(Author Note: Hello all you lovely people! I am so happy to announce our story has begun! For many, many months I gathered up thoughts for this piece and finally they were put together {messily of course} and I began to write! Honestly this will probably become at least a three book series. I have so many ideas and plans that they couldn't fit in one well paced book! Another exciting thing about this fanfiction is it's a collab with my sister, Moon! As of now we switch off every other chapter but I'm sure that'll change as time goes on.

This AU was originally made by Razmerry on Instagram. Sweetfrost on Youtube has made the best MAP about it to date and I suggest watching it! I made my own rendition of the AU and that is what you will see here! I definitely was inspired by both Razmerry and Sweetfrost for certain events in this story.

This is a very dark AU. There will be lots of death, descriptive gore, and other terrible things happening. I can definitely imagine some more intense subjects like depression, anxiety, loss, possible thoughts of suicide or self harm. Please, if any of this bothers you skip the chapters that I mention it in. I will put a warning at the top and a chapter description at the bottom for any of you who do not wish to read subject matter like this. The chapter description will have important plot points that you should know for future chapters.

On another note there will be lots of gay cats. And if that bothers you the exit button is right there. We don't want you here.

With that I will let you read! I'm hoping the quality goes up the more I write. I hope you enjoy it!

Large white birds flapped their wings into the sky as six shapes made their way onto the cliff. Behind them lumbered a larger figure, beady eyes glaring at the Gulls.

"Eat those, cat should not." The stockier shape growled, pointing to the cloud colored birds with her snout. "Dirty. Dirty birds are they."

Behind the birds shone a beautiful sunset. Dark hues of purple and lighter shades of pink colored the sky and mirrored in the endless river. All the travelling cats stared in awe, their mouths agape. "It's beautiful." Feathertail whispered, leaning closer to the scruffy black tom. His fur seemed to prickle and he wouldn't meet her gaze. Midnight chuckled to herself and turned back to the water.

"Cats sleep now." She grumbled, looking at each one individually before gazing out over the waves. After her companions said their goodnights, Midnight made herself comfortable in the tall grass to wait. By the way the leaves shivered in the nearby scraggly trees, the badger knew her old friend was close. Once she heard his ghostly pawsteps she turned around and gave him a nod. "Greetings, Rock."

"Greetings, Midnight." The cat replied, taking a seat next to her on the cliff. "I trust our travelling cats are safe in the cave?"

"Indeed. Tonight cats will rest. Tomorrow I cannot see." Midnight murmured in response. She knew there was another prophecy. One that required one of the travelling cats. What she could not see, however, was what would become of this special cat. Whether he survived to tell his story or die behind the waterfall was not up for Midnight to guess. Her only job was to encourage them to follow their hearts.

Rock interrupted the old badger's thoughts with a purposeful cough. He noticed the way she blinked and was certain she was fully attentive yet again. "That small one… the scruffy tom. He is the one isn't he?"

Midnight nodded her large head. "Won't be so young." She said, staring into her friend's milky-white eyes. "Later, when Clans settle, cat will choose wisely, not." The badger lowered her head and sighed loudly. "Clans will fall."

Rock, however, did not look troubled. To Midnight he seemed content knowing what would happen to all the Clan cats at their new home. His eyes weren't narrowed and his furless tail didn't twitch. The tom cat sat with his bald shoulders relaxed as he turned toward the badger.

"Midnight, my dear old friend, the cats at the lake may fall but the mountain cats still stand! The tribe has many, many moons left in them… And, moons before they die out, cats will follow a different trail to their new home much like their ancestors did eons before them!." Rock paused to look back at the cave entrance where the Clan cats were sleeping peacefully behind the wall of shadows. His voice remained hard and without breaks as he continued, "We cannot change their fate. Telling them would only cause panic and an earlier beginning to their end. We can just hope a few cats will survive to tell the tale. If not… then even the memory of the Clans will become nothing more than the leaf litter they walked on."

Midnight turned to face Rock but her companion had vanished. The wind seemed to cry out in sorrow as it picked up and whistled through the tall grass. The old badger had to watch so many cats fall, so many fox dens crumble under the weight of twoleg machines. She watched as the first twoleg came and interrupted SkyClan's hunting and then as they left the Forest. Midnight witnessed all of this without so much as a whimper. So why did the end of the Clans already make her eyes sting and heart painfully drop? Blood, pain, and suffering… Clans will end horribly. Fox did too. Owl crushed by twolegs monsters. Nothing like this… nothing at all.

As the last colors of the sky faded into black, Midnight rose. Most gruesome… most savage… Watching Clans be painful. She thought, trudging towards the line of short, scraggly trees. Even as a keeper of the world, the ghostly badger was not ready to watch the most horrific end the animal kingdom had ever suffered before.
