to a long brown furred snout. Wile E tilts his head to the side puzzled as to what sort of creature is behind that rock and if it's gonna be a hindrance to his plan. Soon enough the creature slowly reveals itself and when it did Wile E's eyes immediately grow wide.
It was another Coyote but unlike him this coyote acted more animalistic then intelligent. The Coyote stood on all fours in a pouncing position. It's bushy tail sticking up fiercely as its maw opens agape trickling a little drool. The Coyote lets out a small growl its beady veiny little eyes gleaming where the Road Runner is coming.
Wile E couldn't believe what he is seeing another coyote just like him. It had been years since he has ever seen another one of his kind. Sure there was his mother and father but they hardly visit especially with his repeated failures. But there it stands a normal everyday desert coyote about to catch prey, his prey. Wile E realizing The Coyote was after his bird goes over to try and stop it.
But before he could do that The Road Runner arrives running toward the trap. The Coyote instinctively leaps out of the rock claws in front of it and its mouth wide open about to seek its teeth on the bird. But in a blur the Road Runner skips over the trip rope and with a loud "Beep! Beep!" takes off down the road leaving a trail of dust cloud. The Coyote missing its catch ends up stepping on the rope setting off the trap. The force of the rope tugs through the pulley yanking the string which pulls the trigger firing the net launcher ensnaring The Coyote in a small net.
Wile E snaps his fingers looking a bit peeved his trap didn't catch the Road Runner. He then turns his attention on The Coyote who squirms desperately trying to get out of the net. Wile E walks over and carefully pulls the net off of it. The second he takes the net off it The Coyote pounces on him and starts wildly mauling him. Wile E then lays on his stomach all scratched up with mangy fur a little shaken up. The Coyote growls and snarls at Wile E viciously upset and then takes off.
Wile E getting up and dusting himself off watches The Coyote leaves pondering. The desert was nothing but a large scenic highway with hardly any wildlife except him and The Road Runner but Wile E wonders now why all of a sudden is there another Coyote. That is when suddenly a piece of a newspaper flutters behind him and lands on his back ankle. Feeling the paper on his back leg he bends down to picks it up reading the discarded page.
On the page in bold letters it read: "Coyotes migrate Southwest". This causes Wile E to drop the page looking quite worrisome. This did not sound good to Wile E, all of his life he spent trying and failing to capture The Road Runner but he never had to worry about another predators coming in trying to capture his prey he works so hard on catching. But now that there are more Coyotes coming here, this poses a threat to his plans and if they capture the Road Runner before he does everything he worked so hard on those past years will be for nothing and he'll starve to death.
Wile E's ears twitch as he turns to the sounds of howling. Far off over the desert he sees a large dust cloud trailing over the horizon. Curious he pulls out his binoculars and looks through them seeing a large pack of Coyotes running together. Wile E's eyes pop out of his head fearing the worst may come true. In a panic he runs as fast as he can out in the highway knowing that he must get to The Road Runner first.
Later in another part of the desert Wile E sets up a giant slingshot in the middle of the road. With a large boulder he pulls the large rubber band as far as he can stretch it and waits for his target. On the other side of The Road Runner is heading toward Wile E's direction with the Coyote Pack trailing right behind his tail. Seeing the Road Runner Wile E let's go of the rubber band launching the boulder directly at him.
The Road Runner quickly ducks as the boulder flies over his head. The Coyotes freeze in terror as the hurling boulder smashes into them and continues flying with the coyotes stuck onto it. The boulder then hits the cables of a couple of powerlines bending them and stretching the cables far enough into the ground. And then the cables snap forward flinging the boulder and the Coyotes up in the air.
Wile E watches as The Road Runner gets away again flustered that he'd miss. But then looking at the ground sees a small shadow before his feet growing larger and larger. Realizing what it is Wile E snaps his head up and watches as the boulder comes falling straight at him with the Coyotes looking back at him. The boulder smashes Wile E and the Coyotes flat like pancakes and rolls off of them. The Coyotes slowly get up off the ground shaking off their injuries and continue going after The Road Runner. Still lying flat on the ground Wile E slowly crawls away somewhere to come up with a better plan.
At an open area of the desert the Coyotes continue their chase after The Road Runner until one of the Coyotes notices a much larger Road Runner standing there across the desert. The Coyote stops his follow brethren nipping at their tails and after a few yips to get their attention he points them to where the other Road Runner stands. The other Coyotes lick their chops staring hungrily at the large bird across the desert. They look to each other and nod agreeingly to go after this bird instead and they do with great haste.
Over at the desert the large Road Runner is an actuality a crudely made costume of a female Road Runner. The costumed Road Runner removes it's head revealing none other than Wile E as he wipes the sweat off of his head. Wile E looks over across the desert and sees a large dust cloud coming his way. Thinking it's The Road Runner Wile E puts his Road Runner head back on and starts acting all flirtatious shaking his tail feathers. But soon as its revealed to be the Coyote Pack Wile E panics and tries to remove the head. But try as he might the head seems to have gotten stuck on him. Having no other choice Wile E takes off into the desert with the pack chasing after him.
As the Coyotes continue to chase him Wile E leads them unwittingly through his own trap he set up for the Road Runner which is an open mine field. Wile E carefully works his way through the landmines while the Coyotes just run through them setting off the explosives. Wile E looks over his shoulder and sees the Coyotes a couple feet away from him while a chain of large explosions come in right behind them. Wile E's bug out of his head in fear and starts to run as fast as he can avoiding any incoming explosions in the process. Suddenly Wile E steps on a mine causing him to freeze not daring to remove his foot setting off the explosions. But then looking back he sees The Coyote Pack coming in close about to pounce him. This causes Wile E to flinch back removing his foot from the mine in the process. Time freezes in a brief moment as the Coyotes notice what Wile E has done and shriek in terror.
A large explosion is set off sending everyone flying into the air. The Coyotes fall back on the ground on top of each other completely singed while Wile E lands on the road most of his costume burned off and the Road Runner head finally knocked off him. That is when the actual Road Runner shows up and looks lovingly at the discarded head. Seeing his chance Wile E springs up and tries to nab him only to for it to run off leaving him in the dust. Wile E runs after him while the Coyotes get up shaking off the soot. Watching Wile E who had tricked them going after their bird makes them mad as they let out vicious growls. The Pack get ready to run after them but one of the Coyotes steps on a landmine blowing them up again.
On a mountain pass at the edge of a cliff Wile E sits in a seat attached to an ACME® branded Anti-Aircraft gun. Looking through the cannon's scope Wile E spots The Road Runner just existing a tunnel. Wile E eagerly adjusts the position of the AA gun using a crank until it is aiming at a target painted on the road several feet away from the Road Runner. This was all too perfect for Wile E all he has to do now is wait for the bird to reach the target and then fire.
Wile E looks through the scope again just to be sure he's right on target but is greeted by a pair of angry eyes staring back at him. Taking his eyes off the scope Wile E is immediately yanked out of his seat by the Coyotes. A Coyote takes his seat while several others drag him on top of the AA gun and stuff him into the long tight barrel. The Coyote fires the cannon launching Wile E across the air and smashing into a few rock formations. The large slabs of rocks on top the formations tip over and fall directly on Wile E crushing him forming a large teeter totter with a boulder.
To add insult to injury The Road Runner got away yet again letting out another "Beep! Beep!". The Coyotes watch all this from above the cliffs laughing at Wile E's outcome. Unbeknownst to them another slab falls on the makeshift teeter tooter launching the boulder up and smashing onto the cliffside where they're standing. The Coyotes continue to laugh as the ground beneath them crumbles away. It wasn't until one of them looks down and realizes that they're standing on nothing that they immediately fall straight down landing faces first in a pile of rocks. The Coyotes rise out of the rubble relieved to have survived the fall. That was until the AA gun came falling on top of them smashing them all through a hole in the ground.
Some time passes after that ordeal and we arrive at a long stretch of road where The Road Runner streaks across the asphalt. Several feet away the pack of Coyotes chase after him running as fast as they can. Then all of a sudden something zips past them leaving behind a trail of smoke blinding them. It was none other than Wile E Coyote riding on a pair of ACME® Rocket Roller Skates.
Wile E skates ahead of the pack going faster and faster reaching right behind the Road Runner. Wile E reaches out as far as he can his fingers barley brushing the bird's tail feathers. Needing to get closer he bends down and clicks a button on the back of his skate. At first nothing happens but then one of the rockets is flipped upwards causing them to launch Wile E up in the air.
Road Runner stops and watches as Wile E is flying all over the sky out of control. Wile E reaches for one of the skates untying them in hopes of freeing himself. He unties the skate as it flies off of his foot soaring off far away in the desert. With only one skate the rockets spin him around like a top until they ran out of fuel. Wile E stands there looking down at the ground several feet in the air with an overexaggerated expression. He looks to the audience holding up a sign that says: "I blame Newton" and falls straight down.
Wile E falls through the asphalt making a Wile E shaped hole while Road Runner lets out a "Beep! Beep!" and runs off. Once he slowly climbs out of the hole all scuffed up and aching Wile E finds himself surrounded by the angry pack of Coyotes. Stepping out from behind the pack comes the Alpha of the Coyotes. Bigger, stronger looking, and all the more ferocious this large dark brown furred beast with open patches of pasty white skin and scars treads over to him tail down between its legs and head cocked to the side with its maw wide open with sharp teeth growling.
The Alpha stares down Wile E baring his fangs snarling and barking right into his face for dominance. Wile E looks back at The Alpha with a startled look. Out of instinct he lays on his back belly exposed surrendering. The Alpha then wraps his jaw around Wile E's neck lightly biting into it. Wile E winces gritting his teeth through the slight pain while the Alpha lifts him up a little off the ground not taking his veiny yellow eyes off him. The Alpha then tosses him back on the ground and barks orders at his pack to go after The Road Runner.
As the Coyotes run off The Alpha turns to Wile E still laying on the ground and barks at him as if telling him to stay away from its hunt and takes off. Wile E gets up from off the ground and watches the Coyotes run off far into the road. Having been beaten, humiliated and failing to capture his prey Wile E shrugs off that Coyote's threats and storms off. Wile E heads back home to his den and kicks his door wide open.
Wile E heads straight for his basement where he writes down all his plans and blueprints and keeps all of his contraptions and crates full of ACME® products. He goes to his desk and picks up a bottle of ACME® Extra Strength Painkillers and downs a handful of tablets. Then he goes over and picks up a crowbar and rips open a large crate. Out of the peanut packet filled crate he pulls out a green spandex and rubber ACME® Bat-Man Suit with yellow utility belt. He then goes and starts opening up other crates pulling out all the explosives, traps, and any other gadgets he could carry. After suiting up and grabbing everything he needs Wile E stands on top of a cliff over a moon lit night.
With a determined look he runs back and then runs forward leaping off the cliff diving straight down. The wind flies through his face as he picks up speed Wile E lifts his arms opening up his suit's glider wings. He shuts his eye's hoping it'll work and as it looks like he might hit the ground the wind catches his wings and lifts him up in the air right before his face touches the ground. Wile E opens his eyes relieved that he didn't crash and as his silhouette appears over the moon he swoops down and flies through the desert.
Somewhere at the end of the road The Road Runner having been running all day either from Wile E's crazy traps and those new coyotes chasing him stops and heads through a canyon only he can go through. The Road Runner walks through a narrow path and arrives at his den entering and locking the door behind him. He heads straight for his nest stepping around it and then sitting down shutting his eyes. The Road Runner sleeps soundly in his nest until a noise wakes him up forcing one eye open.
He scans around the den searching for where the sound came from and what he sees makes him hold on to his breath. A bunch of glowing yellow eyes stares back from out of his windows. Anxiously stiff The Road Runner stares widely at the eyes wanting to just get up and run but can't. That is when suddenly a soft growl hums at the right side of his hearing making him flinch.
The Road Runner hesitant at first quickly turns his head to the right and stares face to face with a vicious Coyote who gets the jump on him. He quickly falls back missing the Coyote as it fumbles onto the floor The Road Runner gets back up and runs out of there before it has a chance to grab him. Road Runner dashes out of the den avoiding the awaiting Coyotes who are left blinded by the dust. He runs to the narrow passage leading to the road but is blocked by two Coyotes guarding it. Road Runner turns tail and runs off in the other direction while the Coyotes chase after him.
Road Runner runs through a short crevasse of dry prickly dead bushes in between the slanted sides of mountains. He zips through in a zig zag trying not to touch any of the bushes when suddenly a few Coyotes pop out of the bushes trying to pounce on him. This causes Road Runner to jump away and starts running up the side of the slanted mountain wall. He then jumps off of the wall and heads up a passage through a thicket of dead trees the Coyotes not falling behind.
The Road Runner picks up more speed running uphill up through the tunnel of dead trees in pitch black darkness. The Coyotes gain up on him panting heavily never taking their eyes off of their prey. Road Runner keeps his eyes focused on the path in front of him when all of a sudden a Coyote pops its head out of the thicket trying to bite him. He bobs and ducks away as more and more Coyotes break out of the trees either trying to bite or claw at him. The chase continues up and up the hill until he reaches the end of the thicket.
The Road Runner eagerly picks up more speed believing that the end of this pass will lead him to safety away from these predators. But quickly his hope vanishes as what awaits is even more Coyotes standing there ready to attack. He screeches to a halt until his feet barley reaches off the edge of a narrow cliff leading to a dangerously high drop. Road Runner backs away slowly from the edge and turns around only to be greeted by the dozens of Coyotes before him.
All of them stand low to the ground growling and sneering as they bare their salivating maws. The pack then back away and stand to the side making way for their Alpha as it comes crawling in scarily turning its head to the side baring its large fangs.
The Road Runner trembles before them, before they arrived he had never experienced fear. At first he thought of them as no different than Wile E but they weren't like him, when he was around him he didn't feel so threatened. Sure he tries to catch him on a daily basis what with those complicated traps of his. But they would always not work so well for him and he would always out run him before he could get the chance. To him it almost felt like a game like he could run around him and not feel so worried about his life. And he did find it funny whenever he got his comeuppance but also somewhat admires his determination.
But these Coyotes are nothing like him. They were beastly, overwhelmingly frenzy, and so desperate as to stalk him in his home and chase him nonstop unlike Wile E who would only try to capture him during the day away from his own territory. And right now he would rather take him over them right about now. The Road Runner stands alone between the hungry and ferocious Coyotes and the edge of a cliff each of them leading to the bird's certain death.
Seeing no way out of this he shuts his eyes and waits for his demise. The Alpha comes in closer and closer licking its chops as the rest watch from behind eager to receive their meal. But then all of a sudden something drops right in front of them. Looking down he sees an ACME® Smoke Screen Bomb which explodes right in his face forcing him and the pack to back away.
A large cloud of smoke covers the area between the Coyotes and The Road Runner. Then a shadowy figure appears in the smoke and with a wave of his wings clears away the smoke revealing Wile E in his Bat-Man suite. Road Runner gazes at him surprised and relieved to see him come out of nowhere while The Alpha and his pack bark and growl at him ready to attack. Wile E unwavering glares back at the Coyotes waiting for them to make their move.
The Alpha and The Coyotes run at him about to pounce him. That is when Wile E pulls out a detonator out of his utility belt and presses the button. This causes a series of explosions which sends many of the Coyotes in the back flying off of the cliff. The Alpha and the rest turn back and see the fiery destruction that laid before them. Now distracted Wile E jumps up in the air wings extended as he goes in for the attack. Road Runner watches as Wile E fights off the whole Coyote pack one by one.
The Coyotes leap at Wile E biting and scratching at him but he either dodges and deflects their attacks. Wile E then pulls out three ACME® Trick Balls and chucks them at a couple of Coyotes which explode upon contact knocking them out. A Coyote then pounces on him Wile E holding it off with his arm. Which is when he pulls out an ACME® Taser and sticks it in its neck electrocuting it. Wile E gets up and pulls out an ACME® Makeshift Grapple Gun which he fires a plunger attach to a cable at a nearby Coyote. He then presses a button on the gun which reels the cable back pulling the Coyote towards him as he delivers a haymaker knocking the Coyote out.
He then pulls out a boomerang and throws it at a Coyote knocking it onto the ground. Right behind him another Coyote gets up on two legs and pulls out a grenade out of nowhere prepping it. Seeing this over his shoulder Wile E quickly picks up the downed Coyote and throws it at the grenade holding one pinning him. The grenade goes off blowing the both of them up as Wile E runs off into the thicket giving chase to the Coyotes.
He pulls out a flip knife and begins cutting some ropes tied up on a few trees as he runs past them. The Coyotes come running in when suddenly a bunch of anvils fall from the trees crushing a few of them. The Remaining Coyotes still chase him until reaching an opening. There they see Wile E waiting for them and they immediately get the jump on him. But it turns out to be a realistic painting as they run right through it and fall off an edge of a cliff plummeting all the way down to the ground. The real Wile E jumps out from behind some bushes and then runs back toward the cliff.
Wile E makes it back to the cliff where The Road Runner still stands believing he has taken care of the Coyotes. But then suddenly more Coyotes come out of nowhere and dogpile on top of him. Wile E struggles to break free from the weight of the Coyotes as they squirm around trying to bite him. He reaches into his belt and takes out a small box of ACME® Triple-Strength Fortified Leg Muscle Vitamins. Wile E pours the vitamins into his mouth swallowing them and after a brief moment his legs miraculously grow strong muscles. With these strong legs Wile E easily kicks the Coyotes off of him sending them flying and scattered on the ground.
They get back up and run at him while Wile E delivers a swift kick to one of them sending it flying across the thicket. Wile E starts kicking Coyotes left and right either knocking them on the ground or sending them flying into the air, he even kicked a Coyote's face so hard he'd knock out all of its teeth. A Coyote tries to gnaw at his leg forcing him get on his hands and spin around kicking many Coyotes along the way. Wile E then stands back up and leaps up in the air. He then spins around at high speed and with his leg out stretched he tumbles down and slams his heel on top of the last remaining Coyote's head smashing it into a small crater.
The remaining pack lays defeated beaten and burned to a crisp. The Coyotes get up and turn tail yelping and whining as they run off into the thicket away from him. Wile E admires his handiwork dusting off his hands after such a successful job dealing with them. It was now only him and The Road Runner as he makes his way towards his prized bird.
The Road Runner looks behind him and notices The Alpha sneaking towards him. He lets out a frightened "Beep! Beep!" warning him but is too late as The Alpha jumps on his back yanking Wile E down on the ground. Pinning him Wile E struggles to break free while The Alpha uses its claws to rip out his utility belt tossing it off the cliff. It then begins tearing pieces of his suit off until Wile E breaks free from The Alpha's grasp.
Now bare and defenseless Wile E quickly crawls away from The Alpha trying to catch his bearings. But the Alpha reaches for his ankle and latches its fangs onto it. Wile E's eyes bulge and lets out a pained cry as it drags him around the ground. Wile E desperately kicks it in the nose forcing it to let him go.
The Alpha let's out a snarl and gets up on its hind legs intimidating him with its towering presence while Wile E gets up and anxiously stands his ground. The Alpha doesn't hesitate and wraps its claws around Wile E's throat throwing each other on the ground. They thrash around biting, scratching, and punching each other The Alpha having a clear advantage. Overwhelmed Wile E grabs a handful of dirt and throws it at the its eyes blinding it.
He then gets up and picks up a nearby tree branch. Once the Alpha gets its vision back it immediately gets whacked in the face by the branch. Wile E keeps beating him left and right until The Alpha grabs the branch with its teeth. Wile E uses both hands as he tries to yank the branch out of its mouth. The Alpha then pins him on his back again still holding onto the branch while digging its claws into his chest. Wile E cringes from the sharp pain in his chest as he desperately tries to push the beast off of him.
But try as he might it wouldn't budge and as he hears the branch tightening from The Alpha Coyote's strong jaw he fears this might be the inevitable. Fearing this maybe it for him Wile E looks over at The Road Runner thinking how far he has come to catching him and wishing how this is not how he wanted it to end. Road Runner looks back at Wile E worrisome he had been standing there watching him fight off so many Coyotes it's as if he's protecting him. But now here he was outmatched by a much more threatening Coyote looking up to him thinking he wants his help.
The Road Runner looks back and forth at Wile E and The Alpha timid to make a move but shaking his long wobbly legs. He thinks If he helps him he may have a chance of stopping it but how can he? This Coyote was too big and strong and all he could do is run away. But if he makes a run for it he can finally escape and leave those two to deal with each other. But it wouldn't feel right to leave him there especially when he's protected him. Sure he's seen him survive explosions and worse but this Coyote intends to finish him off in the worse way possible. And what if he did try to intervene and The Alpha immediately went after him?
All these thoughts and more repeat over and over in his head making him all stressed and confused. The Road Runner looking very regretful shuts his eyes and runs off leaving the two of them alone. As Wile E watches him go he lays his head back looking defeated while The Alpha growls furious that its prey had escaped. Suddenly looking up near him Wile E spots a familiar object laying on the ground, his rocket skate.
Hatching a plan Wile E reaches for the roller skate while still holding off The Alpha with the branch with one hand. But as far as he stretches his arm his fingers barley reaches it and to make matters worse the branch is about to break. Anxious Wile E tries dragging himself closer to the skate with one hand while The Alpha snaps the branch in two tossing it aside. The Alpha gets ready to sink its jaws at his throat while Wile E braces for impact.
But then a blur appears suddenly and knocks The Alpha on its back. The Alpha squirms around a bit then gets back up seeing The Road Runner stand before him having just shoved him. Wile E looks up and sees The Road Runner surprised to see it come back. The Alpha enraged snarls at the bird as it approaches him tail between its legs and head cocked to the side.
The Road Runner nervously backs away slowly while taking a few quick glances at Wile E. Wile E picking up his glances figures he's acting as a distraction and so goes for the rocket skate and runs at them. He hops on top of The Alpha's back and shoves the rocket skate onto its snout. The Alpha taken by surprise tries to shake the skate off of him but won't come off. Wile E then presses the button activating the rockets launching The Alpha up in the air spinning out of control as the Coyote let's out a terrified howl.
Wile E watches a devilish smirk spreading across his face and Road Runner smiling as well at its situation. Wile then looks at The Road Runner his smile disappearing and replaced with a look of confusion as to why he came back and went as far as to help him even though he was after him too. The Road Runner simply looks back at him and smiles. Suddenly the Alpha flies down and crashes into Wile E.
The two of them tumble across the ground and then fall off the edge of the cliff. The Alpha quickly grabs onto the ledge with its claws while Wile E grabs onto its tail hanging for his dear life. Road Runner runs over to get to Wile E but stops before seeing The Alpha trying to claw its way back up. Wile E climbs on its back and begins trying to yank the clung Coyote off. But the Coyote won't let go as he tries to shake him off and reach for The Road Runner barking and gnashing its teeth.
Wile E growing frustrated with this coyote rears his head back and then takes a big bite out of the back of its neck. The Alpha's eyes budge out of its sockets as it lets out a shrill cry of pain. This pain forces the coyote to let go of the edge making them both slip off the cliff. Road Runner runs over and looks over the edge seeing the two Coyotes grow smaller and smaller until disappearing into the darkness below.
The Road Runner leans his head closer waiting for the sound of an impact or an echo or anything but heard nothing. He looks on an utter bafflement, usually Wile E would throw himself off a cliff by accident when he tried catching him but when it came to stopping that Coyote he willingly threw himself off with it. He looks up puzzled as to why he would do that but then sighs knowing deep down that the Coyote survived. Finally relieved that the danger was all over The Road Runner turns around and quickly runs back home to his den.
The next morning at a road through a large arching stone structure Wile E with a blackeye covered in bandages is pouring a box of ACME® Bird Seeds onto a plate on the ground with a small sign that reads: "Free Bird Seeds". He hears the sound of The Road Runner's "Beep! Beep!" coming his way and quickly runs out of the road hiding behind a boulder. Wile E then pulls on a nearby rope hoisting a steel safe in the air tied to the stone structure waiting for the bird. The Road Runner suddenly appears before the plate and begins pecking at the bird seeds.
With a devious grin Wile E lets go of the ropes dropping the safe. But the safe remains in the air despite no support. Annoyed Wile E tugs on the rope repeatedly hoping to get the safe to drop. The Road Runner finishes the bird seed and jumps up in the air blowing a raspberry. With a cheerful "Beep! Beep!" he zips off down the road leaving a trail of smoke.
Wile E walks over to where The Road Runner had left and begins stomping all over the ground completely upset. That's when he suddenly steps on the sign making him stop. He looks down and notices the back of it has been written on. Curious he picks up the sign reading it.
"Thank you" it read.
Wile E stares blankly for a moment, never once has The Road Runner thanked him for anything. He then ponders as to why he would be thanking him. Could it be for feeding him but he has always tried to lure him with seed and he never thanked him for that before? Or could it be for what he did last night? Wile E immediately shakes that thought out of his head no way did he do all that just to save him he was his dinner and he didn't want those Coyotes taking what he worked so hard to get. Besides why would that bird care if he did save him? He was only looking out for himself that was all.
But then Wile E dose admit it had been so long since he ever had been thanked and looks appreciative at the small sign. That is until the safe finally drops landing on top of his head crushing him into the pavement. The safe door swings open revealing Wile E crushed into a cube. He pulls himself out looking quite upset as he takes the sign and snaps it in two.
Tossing them over his shoulder Wile E starts running catching up to The Road Runner in a matter of seconds. Smiling the Road Runner gives chase, the two of them run around the desert road starting their whole routine all over again.
That's all Folks!
