The Winx Club's Sodor Adventures - S1 - Episode 1: Thomas Gets Tricked

Thomas is a blue tank Engine who lives near Knapford station while working for the North Western Railway on the Island of Sodor. He's a cheeky little engine with 6 small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short, stumpy boiler and a short, stumpy dome. He also has a fairy friend who enjoys working with him. Her name was Bloom. She was the fairy princess of the realm of Domino in the Magical Dimension, and is also the Fairy of the Dragon Flame. Bloom attends the Alfea College for Fairies. She and most of her closest friends sometimes come to the island to help their engine friends.

Thomas is a fussy little engine too. He and Bloom are always pulling coaches about ready for the big engines and their fairy friends to take on long journeys. And when trains come in, they pull the empty coaches away, so their friends can go and rest.

Thomas thinks no engine or fairy works as hard as him and Twilight. He likes playing tricks on them, including Gordon, the biggest, fastest and proudest engine on Sodor. And like Thomas, he also has a fairy friend who enjoys working with him. Her name was Aisha, the Fairy of Waves, and the fastest, strongest & bravest fairy in the Magical Dimension.

Thomas used to tease Gordon and Aisha with his whistle. He would come up quietly beside them whenever they were napping during their break and blow a loud blast from his whistle. "Wake up, sleepyheads!" he said, "Why don't you work hard like me and Bloom?!"

One day after pulling the express, Gordon and Aisha had arrived back at Knapford, and they went into a siding near the station to rest as they were very exhausted. They were just going to snooze away when Thomas came up in his cheeky way. "Wake up, lazybones! Do some hard work for for a change! You can't catch me!" And he ran off laughing.

But instead of going back to sleep, Gordon and Aisha were thinking of a way to get back at Thomas.

Aisha groaned. "Gordon! I'm getting tired of Thomas waking us up with his whistle! Doesn't he know how hard it is to make sure the express is fast and always runs on time?!"

"I understand the same way," agreed Gordon. "Hmm. I think I have an idea to make Thomas see his senses." Then he whispered his plan.

Aisha smiled. "I like it, Gordon. I like it. We'll do it tomorrow. But I gotta think I better tell Bloom about this first."

"Good thinking," said Gordon. "We don't want her to catch off-guard of our idea, you know."

Next morning, Thomas wouldn't wake up, and Bloom couldn't get his fire started. His firebox was out and there was not enough steam.

"Oh, please wake up, Thomas," said Bloom worriedly. "The Express is expecting us now." And she was right. It was nearly time for the express. People were waiting, but the coaches weren't ready.

At last, Twilight got Thomas' fire started. "Oh dear, oh, dear," Thomas yawned.

He fussed into Knapford station where Gordon and Aisha were waiting.

"Hurry up, you!" said Gordon.

"Hurry up yourself!" replied Thomas.

Gordon and Aisha began making their plan to teach Thomas a lesson for teasing them. Almost before the coaches have stopped moving, Aisha quickly reversed Gordon and he was coupled to the train.

"Get in quickly, please!" Gordon whistled.

Thomas usually pushed behind the big trains to help them start, but he was always uncoupled first. But this time, Gordon started so quickly, that they forgot to uncouple Thomas. Gordon and Rainbow Dash's chance had come.

"Come on, Aisha!" said Gordon. "More speed please!"

Aisha replied, "You got it, Gordon!"

The train went faster & faster. Too fast for Thomas. He wanted to stop, but he couldn't. "Gordon! STOP!"

"Hurry, hurry, hurry!" laughed Gordon.

"You can't get away! You can't get away!" laughed the coaches.

Poor Thomas was going faster than he ever gone before. He was out of breath and his wheels hurt him, but he had to go on. "I shall never be the same again," he thought sadly, "My wheels will be quite worn out."

At last, they reached Wellsworth station.

Thomas was soon uncoupled, and he felt very silly and exhausted. Next, he went onto a turntable, thinking of everyone laughing at him. Then Bloom took him to a siding out of the way.

Aisha snickered. "Hey, Gordon, did you see the look on Thomas' face when we arrived?"

"Ha, ha! Quite so indeed. Well, little Thomas," chuckled Gordon, "now you know what hard work means, don't you?"

Poor Thomas couldn't answer. He had no breath. He just puffed slowly away to rest, and Bloom gave him a long, long drink.

"You know, Bloom?" asked Thomas. "Maybe I don't have to tease Gordon and Aisha to feel important."

Bloom knew her friend was right, they puffed slowly home.
