Andrew walked out of gym class, exhausted. Sweat was dripping down his skin, but he was glad that it was over. He took a shower, before going back to his locker. His friends asked him if he wanted to join them, but he declined, saying that he was feeling stiff from having sat down in detention all day on Saturday.

I can't believe I actually thought those shitheads were my friends! Andrew thought. He decided to go look for other members of the Breakfast Club. Gym class was the first lesson, and so he had some time in-between lessons to look for them.

He was going to his locker to retrieve what he needed for the next lesson, when he paused. Allison was there, waiting for him. Andrew was slightly disappointed that she had gone back to wearing the black clothes that she wore on Saturday that hid her beautiful figure, her bangs hiding her lovely face.

"Hi." Andrew said, not sure on what to say next.

"Hello." Allison responded, clutching her huge, black bag close to her chest.

They looked at each other in silence for 10 seconds, before Andrew decided to be brave and do something he had never done before.

"Do you want to bunk off the rest of the day?" He asked.

Allison looked down, thought about it for a few seconds then nodded.

"Do your parents still ignore you?" Andrew asked as they walked slowly towards the exit.

Allison nodded sadly.

"Well then, let's go to your house, nobody will be able to find us." Andrew said.

Allison paused and looked at Andrew in surprise. "You want to go to my house? Really?"

"Well we can't go to mine, and I don't want to risk being seen in a public place." Andrew reasoned.

Allison nodded as she grabbed Andrew's hand. "Nothing's changed at yours either?"

"I will stop wrestling, but I need time to sort out plans for the future first." Andrew explained. He needed to make his father believe he was still going to try and get a scholarship for wrestling, while in reality he would try to get one for literally almost every other scholarship.

Allison made a motion with her head and she and Andrew ran out of school. Allison started laughing as they ran down the street, trying not to be noticed.

This girl is amazing! Andrew thought as they reached Allison's house. Allison tipped out the contents of her pockets and found the key. Fortunately for them, Allison's parents seemed to be at work, so Andrew and Allison didn't need to worry about sneaking in.

"Good thing your parents aren't home!" Andrew said with relief.

Allison nodded before she took a deep breath. "There's something I need to ask you..."

Andrew nodded.

"Well uh..it's just..." Allison had not needed to ask anyone anything for a long time. "It's just my clothes...I'm not sure I want to wear white, not all the time anyway..." She was afraid that Andrew would be dissapointed over the fact she had gone back to wearing black.

That explains her clothing Andrew realised. "Most people don't deserve to see your pure beauty."

Allison looked down and blushed.

"Have you seen any of the others?" Andrew was curious.

Allison shook her head.

"I ran into Brian in the hallway earlier, told me he's going to see a therapist to work through his problems." Andrew said.

"I'm glad. Do you think we will all still be friends or will it all fade away...like the moon...in the sky or something?" Allison said poetically

"I think we'll stay friends, social standings be damned." Andrew said with determination.

Allison was relieved. "So will you still find me attractive if I continue wearing black...at least some of the time?"

"I think you look great no matter what you wear." Andrew really wanted to get rid of Allison's self-doubt over her appearance and beauty.

Allison tipped out the contents of her bag. "Do you like this?" She asked as she picked up an expensive looking black leather jacket

Andrew nodded.

Allison slipped it on. "I er...picked it up at the weekend" She awkwardly explained.

"I see." Andrew said, trying to be understanding.

Allison paused and looked away. "Well, I can't be expected to change completely overnight, can I?"

"True." Andrew realised how stupid it was thinking that anyone could change so quickly in just a span of a day.

"After all, I'm a kleptomaniac...It takes time to change." Allison's words rung true.

"I understand." Andrew assured Allison.

"Do you think they will have noticed we're missing yet?" Allison grinned, referring to the school.

"If we stay out of public places, we can just say we forgot to respond to the register." Andrew said. Besides, he was a jock, who would dare to dare rat out a jock? And nobody would notice Allison's disappearance. Claire getting caught skipping school to go shopping only reinforced how dumb it was to go out in public to skip school

Allison laughed. "Well, I wasn't thinking of going into any public places. I usually only go out after midnight."

This perked Andrew's interest. "Where do you go?"

Allison hesitated, never having told anyone what she was about to tell Andrew. "I like to walk around what I call dead spaces." She just snuck out via the window and her parents were too busy ignoring her to notice.

"Dead spaces?" Andrew wasn't sure where the conversation was going.

"You know...the places where spirits reside..." said Allison mysteriously

"Right." Andrew had no idea what Allison was talking about, and decided to talk about something more normal and less mysterious. "I forgot to mention I saw Claire and John making out under the bleachers."

Allison giggled. "When? Did they see you?"

"Earlier today and they did." Andrew admitted.

"Did they say anything when they saw you?" Allison asked.

Andrew shook his head. "They waved at me before moving elsewhere."

"Was he still wearing her earring, or didn't you get that close?" Allison asked, having seen it happen from her parent's car as it drove home.

"He was." Andrew confirmed.

Allison smiled. "I wonder if they will stay together? They just seem so different."

"Hard to say." Andrew was not an expert when it came to relationships, and so he couldn't give much of an answer.

Allison nodded before she put some music on and sat on the floor.

"Nice music, what is it called?" Andrew asked.

"Grave Melodics. I find it very atmospheric." She laid back and started waving her arms about.

Andrew sat on the floor and watched Allison dancing, he was mesmerised by her as she continued dancing as if she was in a trance.

"You're a great dancer." Andrew admitted after a while.

"Well, I suppose I have my own style." Allison said as she stretched out her limbs. "What shall we do for the rest of the day? We have the whole day stretching ahead of us...like infinity...sort of."

She would make a great poet! Andrew admitted, before deciding to ask something he had been wondering for a while. "Have you ever been kissed?'

"That's a very direct question." Allison replied.

"You don't have to answer it if you don't want to." Andrew assured her, not wanting to create any discomfort.

"Well, I told you I am a pathological liar...so how would you know if I was lying or not?" Allison teased.

Andrew thought for a moment. "I kiss you, and see what your reaction is."

Allison nodded, giving permission for Andrew to kiss her, and closed her eyes in anticipation. Andrew went up to Allison, and kissed her on the lips, and he could eventually hear her repressing any moans.

When the kiss broke, Allison opened her eyes. She had a very childlike expression of wonder on her face.

"I think you should do it again, just so I can decide if I like it!" She said.

Andrew happily obliged. Allison could feel his warm lips on hers as he kissed her passionately.

"Do you like it?" Andrew asked once he finished

Allison smiled and nodded. "Can't you tell?" She said as she ran her finger down Andrew's arm. "It must be all that training...You are in very good shape." she said shyly.

"Yeah." Andrew acknowledged.

"Now, it's my turn to ask you something." Allison pointed out. "Have you kissed a lot of girls?"

"No." Andrew admitted. "A few cheerleaders, but they meant nothing."

"That's alright ,then." Allison grinned, "Cheerleaders don't count!"

"A majority of them are bimbos looking for jock boyfriends anyway." Andrew ranted.

"True. They are just groupies. But some of them are very attractive." Allison pointed out.

"What's the point of beauty without brains?" Andrew said poetically, Allison was starting to have an effect on him.

"My feeling exactly...Just pointless!" Allison threw her arms up, before her stomach grumbled. "Are you hungry? I could make you a sugar and crisp sandwich. It's my speciality?"

"Sure." Andrew was feeling a bit hungry after all that running.

Allison grinned as she led Andrew to the kitchen before she flung open all the kitchen cupboards and began opening loaves of bread and throwing them around the kitchen.

"This is the most entertaining food preparation I've ever seen." Andrew exclaimed.

"Preparing food can be so boring, I like to...liven it up." Allison explained. "Do you prefer brown or white sugar in your sandwiches?"

"White." Andrew replied.

Allison nodded as she opened several sachets of sugar and sprinkled them on the bread. "Pepsi, coke or would you prefer vodka?"

"Coke." Andrew said. Pepsi was just another name for Coke, and he was in too much of a good mood to get drunk.

"Good.I was just joking about the vodka, my mother keeps it locked up anyway!" Allison laughed as she opened the fridge and threw a can of coke at him "CATCH!"

Andrew used his great reflexes to catch it.

"Wow! Good catch. I can tell you are a natural athlete!" Allison said admiringly

"Well I can't risk you getting into trouble now can I?" Andrew teased.

"In trouble?" Allison was confused.

"If I didn't catch it and it smashed, then that would be trouble." Andrew quickly clarified.

"Yes that would give her a shock, my parents might think there'd been a break in!" Laughed Allison. "Which type of crisps do you prefer in your sandwich: salt & vinegar or prawn cocktail?"

"Salt and vinegar." Andrew replied.

"The healthy option, I might have guessed!" Allison poured the crisps on the sandwiches and began to squash them down. "Here you go, enjoy!"

Andrew and Allison ate their sandwiches.

"What do you think of my culinary skills?" Allison asked once they were finished with eating.

"Amazing!" Andrew admitted.

Allison smiled with delight as she skipped around the kitchen before flinging the plates in the sink. "What shall we do now?"

"I'm not sure." Andrew admitted. As long as it was with Allison, he didn't really care.

Allison thought for a moment. "I know! I always get sleepy after eating sugar and crisp sandwiches. Why don't we go and have a little nap in my room?"

Andrew nodded and Allison led him upstairs to her bedroom. The walls were painted black.

"Nice bedroom." Andrew said, looking around.

"Glad you like it, some people think it's scary having black walls, but I find it very therapeutic." Allison explained as she sat on the bed. "Don't tell Claire about the walls, I'm not ready to paint them white, well not yet, anyway."

"Maybe make them black and white stripes?" Andrew remembered where he had seen them before. "It would be like the cover for the Blondie album Parallel Lines"

"Brilliant idea! The other alternative would be to mix the paint, but that would be a boring grey. And I hate grey! Stripes it is!" Allison screamed in delight. "And I could dress just like Debbie Harry, and wear a blonde wig!"

"Ha, ha." Andrew replied, although it did make a nice mental image.

"So next time you come over, you have to promise to bring some white paint and we will transform this room!" said Allison excitedly.

"You got it!" Andrew said as he got onto the bed with Allison. They kissed each other on the lips briefly before holding each other as they went to sleep, happier than they had been for a very long time.
