Ash Tyler and Christopher Pike walked into the USS Enterprise transporter room after the conclusion of Starfleet's interrogations regarding the disappearance of the USS Discovery. Upon entering, Chris dismissed the technician, which Ash thought was a little odd, but he let the thought go. The two of them stood alone together as they each thanked the other for a successful outcome of their plan, and how they had each saved each other's lives. They shook hands and smiled at each other, but after a moment, neither of them let go of their hands.

The moment became a bit intense as they each dropped their smiles but not their hands. They continued to look each other in the eyes, each with uncertainty on what would come next.

Ash now understood why the technician had been dismissed. He took a very slight step toward Chris, even though they were already close, and now they were very close. They lowered their hands but were still gripped together. Chris decided to be the bold one, now that Ash had not backed off. He moved his face close to Ash's, closed his eyes and kissed him ever so lightly on the lips. Ash also closed his eyes, and accepted the first kiss, then returned it with another. The third kiss was just a bit more pressure applied by each of them mutually. Then they both stepped back and let their hands go, and continued to look at each other.

"So…" Ash started, to break the silence. "That happened."

Chris smiled and chuckled a bit, relieved. "I've never been attracted to another man before." He admitted, both confused and curious about what was happening.

"Me either. Although, I did experiment a little bit when I was a teenager."

"Oh? How did that go?" Chris said, genuinely interested in hearing about this.

"I decided that I like girls." Ash smiled and nodded.

"I like girls too. That's why I'm…. " Chris was searching for the right words and shaking his head. "I'm not sure where to go with this."

"I think…" Ash thought for a moment. "I think we'll find our way. Soon enough."

"Yes." Chris agreed. "I think we will."

Ash gave Chris a smile, and then turned and stepped up onto the transporter pad. Chris walked around to the controls and punched in the coordinates. Then he looked back up at Ash.

"Bye for now." He said.

Ash nodded. "Energize."

Chris pushed his hand forward on the controls, and the transporter rumbled and then beamed Ash away in a glittery shimmer. Chris stood there looking at the spot where Ash had just been standing. He thought to himself, that this was probably the weirdest and most awkward moment of his life. But he also liked it. He felt strangely satisfied. He had no idea what the two of them had in store for each other. He had never had a relationship quite like this before. He breathed a sigh in and out, and then exited the transporter room to continue on with his day.
