KARR
It was another normal day for Michael Knight on the road. After two days of a well-deserved vacation, Devon has just commissioned him on a mission to go and capture a man named Dogan to impersonated him and enter a military base where the sergeant has been doing highly recorded crimes, so they turned to the foundation for help to put an end to it.
It's around 5:39 a.m., and he was on a lonely road that occasionally passed a car right away from him quickly leaving him alone on the road, and let's not talk about the landscape around him thatwere a bunch of trees with green grass that you can tell is fresh just by looking at it. It's because of these kinds of landscapes that Michael loved road trips
When it was Michael Long those road trips were never possible for him because of his work as a cop, but now with his new identity as Michael Knight has been made easier for him to travel, in fact, sometimes he thinks he did to deserve this. Everything has been served in silver tray.
And all thanks to an old man he barely met named Wilton Knight, he rescued him from the desert when everyone considered him dead, gave him his last name by adopting him as his son allowing him to take all the resources and money from the Knight Foundation, allowing him to prove, and fulfill his dream that a man can make a difference in the world.
Now pitifully Mr. Wilton Knight passed away leaving Devon Miles as the new boss, although at first they did not get along very well because of his different tastes and way of thinking, he has shown that he cares about him when he does not call to report.
She has also met the most beautiful technician and mechanic Bonnie has ever seen, she is her second co-worker, and as much as she has tried to like her charms she has shown that she is immune to them. But he's not a man who gives up so easily sooner or later will make Bonnie consider him his best friend or maybe more than just friends.
And let's not forget the best of all, the most wonderful car in the world, The Knight Industries 2000 or better known by the simple name of KITT. KITT is an invention by Mr. Wilton Knight who was built with the most advanced technology that has been made by humans, also with the molecular formula that makes him immune to almost every kind of weapon or bomb with a program to protect human life and especially his.
He never imagined in his life that he would have a talking car as a co-worker in the field. At first he didn't like a car talking, but he made that thought go away as he spent more time with him.
KITT has shown him that he is more than just a computer inside a luxurious Pontiac sports car after am, he has heard it when he feels sad or angry, made him laugh at his overwhelming personality, and his innocent questions about something related to human life, he has been willing to play with him either in video games or in chess, although he always loses and has to endure the taunts towards him, it is a pleasure to start another game with him again, he is also an excellent talker.
He is always the one who starts a conversation with him either about the mission or asking him some questions, if possible all day he would spend talking about anything that comes to his processor, but today he has been very quiet, that is not normal in the
On second thought since yesterday at no other time he said almost nothing, just vague answers to his questions and said nothing else or had to speak to him twice to answer him, that was worrying him a little. He decided that he had to establish a first conversation, he had to figure out what bothered his companion
KITT: he said, but did not receive an immediate response that is bad signal – KITT – he tried again by raising his voice a little and looking directly at the voice modulator in front of the
KITT: uh if Michael, said sounding a little sharp, the red bars lit up to the rhythm of his words
Michael: ¿how long before we get to New Mexico? – I ask.
KITT: 6 hours to go 34 minutes and 28 seconds to reach New Mexico – said with the same shear tone as before
Michael: 6 hours, that means we'll arrive around 11 a.m., just the right time to have a good lunch – I'm eating with a smile on your face, and waiting for an answer from KITT to suggest some restaurants where to go or just tell you what's bothering you. Instead, he received no further comment from him.
Okay, it's clear that something is bothering KITT but it is usually always expressed from what it doesn't like, because today was the exception. I waited for him to voluntarily tell you from yesterday when they were returning to the mansion, but it seems that he has to press him a little
Michael: ¿and tell me KITT, how are you today? – I ask by giving it a little smile
KITT: well as you can see I'm functional – I answer
Michael: No KITT, I mean you not the car - I explain trying not to let go of a little laugh over the answer
KITT: oh well and you – said a little less cutting
Michael: well too," he said, as he quickly thought of something else to say - and you have nothing to say today
KITT: something like that, " he said confusedly
Michael: I don't know, something you want to tell me
KITT: no, he said returning to his shear tone
It's enough for Michael to have KITT tell him he's bothering him so he could help him, he didn't like this KITT at all. So he was orilled on one side of the road so as not to get in the way of another driver passing by and I turn off the engine
Michael: All right KITT there's something that's bothering you since yesterday and you don't want to tell me for some reason – he said serious looking directly at the voice modulator as if it were KITT's "eyes"
KITT: it makes you think something bothers me – said a little surprised
Michael: well first of all you never stay so quiet when it's just you and me or someone from the foundation, second since yesterday I've noticed you very distracted when I talk to you, third your answers are very sharp – I explain seriously while I had your fingers the options I was saying – that's enough or I follow
They remained silent for a few minutes, until I could hear how A sigh of defeat came out from KITT
KITT: your win Michael - said in defeated tone
Michael smiled at hearing those words, he knew his friend is finally going to tell him what's been bothering him so much - you'd like to tell me maybe he can help you with whatever's going on your processor, " he said as he patted him on the board.
KITT: well you may think I'm crazy, but I've been thinking about KARR
Michael: at KARR – he said a little surprised by his response. Not less than 5 days ago since they got rid of KARR – but you said you didn't care
KITT: If I know, but I've re-analyzed Devon's story especially where he says KARR had been stored after they found out it was a danger
Michael: there's that.
KITT: well I thought how he should have felt alone in that great warehouse for almost two years - he said sadly in his voice – Michael that it would have happened if we hadn't made it destroyed by falling down that cliff – I end up with that question
Michael was surprised by what his partner was saying, had previously told him that he didn't care at all about the other car, but now he was worried and I spotted some guilt in his voice
Michael: One moment computers are supposed to have no emotions apart KARR was disabled I don't think he had any notion around him – he told him trying to reassure him
KITT: You're right at the first point Michael, but it still doesn't take away from having the thought of the bitter feeling of being abandoned in a warehouse that's what my twin weighed, and there's a 55 percent chance that when you're disabled you're aware of what's around
Michael: wait a minute, that means KARR could see and hear what was around
KITT: Don't see, but if you listen and the processor is running weakly, but it works
Michael let out a sigh - I think you're right it's very ugly to be abandoned – he said sadly in his voice.
Michael still has nightmares about the shot he was given in that desert and left to his fate, once again he feels grateful to Wilton Knight for giving him a second chance.
KITT: I wonder what would happen if... KARR we would have... eh reprogrammed with my program to protect human life
Michael: so he wouldn't have been a threat anymore and he'd be a part of us.
KITT: I would have liked to know KARR more thoroughly, to be able to consider him as an older brother to me and not a threat to the human race – KITT's tone of voice sounded sad and if I had eyes it is certain that I would have them weeping
Michael thought of a way to cheer up KITT it's true that computers supposedly don't have feelings, but KITT is the exception, every day that passes he realizes that he humanizes more and more and in fact that didn't bother him at all
Michael: KITT would have been great to have KARR working at the foundation, but what happened can no longer be remedied. He said in a reassuring voice as he held the board fondly
KITT: I know Michael
Michael: I'm not done yet," he said with a little humor in his voice, "what I mean is that not everything happens the way we want it, maybe what happened for a reason
KITT: ¿What reason would that be?
Michael: now KARR is in the sky of cars as you like to call it and must be in a better place than being here alive and that bad people like Tony use it as a weapon
KITT: you think so – he said a little more animated
Michael: if I think so
KITT: I think you're right Michael, I think it would have been hard to catch KARR to perform the rescheduling and I guess I wouldn't have wanted to come back of my own free will.
Michael: that point I'm not going to discuss it to you, " he said with a funny smile
After a few minutes of comfortable silence KITT decided to break it – Micheal
Michael: if KITT
KITT: Thank you for listening to me Michael – he said in a grateful tone
Michael: that's what KITT best friends are for. What do you say if we play a game of chess, I'll let you beat me again, you say
KITT: I'd love Michael, although you know perfectly well that I don't need you to let me win, I always win in every game
Michael: if because you cheat," he said as he re-ignited the engine and drove back to the road
KITT: I cheat, Michael that's humiliating that he thinks so of me - he said offensively – it's not my fault you're a bad loser
Michael: I'll show you that I'm not a bad KITT loser, play the game now
All along the way they played chess games that the winner is always KITT while Michael only won one and had to endure the taunts that KITT gives him.
