"Hi Grandma, I just moved into the Master Course dorm. Soon I'll meet Camus, the Count of Silk Palace, here," Haruka Nanami said while holding her lotus compact brooch locket. Her grandma appeared as a hologram above it.
"Dear Haruka, it's good to see you," Haruka's grandma replied smiling. "The Count, huh? Do you have any ideas on how to befriend him?"
"I hope that my reputation as the composer for STARISH will help. He's part of the QUARTET NIGHT, so if I can get a chance to compose for them too, I can get closer to him. The way he appears to the fans seems like a butler or servant."
"That sounds fortunate for you. If he acts like one, then you might get to ask him about Silk Palace easily."
"We can only hope. That's all for now. I'll talk to you when I get more information. Bye Grandma. Love you."
"I love you too, Haruka. Please be safe."
Haruka closed her locket and put it in her small safe box. The STARISH composer was actually a princess of Lotus Palace of Eternal Flames. The King and Queen's power of fire and music protects the kingdom from being scorched in flames, similar to how Silk Palace of Permafrost is guarding itself from being frozen from a powerful blizzard. No one outside of the kingdom knows that the King and Queen had a child and told others that they couldn't have one. They decided for Haruka, once she was old enough, to go undercover and obtain information from the Silk Palace. They also gave her a ring with a ruby gem that contained the power of fire in case she was attacked. After discovering that Camus was going to pursue a career as an idol, her parents decided to bring Haruka into the industry. It was somewhat recent that she specifically wanted to be a composer after seeing another idol named HAYATO, who was actually Tokiya.
But throughout her life, she mainly stayed with her grandma outside of the palace. While she gathered as much information as she can about Silk Palace, she also tried to live a normal life making friends and spreading her love for music. At Saotome Academy, she met more friends and help create the idol group STARISH. Sometimes Haruka would forget that she was supposed to be collecting information. However, her monthly reports to her grandma remind her that she still needed to stay on track.
After she locked the safe box, Haruka grabbed the music sheets that she composed for each of the STARISH members and ran to the main lobby where everyone else was. They were surprised and super happy to receive their own song from their favorite girl.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Shining Saotome dropped down from the upper balcony. He came to introduce the senpais for STARISH. They were called QUARTET NIGHT.
"QUARTET NIGHT! That's the group that Camus is in!" Haruka thought. It was her first day back after STARISH debuted and already she'll meet him. She tried to hide her excitement that was almost similar to a fan excited to see their favorite idol. But in Haruka's case, her reasons are different.
A hologram of the four members appeared as they sang "Poison Kiss," but they didn't know initially that they weren't really there (or were they? They never explained how they had it set up in the lobby). Haruka immediately noticed Camus since she seen images of him before. But seeing him kind of in-person still surprised her. She forgot about her mission for the moment and watched how cool both his singing and dancing were. Well, all four of them acted like professionals, but she kept her eyes mostly at the blonde. She listened to their songs before when she was researching about Camus but seeing them perform live was a different experience.
"His voice and movements... so coo-" Haruka shook her head before finishing that thought. She quickly looked to see if anyone noticed her staring at Camus the whole time, but luckily no one did.
When QUARTET NIGHT finished singing, Reiji, Ranmaru, and Ai actually appeared in the same pose as their holograms finished with. STARISH and their composer were shocked to see them really there in front of them.
Haruka looked around to see where Camus went but he was nowhere to be seen. "Wasn't there one other person?" she mumbled.
Shining left STARISH with them before Ringo and Ryuya senseis joined. They explained how QUARTET NIGHT were assigned to be STARISH's senpais. Reiji had Tokiya and Otoya. Ranmaru was Ren and Masato's senpai. Natsuki and Syo were assigned to Ai. They were evenly distributed so Haruka figured out that Camus wasn't needed then. After Ringo and Ryuya left and the guys started to walk back to their rooms, Haruka thought maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask for curiosity sake and not act suspicious about it.
"Uhm, excuse me. There was one other member in your group, right?"
Reiji turned around and answered, "Oh you mean Myu-chan?"
Haruka tilted her head, "Myu-chan?"
"It's just Reiji's nickname for him. He has nicknames for each one of us," Ai responded. "Camus is most likely in his room, but we don't keep track of where he goes."
"Is there something you need from him, Kouhai-chan?" Reiji asked.
"Ah, no!" Raising her hands up, Haruka came up with a quick excuse. "I just thought you guys would usually be together like how the STARISH members sometimes are ."
Ranmaru crossed his arms and said, "It's not like we're close or anything. We work together because we were told to, nothing more." Ai nodded.
"Aw, Ran-Ran. Don't say it like that. We definitely got close when QUARTET NIGHT formed. Come on, Ai-Ai," Reiji said as he put his hands on their shoulders.
Even though she didn't want to cause a fight, she was glad the attention was off of her. As tensions were not only built between the three senpais, but also between the two idol groups in regards to how they would teach them, Haruka kept alert if she passed by Camus while walking back to her room. Unfortunately she never did that day. But the fact that he was in the same dormitory as her meant that she was so close to meeting him. It turned out that the last person she saw that night was Cecil. He would show up in her dreams even though his presence felt so real to her. He was the prince of Agnapolis, another kingdom that she never heard before. She found it odd that he would be in her dreams multiple times. Whenever he called her "my princess," she would get worried if her cover was blown and that he knew she was an actual princess. But she didn't mentioned anything just in case.
Would she have met a prince like him if she had stayed at her kingdom? Who knows? But she couldn't help but feel happy to be treated like one outside of there. Knowing that Camus was a Count and had a butler-like personality towards his fans, Haruka wondered if he would treat her the same way.
