The Ultimate Detective and The Ultimate Hope Gaiden: Kyoko's Final Pregnancy!
"Thanks for taking Kiki and Mokubo trick-or-treating this year." Makoto thanked as his parents stood next to his children, dressed in Halloween costumes. "One of us would have gone with them, but…"
Makoto glanced at his wife, who gave a weakened smile as the fatigue from her current pregnancy wore down on her. She cradled her belly with her hands and her legs felt like iron.
Hana smiled and assure her "It's okay, Makoto. We understand that Kyoko needs you with her, and besides, the little ones look adorable in their Halloween costumes!"
The adults smiled as they looked at Kiki, who was dressed in her witch costume, and Mokubo, who for simplicity's sake was dressed up as a samurai. Kiki then walked up to her mom and hugged her engorged belly before she nuzzled it with her nose.
"Alright, you be good for Mommy, okay? Try not to wear her out; carrying you in her belly is really tiring for her."
The adults smiled again before Makoto urged "Alright, run along now pumpkin, or you'll miss trick-or-treating."
Kiki nodded "I will, Dad! Bye, Mom!"
"Bye, Kiki! Bye, Mokubo!" Makoto and Kyoko waved as their family left the foyer and their father closed the door behind him.
"Alright, I'll go get the bowl of candy. Are you okay with just pulling the door open?"
Kyoko nodded and waddled into position while Makoto walked into the kitchen to get the candy bowl.
"Makoto! The trick-or-treaters are here!" Kyoko called as the doorbell rang.
"I'm coming!" Makoto called back as he hurried back with the candy.
Kyoko nodded and opened the door, just before a familiar chorus rang in their ears.
"Trick-or-Treat!"

"Kyoko? Are you okay?"
Kyoko gave him a pained smile as she started to breathe heavily before she assured him "It's okay, Makoto…I'm just feeling fatigued, that's all."
"Here, let's sit you down do you can rest." Makoto insisted as he helped Kyoko walk to a nearby chair that she promptly collapsed into.
As Kyoko began to breathe normally, Makoto walked over to the light switch and shut off the outside lights, darkening their front entrance.
"There, that should keep the trick-or-treaters away." Makoto sighed before he walked over to his wife. He kneeled in front of her and rested his hands on her belly as he asked "Kyoko, are you sure you're okay?"
Kyoko sighed and admitted "I've…had better days. I don't ever remember feeling this bloated when I was pregnant with Kiki or Mokubo. I just feel so tired, it feels like I can barely move around at all."
Makoto bit his lip as he thought Kyoko's never talked about her own exhaustion like this. She must be really exhausted if she's talking like this. "…Maybe…we should have you take your maternity leave."
Kyoko nodded and agreed "Yes, I think that's for the best. And…I've been thinking lately…"
"Go on…" Makoto encouraged.
Kyoko sighed and admitted "Kiki's pregnancy wasn't too bad. I was more fatigued by Mokubo's pregnancy, but it was still perfectly manageable. But this…I feel like I can barely function. If we have a fourth baby and they make me feel even more drained…I don't know how I'll be able to carry them to term."
"Kyoko…do you…"
Kyoko nodded and confirmed "Yes. I'd like this baby…to be our last. I feel bad because I promised you at our wedding that I'd carry as many of your children as you wanted to have, but…I can't…"
Kyoko was silenced by a chaste, yet loving kiss by her husband that seemed to drain all her worries away. Just as she began to relax into the kiss, Makoto broke it off and smiled lovingly at her.
"Kyoko, you've given me two amazing children, plus one more on the way." Makoto glanced down at her bloated belly and planted a kiss on it through the fabric of her shirt before he looked back up at her and assured her "I'm not upset that you want this to be our last. Your health comes first, and if you don't feel like you can healthily carry a fourth baby, then I'll be perfectly satisfied with the three children we already have."
"Makoto…" Kyoko smiled lovingly at her husband as she focused on the warm feeling of his hands on her womb. "There's…one more thing." Kyoko told him "I don't want to chance having a delayed trip to the hospital when I go into labor this time."
Makoto nodded as he recalled the sudden fog that blanketed the road on their way to Mokubo's birth.
"So I…I'd like this baby to be born at home, if that's okay."
Makoto smiled and nodded "Okay. I'll see if I can get Mikan to be your midwife. She delivered our last two children, so I trust her to be a midwife for our third. And I'll see if I can get Mom to help take care of you while I'm at work."
Kyoko nodded and agreed "Yes, thank you, Makoto. You've been so good to me."
Makoto grinned and replied "Hey, anything for my wife. Speaking of which, let me make feel at least a little bit more comfortable."
Makoto then proceeded to soothingly rub his wife's belly, his fingertips pressing against her taut skin in soothing circles. Kyoko leaned back and moaned in pleasure as she allowed her husband's gentle ministrations to ease her aches and exhaustion.
Makoto…thank you so much, for everything. I love you.

"Um…I'm here for Kyoko's first a…appointment…" Mikan timidly announced as Makoto opened the door.
Makoto smiled and greeted "Mikan, thank you for agreeing to be Kyoko's midwife, we really…oh…" Makoto's eyebrows raised in curiosity as he took in the slight bump at Mikan's abdomen and asked "Mikan, you're…"
"P…pregnant…" Mikan confirmed. "Nagito and I…we got married recently. And we…we decided to have a ba…baby. I just hope the baby doesn't ha…hate me."
Makoto smiled and replied "Kyoko had the same worries when we were expecting Kiki. Well, congratulations to you and Nagito, Komaeda-san."
"Actually, it's Tsumiki." Nagito's cheerful voice rang out as leaned his head into view. "We agreed that I'd take her last name instead. While Mikan graciously helped me to realize that I'm not worthless trash, I still preferred to take her last name to her taking mine. Of course, I've resolved to work extra hard to become someone worthy of one as talented as her!"
Mikan nodded and confirmed "It's true. Ever since we got engaged, he's been working as my assistant, and he's been studying hard to learn medicine so that we can work alongside each other."
"I see, that's very admirable of you." Makoto smiled and stepped away, allowing them to enter as he complimented "Well I know that Kyoko will be in good hands."
Mikan blushed in embarrassment before Nagito asked "So, where is she anyway?"
"Oh, she's in the bedroom with my mom. Come on, I'll bring you to her."
Mikan and Nagito nodded as they followed Makoto, sharing smiles before they quickly hid them as Makoto glanced over his shoulder.
Makoto caught them however and smiled at the young love behind him as he thought They look really cute together, and I'm happy for them. I just hope Nagito's luck doesn't cause any complications for Kyoko…
