Hephaestus knows all that Aphrodite committed behind his back, all the affairs and scandals. He knows it all.
But did he ever says anything about it? No. Why? Because he simply don't care anymore--
Actually he cares, otherwise he wouldn't caught them-- Aphrodite and Ares-- having sex using the Golden Net and humiliated them to the other gods.
But that doesn't points out the fact that his heart became empty. So empty that he started to think he doesn't even have a wife to begin with.
His love for Aphrodite from the first time they married, the warm and pure love-- Faded to nothingness.
Hephaestus swing down the legendary hammer with strength that could crush a cyclop's head without breaking a sweat.
The anvil and the sword clashed sounds as his hammer force it's way to bend the steel.
Sweats slides from his tan, frowning face. " This should be enough for a normal enchanted sword's vessel. " He brings up the sword and observe it with careful and narrowed eyes.
He put down the sword on the anvil after confirming there is no flaw in his creation. Walking down to his workdesk, he grabs a handkerchief and wipes the sweats from his face.
He lets out a sigh before he settle down on a small bench fit only for him.
He briefly glance at the newly sword he forged. " Maybe I should've make it into a scythe... Nevermind that would be attracting some unwanted attention from the other gods. I'll just make it looks like a simple sword... "
Reaching out for a cup of water, he drinks it slowly.
His eyes linger towards his crippled leg and then to a mirror on the wall in front of him, he stares at his deformed head. He cringed at the sight of it before he took his attention away from his physical appearance.
" Maybe... I could create a new body and transfer my soul and divinity into it. But I need high quality resources in high quantity. Because I'm afraid the body won't be able to contain my soul, let alone my divinity. "
As he continues thinking for a place with good resources, he doesn't notice that Eros sneak into his smith and sit beside him.
" What are you thinking father? "
Hephaestus almost jump from his bench but managed to control his reactions. " O-oh, Eros.. I... I'm just thinking of forging another jewelry for your mother. Yes, a jewelry... "
Eros frowns, " Father you yourself should know she never appreciate you but only your gifts. You should stop father, mother doesn't care about you at all, she only cares about pleasures and happiness of herself! "
Hephaestus sadly gaze to Eros, " You shouldn't talk about your mother like that Eros, she's the one who gave birth to you. "
Eros fumed, " I wouldn't talk about her like that if it's wasn't true. Father, you deserve your own happiness. Mother doesn't deserve a man like you at all!! "
Hephaestus said nothing but stares on the floor.
Eros noticed this and he continues, " Father, whatever your decision is, I'll give you my support. "
Hephaestus chuckles, making Eros confused. " You know I'm not your real father right? "
Eros smiled with sadness, " I know... But compare to you and that... man. You are more of a father to me, father. "
Hephaestus closed his eyes and smiles before he brings his right arm and gives his son a side hug. " I'll think about it. Now, don't you have anything to do other than disturbing your father working? "
Eros smiles, a joy one this time, " Aww come ooonn, before I enter I saw you sitting here, you're not even working!! "
Hephaestus flicks his forehead in annoyance, " That's because I just finished my work, now off you go. "
Eros stick out his tongue while rubbing the flicked spot and run away before Hephaestus could flick his forehead again.
" That kid... He's already old enough not to act like a child but-- " He chuckles to himself as he couldn't find a word to continue.
Hephaestus gets up and his expression changes, from a smile to frown, " Yes, Eros is right, I should've ended this long ago. No matter, I'll end this meaningless marriage today. "
And with that he packs up his tools and put them in their place before he walk out from his smith.

Aphrodite hums quietly in her room while combing her hair.
Her attention drifted to the jewelries on her desk, so beautiful and mesmerizing. She smile to herself, her husband forged it for her as a sign of his love to her.
Suddenly, her smile disappear, shock was painted on her face. ' Husband? You're kidding me, no way I'm going to admit that... creature, is my husband. '
She nodded, satisfied with her own statement before she continues combing her hair. Slowly, a frown was formed on her face as she slowed down combing. ' But... What is this I'm feeling deep in my heart...? '

As Zeus is having time for himself while sitting on his throne, sipping the divine wine he was interrupted by Hephaestus appeared in the middle of the hall.
" Lord Zeus. " Hephaestus' rough voice registered in his ears.
Zeus frown but shake it off. " Yes, my son? "
Hephaestus grunt at the title but he ignores it. " I have come for a request. "
Zeus nodded, indicating him to continue.
Hephaestus narrowed his eyes, ' Weird, he seems very quiet today... Nevermind, priority comes first. '
Hephaestus took off his wedding ring and shows it to Zeus, " I have come, in request of you to dissolve my marriage with Aphrodite. "
Zeus widened his eyes for a bit, " Dissolve? So you wish to divorce her? "
Hephaestus nodded, " Yes, I have endured long enough but not anymore. "
Zeus nodded in understanding as he get up from his throne and summon a lightning bolt before he threw it towards his palace.
" I can dissolve your marriage, but you have to ask it from the Goddess of Marriage herself. "
Hephaestus frowns deeply as he glares Zeus, " What? "
Zeus ignores the rudeness, " Hera will handle this case in my place. Now if you excuse me, I have something better to do. "
Zeus flash away from his spot right before Hera appeared in the hall. " You have summon me, Zeus? "
She looks around in confusion before her eyes settles down on Hephaestus, " Son? What are you doing here? And where is Zeus? "
Hephaestus almost snarl at her statement, " Do NOT call me your son, Lady Hera. As for Lord Zeus, he said he has something batter to do so he summoned you to solve my case in his stead. "
Hera seems to flinch at his tone but managed to hide it from him, " I-I see, so what kind of case is it? "
" I want to dissolve my marriage with Aphrodite. " Hephaestus said.
" What!? "
