OPENING SEQUENCE
Wiz: Gods. Divine beings that rule over our world. From life to death, there is one for everything.
Boomstick: But just like any mere mortal, they can bang a chick and make a kid. A kid with awesome powers no ordinary man or woman can wield!
Wiz: Like Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon and savior of Olympus.
Boomstick: And Mal, wicked daughter of Hades and Maleficent. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!
FIGHTER 1: PERCY JACKSON
(Son of Poseidon- Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief film score)
W: Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. Brother to Zeus and one of the most well-renowned gods in the Greek Pantheon. After learning from the Oracle of Delphi that a half-blood child from either himself or his brothers could cause the downfall of Olympus, Poseidon took an oath to father no children.
B: But King Deep got the hots for a mortal woman named Sally Jackson and banged her, breaking that oath. Knowing he was in some deep shit, Poseidon ran away and left Sally with some instructions of what to do with their son.
W: And that son was Perseus Jackson.
B: Percy was what you would call a troubled kid, having been kicked out of just about every school he went to. From accidentally dropping his entire class into an aquarium tank to blowing up his school bus with a war cannon, this kid's had it rough.
W: Percy's only real friend was Grover Underwood, who was later revealed to be a satyr after Percy survived both an attack from a Fury and the Minotaur. And he helped Percy arrive at the one place that could keep him safe: Camp Half-Blood.
B: Which is basically a summer camp for demigods. Let's see, we've got the daughter of Athena, the son of Hermes, the daughter of Ares, the son of Hades, the daughter of Zeus, the hot daughters of Aphrodite-
W: That's far enough, Boomstick. Anyway, Percy learned that he was accused of theft, and war between gods was inevitable. The only way Percy could stop this is if he returned what he supposedly stole back to the gods before the summer solstice.
B: Wait, what did the gods think he stole, exactly?
W: Lightning.
B: Wait, what?! How can a guy steal lightning?!
W: This wasn't just any lightning. This was Zeus' Master Bolt, the source of his power. And in his quest to retrieve it and return it to the gods, Percy battled many Greek monsters, including Medusa and the Hydra. And alongside his friends Grover, Annabeth, and several others, Percy became part of a prophecy that determined the future of Olympus, which explained he was either destined to save it or destroy it.
B: And having the powers of a god can be freaking sweet! Thanks to his daddy Poseidon, Percy can be underwater for long amounts of time, has hydrokinesis that allows him to change the state of water, and has an awesome trident he can make out of water! Yes, Wiz, I know it's not a pitchfork.
W: And thanks to being a demigod, Percy has superhuman strength, endurance, speed, and other abilities. He can use water to heal fatal injuries, create giant aquatic hands that mimic the movements of his own, analyze his opponent to predict their attacks, and has dyslexia.
B: What? How is a language disorder supposed to help him?
W: Because all demigods are hardwired to understand Ancient Greek instead of English, Boomstick.
B: Oh, now I wish I was a demigod. I would've understood those foreign language classes better.
W (holding up a pen): Percy's most trusty weapon is Riptide, or Anaklusmos in Greek.
B: Wiz… that's a pen.
W: Is it? (he clicks it and a blade appears, surprising Boomstick)
B: Ah! Oh, God!
W: Forged from Celestial Bronze, Riptide is a medium-length xiphos, a Greek one-handed, double-edged sword. It is deadly to both gods and monsters. However, it is completely harmless to mortals, as it just phases through them like so. (he turns to Boomstick)
B: Wait, what are you- (Wiz thrusts Riptide into him and the blade passes through him harmlessly) AAH, HOLY ****! Oh, wait… I don't feel anything. Wait… does that mean I'm already dead?!
W (pulls Riptide out): Percy also has several other Greek weaponry at his disposal, including the Minotaur's horn, winged shoes, an expandable shield, and the head of Medusa. (he pulls out each item one by one, and Medusa's head turns Boomstick's beer can to stone.)
B: Hey!
W: Percy has also been known to communicate telepathically to other gods and demigods, namely his father, and possess immunity to heat, although these powers are limited like some others.
B: And despite being the son of one, Percy has done some pretty godly stuff on his own! He destroyed a glacier, survived an explosion the size of a cruise ship, stood up against foes like Ares, the Titans, and the Nemean Lion, scaled up to this lightning-blocking dude, blew up Mount Saint Helens, and even held up the freaking sky!
W: Well, he could only do that because Poseidon told him he had a pure heart. Anyway, Percy was deemed one of the most powerful demigods of his generation, eventually fulfilling the great prophecy and preventing Olympus from destruction.
B: Yeah, no kidding! Most demigods don't even make it to his age!
W: Grateful to Percy, the gods and goddesses of Olympus offered Percy the greatest gift they could offer: immortality. Although this seemed tempting, Percy declined, preferring to spend his days as a mortal among his friends.
B: Aw, so much for a successor, Poseidon. But hey, when there's any half-blood you can count on to wash away trouble, Percy's the right mortal for the job!
Percy: Yeah… I think I am the son of Poseidon.
FIGHTER 2: MAL
(Rotten to the Core - Descendants score)
W: Maleficent. Evil incarnate. The witch who cursed Princess Aurora to an endless sleep and was vanquished by the valiant Prince Phillip. The most notorious villain of all of Disney history. You may know her story- either in Sleeping Beauty or the live-action movies with Angelina Jolie- but what you don't know is that the Mistress of All Evil… has a daughter.
B: After being banished to a forbidden island, Maleficent mothered a child that was just as bad as her. She was evil. She was cruel. She was ruthless. She was… Maleficent.
Mal: Beware, foreswear, undo Jane's hair. (casts a spell)
W: Maleficent Bertha, or Mal to avoid any confusion, grew up on the Isle of the Lost, an island home to the evilest villains in the Disney universe. While building a reputation of everyday mischief and graffiti art, she joined forces with three other VKs, or Villain Kids, on the Isle. Jay, the son of Jafar, Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen, and Carlos, the son of Cruella de Vil.
B: Mal was the baddest girl on the block, and she loved it! Making trouble is what truly makes her feel at home. And she didn't want things to be any different… until Mom came with some news.
Maleficent: You four have been chosen to go to a different school… in Auradon.
Mal: What?!
W: Ben, the son of Belle and the Beast, had recently become king and gave his first proclamation: the kids from the Isle needed to attend Auradon Prep, as he believed it would give them a second chance at life and possible redemption. However, Mal and the other VKs arrived at the school with a mission: to steal the Fairy Godmother's wand. With it, Maleficent would break the barrier around the Isle and bend good and evil to her will.
Evil Queen: Our will.
W: Their will. Sorry.
B: Wanting to prove to her mommy dearest she was just as wicked as her, Mal was determined to get that Hogwarts tool by any means necessary. But after falling in love with Ben and conflicted about what side to choose, Mal chose to be good and be who she wanted to be, not what her mom wanted.
W: Ever since, Mal has dealt with outer and inner conflicts, defending Auradon from threats and continuing to walk the line between good and evil. Even though she's dedicated to doing good in Auradon, there's no denying that bad runs in her blood.
B: Thanks to being the daughter of the Mistress of All Evil herself, Mal is a powerful magic-user. Using incantations in her spellbook, she can manipulate the actions of both people and inanimate objects, undo the effects of other spells, levitate objects, and escape traps she is caught in.
W: She's also a skilled swordfighter, able to keep up with her pirate rival Uma, the daughter of Ursula, in a duel. And did I forget to mention that her father is Hades himself? (shows clips of Hades from the Hercules movie) Yep, that Hades. The one with all the anger issues.
B: As if Mal wasn't bad enough! And I mean that in a good way! On top of having witch powers, she also has god powers thanks to her daddy being the freaking god of the underworld! She can conjure the fires of the Underworld itself- which is just a fancy way of saying Greek hellfire-, and her powers are boosted with Hades' Ember, which is known to be the strongest magical object in the world. One of its nifty abilities is to drain a target of its magic, leaving them completely powerless. But unfortunately, the thing can't stand water. One little soak and it's just a normal gem. Oh, and speaking of water, since the Isle of the Lost has a barrier around it, Mal never learned how to swim. Hmm… that doesn't sound good.
(cut to Wiz and Boomstick)
W: Mal also has some experience with her mother's scepter (he holds it). Also known as the Dragon's Eye, Maleficent's staff has a variety of abilities, including shooting lightning, knocking people out in a mystical sleep, and even turning people to stone. (the scepter activates and Boomstick is accidentally turned to stone) Uh… oops. Still getting the hang of this thing. (he slams it on the ground and unfreezes Boomstick)
B: Ugh… we shall never speak of this again.
W: Speaking of her mother, Mal carries another trait originally acquainted with the evil fairy. If Mal becomes enraged enough, she can transform into a monstrous dragon.
B: Oh, hell yeah! Don't make her angry. You won't like Mal when she's angry.
W: As a dragon, Mal has durable scales and can cause massive gusts of wind with powerful wings. She can remain as a dragon for as long as she wishes and can return to human form at will.
B: This half-witch, half-demigoddess is a master manipulator and a creative planner, as she tricked Uma into using a fake wand. She could match the magical powers of Jafar's Snake Staff combined with the kids' Birthright Jewels and overpower this one dude who used to have a crush on her, Zevon.
W: It's no wonder she became the new Queen of Auradon and got engaged to King Ben. Mal may have gotten her happily ever after… but sometimes her mischievous side slips out, reminding her that she'll always be rotten to the core.
Mal: Feels good to be bad. (opens a door using magic and proudly walks out) So good to be bad.
PRELUDE TO BATTLE
W: Alright, the combatants are set! Let's end this debate once and for all and find which teen is truly godly!
B: It's time for a DEATH BATTLLEEEEE!
THE FIGHT
The scene opens in a Greek-style area. Mount Olympus can be seen looming high in the distance and storm clouds fill the sky. A boy walks along a pathway flanked by statues of the Greek gods. He stops upon noticing graffiti on a wall. It reads "Long Live Evil".
Unamused, the boy conjures water from a nearby fountain and uses it to wash the paint away. He smiles happily… and then sees more graffiti on buildings and near some of the statues. One of them is defaced with doodles on the head (glasses, eye patch, fake mustache, etc). The boy groans.
Percy Jackson: Zeus is not gonna be happy about this. (He looks to the sky) From the looks of things, he already isn't.
Percy continues walking along the path until he hears a spraying sound. Up ahead, a figure in black and purple is spraying another wall. Narrowing his eyes and taking out a pen, Percy advances until he is parallel to the statue of Poseidon.
Percy: Hey, you! What do you think you're doing?!
The girl stops her work and turns to Percy with a glint in her eye. Setting the spray paint down, she walks towards him.
Mal: Something bad, that's what. This place could use a bit of misbehavior, don't you think?
Percy: I know some guys who are gonna be pretty upset about this. Some guys who are big, and have swords, and… and stuff. So tell you what, you leave this place right now, and you won't get wet.
Mal: (chuckles) Ha! You have no idea who I am, do you? I'm the daughter of the vilest, evilest, most despicable villain in the entire world. I'm the one who should be warning you.
Percy: Oh, yeah? You see that guy right there? (he points to the Poseidon statue) He's not just the king of the seas, missy. He's also my dad. Last chance, leave or get soaked.
Mal (nears the Hades statue and points to it): Oh, you know who I'm also the daughter of? This guy.
Percy: Wait… Bianca? Is that you?
Mal: (scoffs) The name's Mal, you do-gooder! And you just messed with the wrong VK. (she draws a sword)
Percy takes out his pen. At the sight of it, Mal laughs hysterically.
Mal: Seriously? A pen? You must be dumber than I thought.
Percy: Well, you'll find I'm full of surprises. (he clicks the pen and Riptide reveals itself. Taken aback at the blade, Mal smirks deviously and giggles. The two take their stances in front of the statues of their respective fathers as a light rain begins to fall.)
Between the Hades and Poseidon statues, the Zeus statue seems to look down on the teenage demigods, as if their uncle is spectating. A bolt of lightning flashes in the sky and a roar of thunder tears through the air.
As if the king of the gods himself has signaled, Percy and Mal charge at each other. The two teens meet in the rain in a clash of swords, pushing against each other. Glaring each other in the eye, the two break apart and engage in a duel. The swords clash, again and again, glinting in the rain. Mal strikes with precision and tries to be unpredictable, but Percy counters her every advantage. He starts getting the upper hand by parrying strikes and deflecting thrusts. He even manages to scratch Mal's arm, who flinches.
Mal blocks a strike from behind her back and parries Percy, who ducks under a swipe after suffering a scrape. After smacking her in the face with his pommel, Percy grabs Mal's sword and holds it behind her head while pointing his own at her throat.
Percy smirks victoriously, expecting Mal to yield. Instead, the girl smiles mischievously and her eyes glow bright green. Percy's expression changes to confusion.
Mal thrusts out a hand and blasts Percy away with green fairy magic, making him tumble to the ground. Percy lifts himself back up and looks back to Mal, who now has two things in hand: her spellbook and her mother's staff.
Percy charges and Mal blasts him with lightning from the staff, knocking him to the ground again. Percy lands near a fountain and gasps in pain. As Mal laughs, he reaches inside and allows the water to heal his wounds.
Mal: I hope you brought more than swordplay.
Percy: Then you won't be disappointed. (he gets up and runs at Mal, who turns to her spellbook)
Mal: Twist of hand and twist of fate, leave the ground and levitate! (she points her staff at Percy and green magic hits him)
Percy suddenly stops in his tracks and starts floating into the air. He flails about, trying to right himself in his confusion.
Percy: Whoa! What the-?! (Mal flicks a finger with a smirk, sending Percy flying off into the air.) AAAAH! (he smashes into a building and collapses to his knees)
Mal walks forward with staff in hand. She fires another lightning blast at Percy, who blocks it with Riptide. He stands and jogs towards her, deflecting bolt after bolt while blocking others with his extendable shield. Gritting her teeth, Mal grunts and fires a continuous stream of lightning, forcing Percy to block it with his shield and constantly slide back.
Percy grunts and tries to hold back Mal, but the lightning is nearly too much for him.
Poseidon: The water will give you power.
Percy looks over a cliff and sees the ocean. He looks around him and sees the raindrops. Narrowing his eyes, Percy grunts again and raises a hand, focusing with all his might. Meanwhile, Mal continues to advance on him with her mother's staff.
Suddenly, she pauses when she notices the raindrops freeze in their path… and change their direction, rising above her head. Fountain water levitates into the air. The lightning fades as Mal's confusion takes hold, watching the rising water as her mouth drops open and her eyes widen.
A loud rushing sound draws her attention to the cliffs, where the sea seems to ascend. Giant tentacles of water extend from the surface and snake up to the cliff. Mal finally looks to Percy, who now has both arms raised above his head with his weapons nowhere to be seen. His face is frozen in sheer pressure and force as tries to harness the huge amount of water.
Mal grips her staff tightly, slightly backing away as she looks at the floating water in all directions. She looks to Percy, readying to electrocute him with another bolt…
Percy yells as he thrusts his arms in front of him, directing the water at Mal. The daughter of Maleficent and Hades only manages to cry out before being swallowed up, vanishing within the raging tides. Tumbling inside the depths, Mal loses her grip on the staff and air escapes her lungs.
The rushing water engulfs the area and sweeps away anything light. Before long, Percy spreads his arms wide with another yell, separating the water and making it rush past him like strong waves. When the last droplet leaves, the storm clears up. The rain stops falling and the sky is no longer filled with thunder and lightning. However, the clouds remain.
Mal lies motionless in the path, her hair and clothes completely drenched. Her eyes suddenly shoot open and she gasps for breath, choking up water and coughing heavily. Percy walks up to her as she wretches on the path.
Percy: I did warn you. There's no way a magic-user like you can compete with a demigod. Especially not the son of Poseidon. Now please, leave this place before I have to throw you into the ocean.
Mal coughs and sputters for a few more moments, one hand going into a pocket. Percy doesn't notice this and approaches Mal. He reaches out to lift her.
Mal lunges and blasts Percy with a blue stone: Hades' Ember. Percy flies away and lands flat on his back, panting for air. Mal stands up with the Ember in hand, calling her mother's scepter back to her hand and glaring at Percy maliciously.
Mal: Your dad may be the god of the sea, but my dad is the god of the underworld itself! I'm not just a simple spellcaster! And I can prove it to you!
Percy stands up and conjures a trident of high-density water, holding it in both hands. He points it at Mal steadily.
Percy: Then bring it on.
Both demigods charge at each other and clash with trident and scepter. Thunder and lightning once again break across the sky, symbolizing the calm in the storm has ended. Mal pins Percy's trident to the ground and strikes with both ends of her scepter. Blocking each attack, Percy twirls his trident and slams it down. Mal sidesteps and jabs, firing off a magical blast that Percy evades. He counters with a swift slice, nearly breaking Mal's grip on the staff.
The two lock weapons and Mal jumps, giving Percy a strong kick that knocks him down. He scrambles back to his feet and Mal backflips away. The daughter of Maleficent spots some suits of armor tucked away into buildings, which gives her a devilish smirk and giggle.
Mal: Suits of armor strong and true, make this metal bust a move!
The suits suddenly jerk and come to life, stepping out into the pathway. At Mal's command, they charge at Percy. Caught off guard at this, Percy blocks the armors' swords and strikes back at them, summoning currents of water from puddles to smash some apart. He parries a sword and stabs a suit right through the chest plate. He spins his trident, decapitating another and making its helmet fall to the ground.
While Percy continues to battle the suits of armor, Mal turns to her soaked spellbook and shakes it of water droplets. She flips to a partially-ruined page.
Mal: Wing of bat and raven's eye, lift me up into the sky!
Mal floats into the air and surveys the struggle. She lifts the staff high over her head. Just as Percy finishes off the last of the suits, he looks around for any sign of Mal. Her cry from above alerts him, and he barely manages to avoid her next attack in time.
Mal slams the staff into the ground, creating a magical shockwave that knocks Percy off his feet. He quickly gets back up just as Mal runs at him again. The two demigods lock weapons and clash until Percy hooks Mal's arm between the blades of his trident and throws her over his shoulder.
Mal rolls away from the following slam and stands back up before Percy locks his trident in her staff. Percy pushes Mal along the ground until she catches herself and stands, holding Hades' Ember and blasts Percy back. The jewel glows a bright blue and she draws her arm back, ready to drain Percy.
Percy: Oh, no, you don't! (he throws his trident at Mal, which strikes her arm. She cries out and falls. Making sure Hades' Ember is still dry, Mal stands back up.)
Mal: Try but you will never harm me, buried under my own army!
Percy looks up to see suits of armor raining down from the sky, forcing him to flee. While he evades the falling suits, Mal advances with an evil glare in her glowing green eyes. She holds out Hades' Ember, summoning the Fires of the Underworld to erupt from the ground and serve as obstacles for Percy to veer around. One flame erupts from right underneath him, making him yell in alarm.
Percy collapses and activates his shield, protecting himself from the flames. From one pit, fireballs are launched at him. Deflecting them with his shield, Percy angles his shield so that one fireball is reflected at Mal, hitting her in the chest and making her cry out. She drops Hades' Ember and Percy soaks it with water from a puddle, reducing it to a normal gemstone.
Mal clutches her burn mark in pain, struggling to stand. Percy lowers his shield and summons his water trident back into his hand. Mal's breathing becomes heavy and frantic and her glowing eyes become brighter.
Percy: Out of all the demigods I know… you're definitely the strangest. Y'know, for a daughter of Hades.
Mal (growling): You're not just fighting a daughter of Hades. Nor a daughter of Maleficent, Mistress of All Evil.
Percy (humored): Then what am I fighting?
Mal: All… the powers… of HELL! (she roars in anger and is surrounded by a purple mist that shields her from view. Percy staggers back, wide-eyed at the smoke. From what he can see inside, Mal's shadow expands and grows until two large wings emerge from the mist.
The purple smoke fades, revealing a huge dragon where Mal once stood. Two jade reptilian eyes open and focus on Percy… and the beast lets out an enraged roar at the son of Poseidon. Shocked at this revelation, Percy tries to calm himself.
Percy: Well, at least she didn't turn into a hydra…
Mal snaps at Percy, who jumps back and turns tail to run. With another roar, Mal chases after him, continuing to bite at the demigod. Percy swerves, ducks, and jumps over snapping jaws, feeling the wind conjured from roars on his back.
He turns to face Mal, who roars at him again. Grunting, Percy thrusts his trident at her face and jabs her snout. Reeling back, Mal tries to close her jaws around Percy, who is prepared this time. He shoves his trident right between Mal's jaws, propping them open. Snarling, Mal shakes her head wildly and throws Percy away, making him smash against a pillar.
Mal bites down hard, dissolving the trident into water. Snorting with smoke coming out of her snout, Mal turns to Percy and draws back. Percy peeks out from behind the pillar… and when he realizes what's happening, he gasps and takes cover.
Mal unleashes a blazing torrent of orange fire from her mouth, which forks around the pillar. The pillar acts as a shield for the duck-and-covering Percy, who feels the heat race by. Taking the chance, he slips on some winged shoes.
When the blaze stops, Percy makes a run for it and Mal gives chase. The dragon blasts fireballs at Percy that kick up debris. One fireball hits too close to Percy, knocking him to the ground. Smoke rises from his clothes and he groans weakly. His heat immunity has spared him most of the damage.
The winged shoes kick in and Percy takes flight, prompting Mal to do the same. Percy rolls across Mal's head to avoid a bite, running down her back. He tries to stab her with Riptide, but only manages to make minor impacts with the blade. With a flick of her tail, Mal throws Percy off of her. The winged shoes catch him and Percy tries to keep his balance…
...until a claw swipe from Mal sends Percy crashing to the ground below. Mal roars and dives for Percy, preparing to crush him under her feet.
Percy rolls away from Mal's claws, drawing Riptide and his shield. Mal roars and advances, snapping at him with her jaws. Percy twists and strikes at Mal's face, but barely makes a mark. A blast from a fireball knocks him away and makes him lose his shield. Mal rears up on her hind legs, her mouth wide open.
With his shield arm, Percy concentrates on a fountain and throws the water right at Mal's mouth, disrupting her next attack. With the dragon distracted, Percy summons more water to his side and swallows Mal with it as he did her human form. But this time, instead of allowing the depths to consume her, Percy shouts and makes a motion with his arms…
...and the water suddenly turns to ice. All but Mal's head and shoulder are frozen. Seeing her predicament, Mal bellows angrily and struggles to break free. She tries blasting the ice with fire, only for Percy to increase the hardness of the ice so it doesn't melt. After several unsuccessful blasts, Mal shrieks and thrashes about.
Percy: It's over! Please, let this end! Yield!
Mal refuses to comply, continuing to struggle. The ice starts to crack and shatter, prompting Percy to try and maintain its density. However, Mal's strength is too much for him to bear. With a loud, victorious roar, the ice shatters and Mal breaks free. She spreads her wings and launches into the sky, flying towards Percy.
Desperate, Percy draws Riptide and throws it as hard as he can at Mal. The sword flies for her chest… only for the blade to bounce off her scales. Percy moans in disbelief before he is forced to flee from another stream of fire breath.
Percy runs to the edge of the cliff and jumps off as Mal's jaws close on empty air. Confused, the dragon looks to see Percy falling towards the ocean below. He splashes through and Mal follows him down, flying just above the water's surface. Confused, Mal scans the surface of the ocean for Percy…
...until he bursts from the surface, riding a huge wave. Her eyes trained on him, Mal roars and flies for him at high speed. Right before she can grab Percy in her talons, the son of Poseidon directs a water current at the dragon to throw her off her path.
Percy brings the wave to a stop until he's standing on a stationary mound of water. He pulls out the Minotaur horn, ready to stab Mal with it. He thrusts the horn at the dragon when it nears, only for a talon to swat it out of his hand. The Minotaur horn splashes into the sea and vanishes beneath the waves.
Mal flies towards him again, prompting Percy to summon large hands made of water. He throws a hook with his right hand, making the aquatic appendage slam across Mal's face. He punches downward with his left hand, making that one crash down atop Mal's head.
Finally, Percy throws an uppercut with his right hand, sending the dragon reeling with a third punch. Roaring in fury, Mal blasts fire at the aquatic hands, causing steam to rise into the air. Percy makes the hands grab onto Mal's snout and hold on tight as she thrashes her head around. Percy uses the hands to punch Mal repeatedly, wearing her out with each hit.
Percy releases Mal once the dragon is exhausted, beating her wings to the best of her ability to stay airborne. Her eyes lock with Percy and she growls, unwilling to accept defeat. Percy narrows his own eyes and reaches for something in his hoodie.
Mal roars once more and charges for Percy. She opens her jaws and holds out her claws…
...and Percy holds out the head of Medusa with a yell.
Mal shrieks at the sight of it and staggers back as the head-snakes hiss. Howls erupt from her throat as her scales solidify, her limbs lock in place, and her wings freeze up. Her green eyes turn gray, as does the rest of her scaly body. Even before her petrification is complete, Mal drops out of the sky and smashes into the sea.
Mal bobs up and down in the waves, now frozen as a dragon statue in a pose of pain. Her mouth is open in a silent cry as she slips under the water, sinking to the very bottom and the depths below.
As she sinks out of sight, Percy only stares at her form regretfully before taking off across the ocean. He rides a wave out into the horizon, watching the sky finally clear up.
THE AFTERMATH
DB Announcer: KO!
B: Wow, Hades is gonna be pissed. Good thing Perc is well-schooled in God-Fighting 101!
W: Despite being the offspring of the two most evil characters in the Disney universe, Mal was ill-prepared to fight a demigod as strong as Percy Jackson.
B: Yeah, because she can't freaking swim. That's a very useful thing to have when fighting someone who can control water.
W: It wasn't just that she couldn't swim, Boomstick. Mal may be a demigoddess, but her usage of Hades' Ember was limited. Due to being young and inexperienced, Mal couldn't use the Ember as well as her father could. Thus, she couldn't reach her full potential with it.
B: And Hades' Ember's greatest weakness is getting wet. Just one little drop of H2O and that thing's just a little rock until it can get dry again. Once Percy knew the Ember was the greatest tool in Mal's hands, he knew he had to take it out fast.
W: And Percy could take just about anything Mal could throw at him thanks to his superhuman durability. Even his limited heat immunity allowed him to withstand Mal's fire attacks in her dragon form.
B: And in terms of magic, this seemed kinda one-sided. I mean, Mal has a spellbook that'll let her do whatever the hell she wants, while Percy's got… almost nothing. Except for extreme waterbending skills. Think Mal has any fire spells in her book for that?
W: Even if Mal could manage to land a fatal blow on Percy, the son of Poseidon could just heal himself with the closest water source he could find. And while Mal was extremely durable in her dragon form to avoid the same fate as her mother in the original Sleeping Beauty, it could not save her from the petrification powers of Medusa.
B: Looks like this bad girl's wickedness waved goodbye.
W: The winner is Percy Jackson.
