Cody padded softly from his room to the general's on their ship. It wasn't something he did very often (his fear for getting caught much greater then his desire to see Obi), but tonight he couldn't sleep, and all he wanted was someone beside him. And they weren't currently sharing a ship with the 501st, so he couldn't go see Rex.
Cody opened the door to his general's room and stepped inside, Obi waking up due to the noise of the door. Cody hated waking him up (he knew Obi rarely slept, and when he did, it wasn't always very well).
"Do you need something, Cody?" Obi asked quietly as Cody came to the side of the bed. The clone hung his head like a sheepish child, reluctant to state an embarrassing truth. Cody shrugged. "Company?"
"Are you asking me or telling me?" Obi said, casting Cody a skeptical look. But all he got in response was another shrug.
Obi sighed and lifted up the blankets. "You do realize that you don't need to be embarrassed about wanting to come see me? I don't mind."
Cody climbed into the bed as he mumbled, "I know."
Obi simply rolled his eyes and the two men settled down beside each other. Cody placed his chin on top of Obi's head as he moved himself closer to Cody, resting his face against his chest.
Cody relaxed, taking a deep breath. He gave the top of his general's head a kiss. "Thank you," he whispered quietly.
"You're welcome," Obi whispered back. "Will you be able to sleep now?"
Cody nodded. "Yeah...I love you." The last part came out barely audible, the commander still getting use to the fact that he could say it.
Obi smiled. "I love you too. Goodnight, Cody."
"Goodnight, sir."
