Chapter 1: New Start
The wind was blowing lightly, the grass leaning towards the left. There on a hill, looking at the sunrise, was a young boy from Pallet Town known as Ash Ketchum, and his partner Electric Type Pokemon, Pikachu. After his defeat at the Indigo League, Ash had found a new challenge to face in the form of the Orange League. Along with his friends Misty and Tracy, he traveled the different islands, to collect the four badges. Not only did it improve him as a trainer, but it also let him bond with his Pokèmon and even collect some new Pokémon, like Lapras and Snorlax. And in the end, he had defeated Drake, the Supreme Gym Leader, and officially a Champion of the Orange League. And after all that, Misty and Tracy return home. Now Ash returns home, ready to get started on his next Pokémon Journey. But, what journey shall that be?
"Mom! I'm home!" Ash shouted, entering the house. "Ash!" Delia, Ash's Mother, gets up from the couch and runs to the door, hugging Ash. "I heard and saw everything. You did great at the Orange League!" She told him proudly. "Thank you, Mom." Ash replied. Delia bends down and pets Pikachu. "And you did great as well Pikachu!" Pikachu smiled as he purred from the head rubs. "Hey, Mom. I'm sort of having a problem." Ash said to her. "Hm? What is it?" Delia replies. "Well, I want to continue my Pokémon Journey, but I have no idea what is left for me to do." He said. "OH! I just remembered! Professor Oak called me earlier. He said something relating to this." She told her son. "Really?!" Ash replied. "How about you eat some dinner and then we can walk to the professor?" Delia suggests. Ash nods and smiles, with Pikachu smiling too. The two would then prepare dinner and eat. After around an hour or two, the pair head off to Professor Oak's to speak with him.
Professor Oak's Lab
Delia knocks on the door, before it opens, revealing Professor Oak. "Oh, Ash! Delia! Welcome!" He says. "Please, come inside!" Ash and Delia walk inside, as Oak closes the door behind them. "So Professor Oak, what is it you wanted to talk about?" Ash asked. "Oh! That's right!" Oak walks over to a workstation of his and pulls out a weird-looking phone. It had a triangle pouting downward on the bottom and a symbol on the top that had a sort of "electric shock" look to it. "See, I have a friend from somewhere known as the Sinnoh Region." He said. Ash looked a little confused. He had never heard of the Sinnoh Region before. "And sent me two things. This special phone, and-" Before Oak finished, he grabbed a Pokeball from his pocket and sent it out, revealing a brand new Pokémon, never seen by Ash. "WOAH! What kind of Pokémon is that?!" Ash asked excitingly.
"This is a Pokémon known as Rotom. It is from the Sinnoh Region and is an Electric and Ghost Type." Oak explained. "But Professor, what does this have to do with anything?" Ash asked. "You see, originally this Pokémon was supposed to help me get to know about all the different Pokémon species and information across the different regions. However, the more I thought about it, I thought that you should have it. You do still want to continue your Pokémon Journey right? Well, this Pokémon might be the one to help you." Oak said. Before Ash could respond, the Rotom flew around the room and into the phone that Oak was holding. It then had eyes on the back of the phone. "W-Woah! What did it just do?!" Ash asked. "That is one of Rotom's special capabilities. It can possess different kinds of objects, to give itself new moves, or even change its type. But in this particular instance, it is meant to help you navigate different regions and give data on Pokémon. This is what we call the Rotom Phone." Oak explained. He then gives Ash the phone. Ash's eyes lit up. "Professor Oak, Thank you so much!" Ash said excitingly.
Ash had gone outside and sent out Charizard. "Hey, Rotom Phone! What other regions are there?" The boy asked. The Rotom Phone was scanning and immediately showed Ash the information. "There are many regions. Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Galar. And many more are just waiting to be collected into my database!" The phone said. Ash giggled along with Pikachu. "So Ash. How do you plan to travel to these regions?" Professor Oak asked. "I have Charizard to help me fly to these regions. I'll make sure to give him plenty of food and water and stop to have rests on our way." Ash assures. Oak thinks off a moment before nodding. "Alright. I trust you, Ash." Ash looks to his mom as he hugs her. "Sorry, I'm leaving again so soon." He said. Delia simply smiled. "It's okay. I was expecting this anyway. I'm just happy you are following your dreams." She told her son. Ash smiled as he then climbed on Charizard. "Are you ready Charizard?" Ash asked. His fire Pokemon nodded, as he took to the sky. "So long Mom and Professor Oak!" "PIKA! PIKA!" Ash and Pikachu shouted. "Goodbye! See you again soon!" Both Delia and Oak shouted in unison. Ash looks at his Rotom phone and finally decided. "Alright! Next stop, the Galar Region!"
And so, Ash heads off on a new journey to the Galar Region. What adventures awaitthis young boy and his trustypartner, and the rest of his Pokémon? That is for the next chapter.
