Ratchet's P.O.V.
This looks like a car accident involving one car losing control, but no, this is the result of the driver avoiding a con. We found the driver, a woman, a few feet away from the car. I don't know if the con got her out to continue their assault, or she got out, hoping to get help but passed out. As Prowl's holoform looks through the very damaged car, he finds a purse with a cell phone. She could have called for help: she was taken out of the car and assaulted.
"Jasmine Graham," Prowl reads from the license he found, "twenty-four years old. Lives twenty minutes from here."
"Ratchet, we need to go now!" Jolt stresses, his holoform sitting on his knees by Jasmine. Using my holoform, I help Jolt.
Everyone worries this young woman would have been dead if we came five minutes later, and she could still die. Glad our ground bridge technology is working. I don't do this often, but she's barely holding on. I'll transfer her to the hospital when she's more stable.

There's no time for scans; we need to do exploratory surgery. The evidence of internal bleeding is clear when I rip Jasmine's shirt off. Jolt calls the hospital for a large supply of O- blood before we begin the surgery; immediately, blood is rushing out of the first incision.
"She's in shock," Jolt observes, "hypovolaemic shock."
"We need help!"
Jolt quickly calls the other medics on our team, instructing First Aid to get the blood from the hospital before coming here.

It's a long six hours before the bleeding stops and organs are repaired. We lost Jasmine twice in that time. It's not looking good, and I dread telling her family this and that they can not sit by her.

When I walk into the conference room, I see Jasmine's parents are here, along with a woman who looks exactly like Jasmine. The same long black hair, blue eyes, and fair skin tone.
"Hello, Ratchet," the male says, "apologies if this is a surprise. I am a retired member of N.E.S.T. While the reason why isn't great, it's good to see you again."
"I'm sorry we aren't meeting because you've decided to rejoin us," I reply.
"No, my daughters are...," he trails off, uncertain how to finish the sentence.
"I don't know if I can if my sister dies," Jasmine's twin says as tears roll down her face.
I dread telling them what we think happened and how critical Jasmine is, how I don't know if she'll even recover, and for now, they can't be in the room with her.
"... she's very weak and prone to infections. You know the deadly ones, James, and Jasmine isn't strong enough to fight them."
I let the family see Jasmine even though it's through the viewing window.

Every day the family comes by, not caring if they can only see Jasmine through a window. I know they wonder when they can ask if Jasmine is improving. For now, Jasmine is holding up. I know Jasmine's twin, Yazmine, is thinking if she should continue with the plan to join N.E.S.T. now or wait until her sister recovers or dies. Then if Jasmine dies, should she go on with their dream?

Jasmine was holding up for five days, but she's taken a serious turn downhill. Jolt and I believe in giving the patients a fighting chance better than the human doctors we work with, but this time, we debate letting Jasmine go.
"W-what about Energon?" Yazmine asks, "I-I know it's normally deadly, but what if it can help Jasmine?"
"She-she'll die even if we don't try," James comments, "at least this could give her a fighting chance."
James breaks down in tears with his wife, Abbey.
"If you guys want to try it, we need to sign papers now. There's no time to think about it."
Jasmine's parents nervously agree to try this and sign the papers. I didn't know Prime contacted Rung. Not sure how well an Autobot psychiatrist can help humans, but this family needs support.

Jasmine is too weak for even a slow infusion; I will do small injections every couple of hours until I've given her what she would have gotten via an infusion. It's also easier to stop if the Energon is harming Jasmine. If she can tolerate the Energon, this will take at least two days. I'd rather not increase how much I inject every time I do an injection.

Yazmine's P.O.V
I remember coming here before N.E.S.T. was terminated, but instead of being filled with happy memories: I feel sad that I may be walking these halls alone when I join N.E.S.T. I know my sister would want me to continue our dream, but I don't know if I can. What good is joining N.E.S.T. if I'll be too depressed? Actually, I wonder if I'd be allowed to if Jasmine dies due to the fact I'll be depressed? I'm sure I — we — will have our chance at revenge. Unless Lennox deems that as a reason we can't join. I'm trying to think 'we' like Rung told my family and me, but it's impossible.

Ratchet's P.O.V
One week has passed; Jasmine is tolerating the Energon, but it's clear her injuries are severe for her not to wake up. At least she's off the ventilator and dialysis. Jasmine still needs oxygen support, but she's definitely healing faster than if she didn't have the Energon. Blood tests show she's not at risk for sepsis or other serious infections and that her body is accepting the Energon. She will survive, but I don't think the Energon will fully heal her like it normally would.
"At least she'll survive," Yazmine tries to be optimistic, "and you can help her recover."

I'm called into a meeting with Prime. Unusual, it's just him and me. I quickly Discover why. Both of us use our holoforms and sit at the table in the conference room.
"Me?" I protest.
"We know the cons don't stop hunting their prey until it's dead, and you will be with her helping her recover."
While all Autobots protect our human allies, sometimes one is assigned as a guardian to a human. However, I don't understand why I'm only guardian to Jasmine and not her family.
"James told me he can protect his wife, and Yazmine wants you to focus on Jasmine. It's unusual, but I'm doing what she wants. Ironhide will be her guardian."

Optimus Prime's P.O.V.
Yazmine has valid reasons why Ratchet should be Jasmine's guardian and why she wants Ironhide to be hers. This is a good sign Yazmine is healing mentally from seeing her sister close to death. Ratchet will discover why I assigned him to be Jasmine's guardian.

I visit Jasmine in the medbay. Her parents have just left, and Jolt— using his holoform— finishes the next round of medication. I already feel like I'm waiting for a soldier who's serving with us to wake up rather than a woman we saved from a Decepticon attack.
"Everything looks good; I don't know why she's not waking up," Jolt informs me.
"Then I believe she will soon."
"You really think Ratchet being her guardian is a good idea?"
Like Ratchet, Jolt doesn't know the reasons behind my decision. I tell him everything will work out.
