Riku stared ahead, straight into the darkness. The rain had been falling for the past few hours since the sun had set and the nightly veil had been cast. He did love the rain, and the feelings it brought with it. The cleansing of the planet, washing away the grime and providing nourishment for nature. There were many times he had sat in his shelter and just stared outside as the rain fell. Problems seemed to wash away with the dirt.

Riku was only young, having recently passed his twelfth birthday a few months ago. He possessed a small build, from a lack of food, or the bare minimum. Sapphire blue eyes that shone with the innocence of youth, but held something deeper locked within their depths. On his head was a mop of unkempt shaggy silver hair that covered most of his face and obscured a portion of his vision. He had a worn and torn black cloak to keep himself warm, his clothes underneath being just a bit more than rags, his other clothes had gone to someone who needed them more than himself.

Brushing aside a chunk of silver hair, he smiled faintly at the three children huddled together, savouring what little warmth they could. There were two girls and one boy, all siblings. Riku had given the younger siblings, the better clothes he had, the eldest sibling having declined his offer.

Whilst there was little he could call his own, he had been more than happy to give what little he could. These three had given him something much more valuable, hope, to carry on and keep the darkness at bay.

Strauss siblings or trio as adorable little Lisanna introduced themselves as there was shy Elfman and the cautious sibling Mirajane. With Elfman shyness and Mira's more aloof personality striking up a conversation would have been more difficult if not for Lisanna bubbly personality. In a way, all three of them were just pieces and she was the glue that held them together.

He had first encountered them a few months back, having spotted them from his shelter, a small farmhouse that looked like it had better days. Being located on the side of the road a short distance (within walking) from town. It might have been rotted and lord knows what else, but it provided a roof over his head and that was enough.

The food was scarce around here, so he often had to travel the short distance to town and see what scraps he could gather or get lucky out here with a makeshift trap, the latter hardly provided any real results.

They had been looking for a place to crash for the night and stumbled upon his lovely abode, upon seeing him they had apologised and tried to leave, but he convinced them it was alright to stay. The building might have been small, but it was considered much greater from a child's perspective, almost palace-like. He had been happy they stayed, and one night turned into two, then a week, a month and finally to where they were now.

Lisanna had been the first one to reach out and speak to him, with her initiative, the other two swiftly followed. Mirajane had been the first to follow her little sister, then finally Elfman. Riku didn't point out anything regarding Elfman's confidence issues, something he believed the pair of sisters appreciated. Before the three arrived, he only had the voice from his magic to converse with. Not the best conversation starter!

Yes, there was a voice inside him, one that helped him get a firmer grasp of his magic. He was not an expert by any sense of the word, but the magic obeyed him which was surprising because of what he practised. He used a type of magic called Take-Over which allowed him to use the soul of an entity that he didn't fully understand. The voice had been calming and explained that he was unique and he would be the only one to ever use this specific soul. There were quite a few things the voice hadn't said, but it did mention that he would need to gather the other pieces to achieve the full form.

The current form his magic took when activated was on his arms, both shifted, taking on darker colours such as a black and purple colour combo. It was still a minuscule change, but he chalked it up to his age and current build. The voice had been quiet about why his change was so small but did mutter about time not being right. Whatever that was supposed to mean.

The knowledge as little as it might be had most definitely come in handy, once he had bonded with Mira, she had finally revealed her right arm. He mentally berated himself for not noticing it sooner, her use of one arm had flown under his radar. He blamed his excitement for that one, children weren't the most observant.

Seeing the crestfallen expression on her face when she revealed her appendage, something ignited in his soul. He remembered feeling courage bubble inside him, forcing his hand to move, taking hold of her 'monstrous' hand with his own. He then went on to explain her magic was similar to his own.

That simple act of boldness had built a bridge between them, and he couldn't stop himself from smiling at the memory. He had been so lost in his recollection of the past, that he hadn't noticed the figure creep up behind him. They then sat down next to him, leaving only a small amount of distance between them. Seeing a slight movement and feeling the slight breeze pass over him, he tilted his head to the side. The girl he was thinking about sat next to him with a sleepy expression, rubbing her eyes with her wrist, his smile widened a little at the sight of her.

Mira looked pretty to him, she always did, especially after his 'bold' move, her salubrious white tresses always drew his attention. Despite her being only a year or two older than him, he could see her catching a lot of attention in the future, would other boys want to be friends with her, to steal her attention, his expression darkened for a moment before inwardly shook the expression away. Her eyes stared at him and he lost himself in her darker shade of blue, she smiled at him and he felt something leap in his chest, not unpleasant, but something he would need to figure out in the future. Her cloak was a lighter shade than his, he had switched them when she tore hers, a month ago, she never questioned it and he never spoke about it. As he mentioned earlier, that was nothing to what they had given him.

"Why aren't you resting, we got a big day tomorrow?" Her question was spoken softly, but he still grew nervous. At dawn, they were going to travel to a place called Magnolia, to a guild called Fairy Tail. The change frightened him, made him nervous, but Mira wanted to finally learn to control her magic. He couldn't and wouldn't deny her the opportunity to learn to harness her magic. Them having different souls was an issue, her magic was more chaotic whilst his magic was not. They would find someone to help her control her magic and check to see if Lisanna and Elfman had the same aptitude for magic. Fairy Tail sounded perfect based on some of the rumours they had heard about the guild from the occasional travellers to pass by.

"It is just… it's just…" He struggled, trailing off. He had called this run-down place home for the past few months, almost a year, and the voice inside expressed caution about going to Fairy Tail. He couldn't tell her that, to kill her shot at happiness, her pain had been easy to spot. When he explained his resolve in heading to Fairy Tail, his magic hissed at him before retreating. He chose to tell a half-truth. "Change is scary…" trailing off again, offering her a weak smile.

Feeling her gaze on him, he then felt both her hands, the soft and demon one grasp onto him. He didn't pull away like many others would have. He felt no danger from her grip. Mira had closed her eyes, soaking in the warmth emitting from his lilliputian hand, scooting a bit closer to him until their shoulders were touching, and finally resting her head on his shoulder. Whilst she might have been a year older than him, he still stood a few inches taller than her, despite having a small build for his age. Didn't matter really, his shoulder was comfortable to her.

"I know," she said softly, he could feel her warm breath on his ear, sending a slight shiver through him. "No matter what happens, we'll stay together, the four of us." Her cheeks turned a tad pink. Her eyes strayed to her partial take-over. "I could be acting a little selfish, but I need to learn to control it, we already tried your way and it didn't work. I need to think about Lisanna and Elfman, they need a place to grow up, to be safe and laugh." Taking in some fresh air, the cold starting to get to her by the prickling of her skin.

Riku bumped his shoulder gently to get her attention. "Hey, come on, no one is saying that! You're right though. We got to make sure they have a place that's safe for them and you can get your magic under control." He felt her cheek move on his shoulder, he guessed that she was smiling. That thought made him happy, lighter in a sense. He would soon question his magic about the cautious approach on Fairy Tail, he needed answers or something.

Staring out through the window, he glanced at the sky. He asked himself questions, he knew that would not get answered. He wondered about his parents, did they love him? Was he abandoned? Or were they killed? He just couldn't find any memory of them, he knew nothing before waking up and finding this shack and then meeting the siblings.

He wanted answers goddammit! The voice didn't seem to remember or know anything, whether that was the truth was something else. He doubted it was. He wondered why he only had a fragment of this magic, just so many questions and no answers. Just nothing came to mind.

"Hey!" Looking to his companion, her head was still resting on him. "You grew tense, you that worried for tomorrow or is it something else?" He shook his head free of those thoughts, whilst he was nervous, it also presented another opportunity to find answers. Just as he was about to open his mouth to reply, she beat him to the punch. "You don't need to tell me now, but I will expect it in the future buster." She finished with a threatening look that was dulled by her newly returned sleepy expression. He settled for a half-hearted smile, her returning the gesture before unwrapping herself from him.

Rising to her feet, she stretched. "Come on, we got to rest, gonna be a long day tomorrow." Riku felt his spirit lighten a bit at her optimism, over the next few days everything would change. Following her lead, he rose and followed her over to Lisanna and Elfman, laying down next to them, he felt his cheek redden a little.

Mira had been crafty and when he settled down, quickly threw her arm around him, reclaiming his shoulder. They settled down as best as they could, not having much, but making sure the younger two were comfortable enough. Riku swore that he would give them everything that they lacked right now.

"You're warm," she muttered, snuggling as far into his shoulder as she could. He smiled and moved an arm under her in a make-shift pillow, not seeing her cheeks go a little rosy at the gesture. He stared at the ceiling, the rain continuing to fall.

"Goodnight Mira," he said closing his eyes.

"Goodnight Riku-kun," the added suffix giving her cheeks a little extra heat, her disappointment became apparent when she heard a gentle snore. She then smiled fondly, Riku was Riku and as long as he didn't change then that would be enough. Following his lead, her own eyes closed and soon she followed him into the dreamland.

A Few Days Later

The past few days had been harrowing for the group of four, having ventured into the practical unknown. Riku had first made his way back to the small village to 'acquire' anything else they might need for their journey, food, water, the necessities. He also made sure to take a few maps just to be on the safe side.

Firstly they had discovered where they were, a small village with not a lot going for it, more so a place where people went to retire or just to live a simple life. This wasn't a place that would stick with them for very long. Their lives were just beginning.

Their destination looked closer on the map, and it wasn't all that bad, but to children, it was almost like the world was ending. They stuck to the main road or close to it, it was too dangerous to travel purely by road but also to go into the forest. Bandits and beasts littered these pathways, and with barely being able to defend themselves that proved a mighty issue.

Riku didn't like to feel helpless, but his magic had only been used on small animals, he hadn't had a chance to use it against adults who would have sought to harm them. That risk was too high, too many chances of it backfiring and costing him something he didn't want to give up.

So they played it mostly safe but stayed on alert in any case.

After what felt like an eternity, they had seen a sign that pointed towards Magnolia. The city was larger and even more impressive than what they were expecting, despite only seeing it from the outskirts. A hearty chuckle disrupted them from their reverie.

At the sound Riku instantly stepped into action, moving a step in front whilst angling his body to intercept anything that might attempt to hurt those behind him. Raising an unnoticeable brow raise, his hair obscuring it, the owner of the voice was short by even their standards. The small man was wearing an orange and white jester outfit with a white t-shirt underneath with a symbol in black on it, he carried what looked to be a walking stick. The man smile seemed genuine, but Riku could also see he noticed what he did by the slight narrowing of his eyes.

"You four lost?" The voice was rough from age, but it held an endearing quality to it.

Riku took the initiative of being the one to converse with the elderly man. "We just arrived, been travelling for the past few days." Short and sweet, not wanting to give too much away, so soon.

The old man hummed in acknowledgement, closing his eyes and nodding to himself. "That is fine and all, but what are four kids doing travelling around by themselves? No parents?" Riku gave him that point, the area was vacant except for the five of them.

"Still though, where are my manners, the name is Makarov Dreyar…" Trailing off, looking at the boy as if expecting the same courtesy.

"Riku and these are my friends," he moved a little to show them, it would be their choice if they wish to give him their names. When no one spoke, that gave him his answer.

With that being said, the eldest Dreyar mind instantly went to work, he wasn't the least discourage by only learning one name. They had been travelling and had seen much hardship based on their appearance, he noted the similarities between the three, but Riku looked differently. The others must have been siblings and he was a travel companion. On the taller girl, he noted how she only showed one hand and gathered there was an issue there.

"Well met Riku, my boy. Might I ask why you have come to our fair city?"

"We are looking for a guild called fairy tail, we need help with a particular brand of magic." That made Makarov raise a brow, not too many youngsters were aware of magic without having prior involvement. This proved to be interesting.

Riku didn't want to give too much away, his magic had been silent for a while. It had warned him about coming here, yet it remained silent now. As he looked at the old man, he noticed how his eyes lit up when he mentioned fairy tail, was he connected to it somehow?

He was pretty much in the dark when it came to news about specific individuals related to the guild, he only knew hearsay and rumours. The guild liked to cause trouble with property damage, cause headaches for the council, that didn't strike him as bad. He wished he did look into it more though, he didn't want to bring Mira, Lisanna or Elfman into a place that he barely knew anything about. The one thing he heard from everyone was that fairy tail treated their members like family, and family was what they all needed right now.

That final piece of information had already made his decision before he knew it. "Well then, you happen to be in luck young man." The wizened man said with a warm smile. "I happen to be the guild master of that rambunctious guild, so how about we go to the hall and then see what we can do about this issue of yours?"

Riku grinned a little at that, he felt something soft, grip his hand, glancing over his shoulder, he saw her smile at him. That warm feeling came back, only a little hotter this time. Lisanna and Elfman both smiled a little and looked at their respective sibling and surrogate brother figure. While all this was going on, they never noticed how the old man beamed at their touching moment.

When he turned back around, he felt something tug at his other hand, looking down he saw the bubbly Lisanna clutching that appendage with a bright smile. Finally turning to look in the direction of the guild master, Riku spoke. "Then please lead the way," Makarov shot them a grin before gesturing them to follow him.

The newly minted group of five began to travel deeper into the city, and the further they got the more their awe grew.

Everything looked so neat, the cobblestone flooring looked to be something out of a dream to the children, there were no gaps, no bumpy parts, everything looked so proper. It looked like they were to travel in one direction, but that didn't deprive it of its beauty. Various houses littered both sides, some bigger or smaller, there were a few businesses they also noticed, making a mental note to check them out at some point. Everything looked so bright and colourful to them, each house had something that made it different and unique.

Whilst in awe himself, Riku noticed the younger two seemed to be the most awe-struck, Mira keeping hers more so to herself until they had dealt with her problem. She noticed him looking in her direction, she gave him a kind smile as they both continued to stare deeply at each other. Their hands still linked, fingers entwined, eventually, they turned away from each other, his chest harbouring an inferno, and her cheeks blushing something fierce.

Makarov himself wasn't idly, he sneaked glances back at them as he took them through the city. He could see a dynamic between the four of them, the youngest two held much love and admiration for Riku and their sister. Riku himself being the only one to give him his name, showed he had assumed the leadership role, already having the trust of the younger two. The final girl, elder sister if he had to guess, trusted Riku beyond anything, and it was reciprocated. Their body language was easy enough to read, they depended on each other, and would no doubt for many many years. That sort of bond is not so easily broken.

'Truly marvellous the next generation,' Makarov thought with an affectionate smile.

As they continued to walk through the city, Mira's face showed a genuine smile rarely having been seen the last few months. Her siblings' joy brought out this side of her, and Riku, but she wasn't brave enough to say that out loud… yet. It was looking bright, and that mattered most to her.

Soon they came to a stop outside a building that put the rest to shame. If you thought that Magnolia was bright then they had nothing on this building, it looked like something out of a fairy tale. Plastered in big purple letters above the door was 'Fairy Tail,' with what was supposed to be two fairies on either side. Bright orange doors in the shape of a flower petal, black windows, with red frames and some patterns over them. It looked like it had two smaller builds on top of it, growing smaller the further it went up. It looked unique to them, and that expression showed on their faces.

To see something so different that all four children starry-eyed, staring up at the building that could become their future guild, their one and only. Makarov smirked, having seen this reaction a dozen times before never got stale, he briskly walked forward and used his cane to open the doors, crossing the threshold, his four new guests following closely behind him.

The sight the five were greeted too, could be described in one word… pandemonium. People were fighting, chairs, tables, pretty much anything that wasn't attached to the floor were being chucked about. Left, right, forward and backwards. The biggest concern for the newcomers were the smiles and grins people had on their faces, enjoyment is what is silently said. Riku felt an overwhelming urge to react to the chaos, calling on his incomplete take-over magic, his arms shifting. He ran forward and jumped into the chaos, and proceeded to have some fun.

A beautiful smile found its way on Mira's face, a shy giggle erupted from her at the sight of Riku in a comical position, even though the chaos she could see him clearly, he looked like he was enjoying himself. But just because he was having fun, didn't mean she trusted everyone else around here, tugging her siblings a little closer to her. "Have you got anywhere, a little quieter for us to speak?" Mira asked, her voice reaching him through the carnage.

He nodded to her request, his little form shone gold and the next thing they all knew, he towered over his children. Speaking with a voice of pure authority. "Calm down now!" The effects were instantaneous, everyone looked as pale as a ghost, all turning in his direction. Even Riku felt the power behind that voice, he still didn't let go of his grip, stretching someone's face beyond normal means, with a few nameless members on him in a dog-pile.

When the chaos had calmed down, Riku loosened his grip, offering a quick apology before getting up and the other members falling off him. Everyone looking quite shocked by his show of strength for someone with such a small build. He blinked, could that be considered a small test, he would need to have a spar with someone very soon. The others soon returned to what they were doing, Riku made his way back over to Mira.

With peace finally restored for the moment, they all walked over to the stairs, heading up to his office.

The interior of the office reflected the owner, warm and welcoming, simple in its design. A large oak desk, a comfy looking chair behind it for Makarov. The back wall was filled to the brim with books, personal or otherwise, Riku pondered on what sort of knowledge laid dormant in them. There were only three chairs on the other side of the desk, the choice being obvious, Riku let the trio have them, him taking up a position behind them.

Showing a small smile at the action before turning serious, clearing his throat. "You mentioned earlier about having an issue with a brand of magic, what is the issue?"

Mira sighed, summoning up some courage with all the attention on her. Moving her cloak to the side, she held out the evidence of her partial take-over. Lisanna and Elfman looked on sadly, knowing how hard this was for their eldest sister.

Riku stared at the elderly gentleman, observing his reaction to the reveal. They had shown him so trust, he needed to know it was not misplaced. Makarov scratched his cheek as his eyes looked at the arm, his mind sorting through the various possibilities.

"Hmm… definitely take-over, no chance of animal or beast, nor machine. That only really leaves demon. This is not common brand magic, you must have activated it in a stressful situation." That hit the nail on the head.

"Is there anything that can be done?" Riku put the question out there, Mira courage fled, hid her hand in the darkness of her cloak.

"Yes, we can help her tap into her magic, then she would have to train with it." Makarov eyes never left Riku's, another thing coming to mind. "I noticed you used magic when my children were having their brawl, who taught you?"

Riku doubted he could pull off a lie to someone like this, but the truth might cast more doubt on him. "I use take-over magic as well, no one taught me, it just happened." He frowned, granted it wasn't a lie, but not the total truth.

Riku noticed the old man about to open his mouth, no doubt to fire another question at him. Lisanna came to his rescue, thank god for her chipper personality!

"Will we be able to check if we could use magic as well?" All attention on her now, caused her to blush cutely.

Makarov shot Riku a look saying it wasn't over, but he smiled at the young girl. "Yes, we will check after you all have gotten some rest and some food."

Lisanna thanked the elder man, who waved it off with a smile. She looked at Riku as if asking a silent question, he nodded, her attention turned back to the previous spot, bowing a little. "M-master, I want to introduce myself. I am Lisanna, this here s Elf-nii-chan." The mentioned male waved in greeting. "And that is our eldest sister Mira, and finally you already met Riku." Mira smiled briefly.

Makarov couldn't help but smile at the youngest Strauss, who seemed to look at Riku as if asking if she could introduce everyone. It just added more weight to his earlier assessment, Riku was the leader of this close-knit group, they looked towards him. Mira had the potential, but she looked to be happier to follow, that could change when she grasped her magic. Lisanna doesn't seem like she would want to lead a team and Elfman looked like his confidence issues would be the main issue. His instincts told him all that, they could be wrong, but rarely were.

"I know the day is still early, but you all look worse for wear, we'll set you up with a place to stay for the night, and we can begin tomorrow?" He asked, Mira, opened her mouth to object, but Riku rested his hands on her shoulders, which did the trick.

"Thank you, master, would it be possible for all of us to stay together, just for tonight?" Riku asked, figuring it would be less hassle and he didn't want to part from them in such a strange place.

"I was already going to bunk you all together, you're all comfortable together, so it's no trouble," he finished with a cheeky grin, already guessing that question would be brought up. Riku breathed a silent sigh of relief, he was glad they had a warm place to spend the night, more so for the Strauss trio. He was used to rough conditions for quite some time now.

With their business concluded, he led them away from his office to the spare rooms. The room was a tad bit bigger than the office, mostly spartan, but having the basics. A desk for writing or reading, two double bed's, which looked so inviting. A wardrobe and a cabinet, a window being on the far side of the room.

"It might not be much, but it's all we got at the guild as this room is not used very much. Rest us and I'll send some food up, later on, if you do decide to join, then the guild will give you some money to get a place of you're own. If not then we'll give you enough jewels to get you where you need to go. If you do join, you'll need to pay it back slowly, not much, just a bit here and there." He finished with a smile, turning and about to leave the room.

"Thank you for everything, but if I might ask, why are you doing all this?" It baffled him, adults had seen him plenty of times when he was looking for food in that awful place and none spared him a second glance, only when he got caught and had to escape. The same treatment was even shown as they walked through Magnolia, many just looked at them before looking away.

The room was silent for a long minute, Mira, Lisanna and Elfman wondered if he said something that would get them kicked out, questioning such generosity. Makarov looked over his shoulder, making eye contact, black meeting blue.

"Many youngsters struggle, not knowing where to go or what to do and most of them travel down darker routes. It breaks this old heart to see such injustice." He looked to age a few years before their eyes. "Sometimes we don't need a reason to want to do good, I saw you four and could see instantly the world had done you wrong, and you still moved forward and that was enough for me to want to help you." He left it at that and walked out, shutting the door behind him.

That answer was the furthest thing Riku was expecting, which was evident by the expression on his face. He could have and would have continued to stare at the door where the mini-master passed through if not for the sudden burst of pain originating from his arm. The cause, a pissed off Mira, her gaze cowed any rebellious action he was going to take.

"Idiot, the fuck you thinking, questioning him!? We could have been kicked out here, then what would we do?" Her words stung a little, he glared at her a little whilst nursing his innocent arm.

"Okay I'm sorry, curiosity got the better of me," his apology lessened her ire, her look subsiding before taking on her default beautiful small smile.

Silence soon permitted the area, Riku took the initiative and walked over to the cabinet. It didn't have the fresh feel, but it didn't look like it was on its last legs, he guessed a few years since it had been crafted and brought here. He opened and looked through a few draws until he found something they could wear. He didn't think the master would take offence and if he did, then he would gladly pay the consequences.

What was found was the equivalent to finding buried treasure, shirts and pyjamas, fresh, with that sweet lavender smell still clinging to them. He found more than enough for them with still pairs to spare. Grabbing enough for them, giving each sibling a pair, receiving a smile from each of them.

Now came the changing, and for some reason, his cheeks began to burn when he was changing near Mira. This hadn't been the first nor the tenth time he changed near her, so why was now any different? Unknowingly her thoughts were similar.

The clothes were a bit too big for them, covering their entire form, definitely being tailored for bigger people, or he might have gotten out the wrong pairs. He grew a little embarrassed at the last thought. Still, though, it was nice to have fresh clothes that was the main thing!

"So what is the plan for this?" Riku asked after a moment, allowing everyone to enjoy the fresh feeling. Seeing everyone's attention on him, he elaborated further. "The bed situation, it will be easy to split into pairs for this one."

"I'll share with Elf-Nii," Lisanna spoke out first, that was their normal routine when they huddled together for warmth. Elfman didn't seem to have a problem with that. The fact that they wouldn't have to sleep on the ground tonight overshadowed everything else at this point.

That left the final two occupants, Mira looked shyly in Riku's direction. "Guess that means were together then," her small grin was to hide the sudden nervous feeling welling up in her chest. That moment before they set out, it felt good to be so close to him. Her mind was coming to terms that she might be developing something more for the shaggy silverette.

Riku nodded, his expression mirroring hers. He needed to distract himself, glancing at the bed that looked so inviting, an idea formed. It felt cringe, but it would be the easiest way, he rushed forward and dived onto his, he chuckled as the bed bounced him up a little.

Lisanna and Elfman both repeated the action on the other bed, Mira being the last to follow his example, dived forward, but she rolled until she was snug against his side. His face sprouted a comical expression, he did that to escape those feelings. He wasn't as confident or experienced in identifying them as most people, he made eye contact with Mira and the world froze. That small warmth suddenly took on the form of a roaring fire. Mira quickly realised their position, her face taking on the colour of a future rival's hair, she scurried away from him and claimed a spot on the furthest side of the bed.

Riku stared at the ceiling for a moment as the fire simmered down, taking a deep breath he looked at Mira before her siblings. Lisanna and Elfman appeared to be knocked out, having been on the road for the past few days, danger being a constant companion, but now being presented with the chance to unwind having proved too much for them. He slowly got off his bed and made his way over to them, seeing them huddled together was adorable, he didn't want to disturb this moment.

When he was a step away from the bed, he had to do this delicately now. He gently lifted her head before moving a pillow underneath, placing her back down. The tricky part now involved moving her body to the side, so he could drag the cover over her. He then did the same to Elfman, who was a little heavier, but he still got the job done.

With them lightly snoring away, he whispered a 'good night' to them before making his way back to his bed. He noticed how Mira had tucked herself beneath the cover already, so he didn't have to do the same to her. When he was submerged beneath the soft quilt, he smiled to himself.

"Is this what it's like to have a family?" He gently asked himself before closing his eyes. He didn't notice the tears descending Mira's face or the smile on her lips.

The first step in our story has been taken, only a few realised the series of events that would soon engulf the magic world in the coming years. A threat far greater than Zeref or Acnologia would soon reawaken.

The Herald would soon cast judgement!

Sup everyone, got this prologue chapter for you, pretty much not so sure what to say! So I'll give it a shot.

I have had this story idea in mind for around six months, it has changed a little bit, still got some ideas in it that might be taken out and added in, and so forth.

Riku is an oc, I did take some inspiration from Riku from kingdom hearts, but other than a little on the appearance, he is my little creation, gonna be fun with him later on.

His magic is my own creation so it might seem OP at times, but some people can fight on even grounds against him, even though it will evolve throughout the story, he will have other magic's but they are not around for reasons because his character has a long way to go until he can grasp them. The story will have some custom arcs, but Fairy Tail's arcs are sort of milestones really, they will still happen, but will go differently, more some than others.

I want a small harem, Mira is automatically confirmed, I got another one in mind because she is related to his magic. For the others, I am trying to find actual reasons to involve them so it doesn't feel forced.

I am still trying to find my style, each writer has one. This chapter will not be perfect, none of them will be because that doesn't exist and most people prefer to look for the faults in a story.

Got no schedule for when I'll upload as I tend to drift towards many different things like gaming, gotta love a good story, but I am trailing. So hope you enjoy it and I will see you in the next chapter!

Here are some character ages:

Riku: 12
