Chapter One – Overdue rent
In a little two bedroom flat in South London lived two very different men. They had known each other since their days at London University. You know what they say the goods one are gone too quick and the bad ones never leave.
It was a typical morning for Mark and Jeremy, once again the fridge lay bare with only Jeremy to blame. Mark wouldn't let it get to him normally, but today was the big meeting with JLS's head managers and he didn't want to fuck it up.
"For Fuck sake Jeremy you was suppose to do the shop this week!" Mark Shouted to be heard over the hypnotically shit bassline pulsating from the box room.
Jeremy appeared in the doorway wearing an unzipped hoodie, Marks jogging bottom and no t-shirt. He appeared to be high.
"What's up?" He asked lazily as he lent against the doorframe.
"What's up? WHATS UP?! What's up is that it was your fucking week to do the shopping, and you haven't! I have a meeting in half an hour, how am I suppose to concentrate without any food. You've fucked up my life Jeremey you selfish prick. Now were both going to be homeless!' Mark gestured wildly at the fridge and at Jeremy.
Jeremy paused for a second to consider his options. This wasn't the first time Mark had lost his temper at Jeremy, It had become daily ritual. Sometimes Jeremy wondered if he did things just to get a reaction from Mark. Jeremy stood in silence staring at the kitchen wall for twenty minutes straight. Mark left after three.
As Mark stormed out of the apartment he could only see red. He was angry at Jeremy for never considering his feelings. He stormed through the frigid winter morning warmed by his anger.
He sent a text to Jeremy. You better make this up to me -M
He forced his cheap phone into his pocket, He tried desperately to warm his finger so he could grab change for the quickly approaching bus, He fumbled as the bus pulled into the stop, change littered the path. "Fucking Jeremy" He muttered to himself. The driver looked at him in a way that suggested that he hated every person on earth, Specially Mark. After what felt like the thirty most embarrassing seconds his life he boarded the bus. 3.40, Fuck 10p short.
Mark handed over the change, hoping that the bus driver wouldn't count it.
" This weather today.." He asked trying and failing to distract the broken man of a driver.
"Another 10p pal" Something in his voice suggested mark wasn't his pal.
"e-e-ermm I dont have it, But I can give you in tommor- " "10p or get off mate" the driver said louder, so the little old women sat in the front row could hear and judge.
"But I ne- " "GETOFFTHEBUS!" When bus driver stood up, he touched the ceiling. His face was a shade of crimson.
"Oh I thought I was going to miss you, Oh hi Mark" said a little middle aged women as she boarded the bus, she had a friendly but condescending smile. " Is everything ok?" Sophie questioned surveying the scene of the red faced driver and a terrified mark.
"Can I borrow 10p" Mark asked as quick as the question came out of her mouth.
She rummaged through her oversized bag for what seemed like an eternity.
" I only have two 5ps, is that okay?" Both the Mark and the bus driver look at her, in an unspoken agreement.
"Lovely amazing Sophie, always there to save the day" He thought to himself.
They sat down next to each other on the bus. Sophie took the window seat which mark thought was unfair because he was on the bus first.
A loud ping from Marks phone broke the Silence. It was a text from Jeremy
I'm going to do more then make it up to you – J x
