ATHENA'S POV
It was a normal day in Olympus, with all the fighting and bickering. I was bickering with Poseidon when Hermes suddenly shouted, "CAN YOU ALL SHUT UP?! I WANT TO CONCENTRATE ON MY GAME!"
"What game?" Artemis asked. Hermes gestured to the mortal smartphone he was holding. He seemed to be playing a video game.
"Which game is that?" Apollo asked, suddenly interested.
"It's called Among Us, and it's very simple. But only ten can play. Who all want to play?"
Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hephaestus, Demeter, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, and I raised our hands.
"Great! That makes 10, including me. I will now explain the rules." He took a deep breath before explaining.
"There are two types of players; Crewmates and Imposters. The game will decide which you are. The Crewmates' goal is to complete all their tasks. If all the Crewmates complete their tasks, they win. However, the Imposters don't have any tasks. Their goal is to kill all the Crewmates until there is only one left. Did you understand or do you want me to play once for you to see?"
I understood everything, but I still had a few questions, so I asked him to play. He joined a public game and the game started. He was an Imposter, and started killing people, but he was caught by a Crewmate in Security. He sadly could not defend himself and they kicked him out. His fellow imposter however, was extremely careful yet swift, and he killed all the Crewmates except for one, and they won.
"Now do you guys understand?" Hermes asked when he finished the game. We all nodded.
"Some ground rules before we start. First, if someone killed you, do not tell everyone that they are an imposter. Second, refer to everyone by their color, not their name. Third, don't speak if you are a ghost. Clear?" We all nodded again.
"Let's start. I'm cyan. Which color do you all choose?"
"I'm blue!" Poseidon said.
"I'm black!" Hades said.
"I'm white!" Zeus said.
"I'm red!" Ares said.
"I'm orange," Hephaestus said.
"I'm yellow!" Apollo said.
"I'm purple," Artemis said.
"I'm green," Demeter said.
"I'll be brown then," I said.
"Okay. I'll be the host, and I'll give you a code. You all type that in your Private section." Hermes said
He made a room and the code was WOSKXN. Everyone joined and the game started.
I was a Crewmate. I had a MedBay scan, a swipe card task in Admin, a calibrate distributor task in Electrical and a clear asteroids task in Weapons. I went to the Admin Room with Ares, seeking guidance from my trusty map. After swiping the card, I saw that Ares had left Admin. I left and went to Weapons to do my task. While I was doing my task, Demeter reported Hades's dead body.
"Where was the body?" Hermes asked.
"Lower Engine. When I went in I saw white exit. Let's vote him."
"I AM THE KING OF THE GODS! HOW DARE YOU VOTE FOR ME! I RULE YOU ALL!" Zeus thundered when we were about to vote for him.
"Do you have any evidence that you aren't an imposter, Drama Queen?" Poseidon asked. He started sweating at this.
"Vote white." Artemis said. I voted.
"NOOOOO!" Zeus shrieked as his avatar was thrown into space. He was a Crewmate, which left me confused.
I went to weapons to restart my task. I took Artemis with me as a witness. After that, we parted ways, and the lights switched off. I made my way to Electrical and tried to switch the lights on, but someone kept switching the lights off. Then Demeter reported Poseidon's dead body.
"Where?" I asked.
"Electrical." She said.
"But that's impossible! I was there." Artemis said.
"Me too!" Hephaestus said
"So was I," I said
"Me too," Ares said.
"Don't forget me," Apollo said.
"And me," Hermes said.
"You know green, it sounds like you were the only one not there. And what's with you finding all these bodies?" Hephaestus asked.
"Orange is right. There's something fishy going on here. I think it might be green." I said.
"I can't argue with that logic. I'm voting green." Hermes said.
Everyone voted Demeter, who turned out to be a Crewmate.
I carried on with my tasks, and almost finished them, but Hephaestus reported Ares's body.
"Where?" Apollo asked.
"Navigation. No one was near."
"We should tread carefully. If one of us is voted out and another dies, the Imposter will win. Let's skip." I said. We all skipped.
I went to do my last task with Apollo. Artemis, Hephaestus, and Hermes went together.
We made our way to Electrical. I finished my task and was waiting for Apollo to hurry up when Artemis vented in and killed Apollo. The screen flashed red, and it had Hermes and Artemis's avatar, reading DEFEAT.
I stared at Artemis and Hermes, who hi-fived.
"Arty!" Apollo protested, to which Artemis stuck her tongue out.
"That was fun! I understand why you're addicted to this game, Hermes." Artemis said.
"Let's play another round, then," Hermes said.
"I have a question for you," I said, pointing to them.
"Fine. Shoot away." They said.
"Why did you kill the Big Three first?"
"That wasn't planned. Hades was unlucky to go near us. We freaked out at seeing Zeus come inside, though he didn't see Hades dead or hear us venting, we don't know why." Hermes said. Everyone turned to the king of the gods.
He shrugged. "I was too focused on my tasks, and the volume on my phone was at zero, I always use my phone like that."
"And after he was kicked out, we decided to just kill Poseidon to complete the Big Three. Anything else?" Artemis asked, to which I shook my head.
"Great! Let's play another game!" Artemis said, and everyone cheered.
And then started the day where we played Among Us for 5 hours straight.
A/N- Hi guys! I hope you enjoyed that, though it was rubbish according to me. I'm sorry for not updating my main fic for like, a week, but I lost inspiration and I couldn't type anything even if I wanted to. This idea wouldn't get out of my mind, so I decided to do it to spark some writing spirit in me, and I think it helped! I'll probably pump another update anytime between the next four days. If I don't update it, then I'll probably do another one-shot. To all of you, who haven't read my main fic, do give it a read if you are in the PJO and HP fandoms. R&R and I'll see you next time!
