Overflowing
Chapter 1
Brooke Davis was 32 years old. She had more money then she knew what to do with. Why.? Multiple failed marriages to married men. She learned a long time ago that love and commitment was not for her. She had freedom to do her work in the fashion industry and travel to various parts of the world.
Her mansion was filled to the rim with years of her belongings. She bought anything and everything needing to fill the emptiness in her life. She didn't get rid of things ever.
Women hated her which is why she didn't have friends. Outside of her best friend Peyton Sawyer. And men well friendship is the last thing they wanted from her.
And as far as she was concerned. Life couldn't be better.
Brooke thought to herself. Clutching her wine glass as she stared out of the view from her balcony.
She sighed deeply. Going back into her empty home.
...
Believe it or not just because you live in a small town and live steps away from you're neighbors doesn't mean you know everyone.
Lucas Scott had been consumed with his career and his sons. He became a father after a one night stand with Rachel Gatina.
But in the end. After years of neglect from her parents and relying on drugs to comfort her. Rachel's life ended with her overdosing alone. Only to be found by police officers doing a wellness check. The two were never a couple.
Their boys being young at the time barely remember her at all.
It's been just him and his sons ever since. Along with the support system his mom, adopted father Keith. Younger brother by three months Nathan and his wife Lucas's best friend Haley James Scott provided. Adding in his friends from childhood Skills and Mouth. At 32 he had a successful career. Was raising two 11 year old boys. And by all accounts wasn't looking for love or a commitment.
Outside of the occasional one night stand his life couldn't handle anything else.
Lucas stared into the eyes of his children. He was picking them up from school as he had done everyday. He had just got done hearing about their day. To his uncomfortable surprise the school had shown a childbirth video and gave a very technical sex talk to all the kids. Seperating the boys from the girls.
"So do you have any questions about what you saw or heard.?" He asked.
The boys looked to each other then back at their father.
Larry Scott was his father's mirror image and personality. Blond hair. Blue eyes. He was all about books, basketball, his friends and family.
While Leo took after his mother. Red hair. Brown his mother's personality. Strong willed. The wild card. But behind it all there was this thick layer of insecurity that ran deep. You only saw it during rare moments.
"No. We just want to go to the cafe have dinner and dessert then play with the video games we bought the other day." Leo replied.
"We'll go straight there. If you do have any questions ask me anytime. And no video games until you're homework is done." Lucas instructed. Before driving out of the school parking lot.

Days Later
Without a draft to get done for a book and his sons spending the weekend with their grandparents. He had the next few nights to himself.
And the most popular club in town Tric was the place to be for everyone.
Animals by Maroon 5
Was playing loudly in the background. People were whispering and couples were dancing so close there was no room to fit between them.
Lucas headed over to the bar and ordered two beers. He scanned the endless crowd of people.
His eyes practically bugging out of his head. As this woman in a skin tight red dress, high heels, and make up highlighting her best features. Her lips and eyes.
Practically ran over to the bar banging the top of the bar with her fists.
"This is my song! Where is my drink so i can go dance!" The woman exclaimed.
"Ready and waiting for you beautiful." The bar tender replied.
The woman rolled her eyes. Smiled and laughed.
It was only then did Lucas catch a glimpse of her hazel eyes, dimples, brown straight hair going down her back and husky voice.
He decided in that moment. He had to meet her.
...
Brooke took a long sip from her glass. Her go to drink.
A Vodka soda with grapefruit and lime.
She was so ready to wear out these newly bought heels and dress.
Brooke did a double take when she scanned the bar again.
He was wearing a musle fit polo shirt short sleeved in black.
With grey dress pants and black shoes.
His eyes were an ocean or sky blue.
She felt her stomach flip. And her skin grow hot.
When his gaze locked on hers.
His hand was extended to hers.
She took ahold of it. And felt her throat go dry.
"Lucas Scott. I come here enough to know without a doubt. That i've never seen you before. Who are you.?" He asked.
Brooke looked him up and down. "Wouldn't you like to know. Brooke. That's all you're getting out of me. I don't talk to strangers. No matter how good looking or charming they may be." She replied.
"Let's talk. Here. Outside. Then we won't be strangers." He insisted.
"I should go. It was nice meeting you." Brooke said. Turning from him. As she rushed back into the crowd of people.

Hours Later
In the morning
Brooke/Peyton's House
The two women had lived here together since returning from college.
Peyton poured out the last of the cereal and orange juice in front of her.
Brooke emerged from her bedroom smiling widely.
"We got separated last night. What happened.?" Peyton asked. Eating a large mouthful of cinnamon toast crunch.
"I met a man. His name is Lucas Scott. Blond hair. Blue eyes. He's tall. He smelled like beer, His cologne smelled like peppermint, outdoors, and cinnamon." Brooke recalled.
Peyton stared hard at her best friend.
"What are you looking at me like that for.?" Brooke asked.
"Knowing you. You probably told him you're first name then left." She replied.
"It's called being mysterious. I was up late. Thinking about our first encounter. I'm not going to cyber stalk him that isn't romantic. Plus i doubt i'll see him again." Brooke stated.
