We join Steven Universe with Lapis Lazuli on a tower she made using the Earth's ocean. Lapis is finishing up her sob story, showing Steven the cracked gem on her back.

"I'm only using the ocean because my gem is cracked," Lapis explained, "If I just stretch it far enough…" A sigh, "This is never going to work."

Fortunately, Steven had an idea: "I can fix your gem—I have healing powers!"

"Wait…you have healing powers?"

"I know, right?"

Steven licked his hand and rubbed it over Lapis's gem. He waited for a few seconds, but nothing happened. Steven wasn't concerned, and there's a reason for that that can be summed up with one word.

"CUT!" a voice said.

The night sky and the ocean tower suddenly turned into a shade of solid, bright green. A human worker approaches the raised, round platform where the ocean tower once stood. He pulled the cracked gem off of Lapis, and wiped it clean with a handkerchief. Lapis stood up as the gem was put back in place on her back. She pinched her pupil-less eyes, and pulled out a pair of contacts, revealing two big black pupils underneath. As Lapis handed the contacts to the human who cleaned her gem, two wires with hooks at their ends lowered from the "sky" and latched on to her top.

"And…." said the same voice as before, "ACTION!"

The green surroundings turned back into the sky and ocean. Lapis was slowly lifted off her feet by the wires, then turned around to face Steven.

"Thank you, Steven!" she said.

"No prob, bob," said Steven, quoting a phrase.

"It's Lapis."

They chuckled. The Lapis "flew" off into the distance. The ocean, breaking free of Lapis's control, dropped sharply beneath Steven's feet.

Then a bell rang.

"CUT," the voice sounded again, "That's a wrap, everybody."

The sky and ocean turned green again. The platform Steven was standing on lowered to ground level. The wires slowly lowered Lapis down to the ground and the hooks let go of her top. She reached around and plucked the Lapis gem off her back: It was nothing more than a piece of blue plastic. Steven similarly pulled the Rose Quartz gem out of his tummy, revealing a normal-looking navel underneath. They walked together away from the green screen, out into the surrounding area filled with free-standing walls and lights dangling overhead: This was the studio where the Steven Universe show was made.

Steven and Lapis stopped at a table with donuts, cups of coffee and Steven's favorite, Cookie Cats™.

"So uh…" Steven began, "Will I see you again?"

"Maybe for the season finale," said Lapis, "But that's all I know. Miss Sugar is very quiet on where she wants this show to go."

"Ain't that the truth," Steven sighed, "I bet she's hiding a twist in the plot that is so huge, it might ruin our performances if we found out ahead of time!"

"Oooo!" said Lapis, excited, "That makes me want to find out what she's hiding even more!"

"So, you gonna do it?"

"No. I wanna head back to my home planet and say hi to the folks. Then I gotta worry about renewing my visa."

"Why can't you apply for a green card," Steven asked "Like Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl?"

Lapis chuckled, and put a hand on Steven's shoulder.

"I'm just a recurring character, Steven. I don't do the show full-time like they do: The just call me when they need me."

Steven sighed, "Well, I really would like to see you again!"

Lapis kissed Steven on his forehead.

"You know the Tillary on Flatbush?"

Steven nodded.

"Room 611."

And with that, Lapis left him. She walked through a doorway on one side of the studio, to the dressing rooms, to switch out of that costume and into some regular clothes.

Steven himself wouldn't be needed for anything else that night either, so he made his way to his dressing room. The episode they were filming was almost done. All that was left to do was a few model shots of the van moving towards and from the ocean. Then came the score, the editing, the special effects (like Lapis's CGI water wings) and finally sending the finished episode off to the network.

It was a nice, cool Friday night as Steven followed Lapis outside. He decided to take up her offer for a nightcap before she left Earth the following morning. After all, school wasn't until Monday.
