This whole process is so tedious, Loki thought, following behind Stark and his wretched brother, Thor. He had been walking for what seemed like hours with his hands tied in front of him and his mouth clamped with one of Thor's magical items. He walked behind his brother and Tony Stark, who was holding a briefcase with Loki's most prized possession: his Scepter.

Loki remembered when it was first given to him by Thanos, the most powerful being in the universe. It was after Thor had left his banishment on Earth and thwarted his rule on Asgard by freeing his father. Or, rather, who Loki had always believed was his father. After faking his death, Loki sought out an Infinity Stone. He would have been fine with any one of them. As long as a being was strong enough to wield one any stone would give them unbelievable power. That being would have the power to destroy civilizations. Or rule them.

Thanos had sent one of his servants to find Loki, and make him a deal. Thanos would give him the Mind Stone, and he would use it to retrieve the Space Stone on Earth, and in turn Loki could rule over the primitive planet. He was being handed the stone on a silver platter. It was a double win for Loki, as he would be able to rule a planet as he had desired for so long, and punish the humans who gave Thor shelter while he was exiled. If he were to betrayThanos, and not give the Mind Stone back to him, there would be no one who could stand in his way.

Except for the Avengers. Apparently Earth had a special force of super-powered beings to protect it from threats like him, and apparently, Thor was on that team. Once again, he had been bested by his horrible adoptive brother, who had decided to join this team, even after having everything he could ever want on Asgard. The same brother who was supposed to believe Loki was dead, and be mourning him with his "family." The same brother who, even after starting a war with the Frost Giants and being exiled to Earth, which made his father almost die of stress, leaving the people of Asgard vulnerable, and after Loki stepped up and ruled in his father's absence, was still favored by their parents. The brother that was the true son of Odin, instead of the piece of trash Frost Giant, who Odin decided to save as a baby after murdering his actual family and raised as their own without ever telling him about his past for over 1500 years, but not willing to let rule because of his heritage. His brother cared not for him, but only about bringing him down. How could he ever let Loki rule over something? How could a Frost Giant ever have anything he wanted?

Thinking about this, Loki unconsciously tried to grab his sceptre and stab Thor through his back, only to realize that his hands were tied and his sceptre was in a briefcase, being taken away. All he could do was follow Thor and Stark throughout Stark Tower, and wait for the perfect opportunity to escape.

"May I ask you where you are going?" An old, blond man in a suit said, leading a crowd of Government officials to Thor, Stark, and Loki.

"To lunch, and Then Asgard," Thor responded. "I'm sorry, you are…?"

"Alexander Pierce," Stark told Thor. "He's the man above the folks above Nick Fury."

"My friends call me Mr. Secretary. I'm going to have to ask you to hand that prisoner over," Pierce said.

"Loki will be answering to Odin himself," Thor said. Loki's head perked up at the sound of his name.

"No, he's going to be answering to us. Odin can have what's left." Loki smirked under his mouth guard. This could be just the distraction he needed. "I'm gonna need that case, that's been S.H.I.E.L.D. property for over seventy years."

The government officials and the two Avengers began to argue over the briefcase which held the Mind Stone. Loki stood off to the side and watched. Suddenly, Stark gasped and dropped the briefcase, before collapsing onto the ground. In the background, someone called for a medic, as everyone crowded around Stark and tried to figure out what was wrong with him. Loki wasn't paying attention to all that, as he briefcase was left unattended next to the crowd. Seemingly out of nowhere, it slid across the floor, and reached the feet of a security guard. The guard picked it up and started to walk the other way. Loki would have run after the guard, but he knew that someone would notice that the most dangerous prisoner in the history of the planet was running off. But he had to get it somehow. He was the God of Mischief, for Odin's sake. He thought of taking the form of a security guard, and picking it up. That would have been a good idea, but his hands were still tied, and once they found out Loki was missing, he would be caught immediately. He could take the form of the security guard, and then project an image of himself to where he was supposed to be standing. If anyone tried to touch him, though, he would be done for.

Luckily for him, Loki didn't have to try any of these tricks. Hulk, a giant, green, rage monster who was the reason for most of his current injuries, blasted through the doors of the elevator, and knocked the security guard over and sent the briefcase flying. This time, it landed by Loki's feet, wide open. Oh, thank Odin. Another chance! Loki thought, as he picked up the glowing, blue cube and used it to open a portal. He quickly looked around him to make sure no one was looking, and then stepped through. It was another chance for him, indeed, and he knew exactly what he was going to do.
