Hello my loves and welcome to a new story collaborated on by myself and Mysteryheart.

It's based off of a funny story that was posted on Facebook about some neighbours who are increasingly nice to one another and try to one up each other on the niceness scale.

I hope you enjoy it and I will not let it interfere with my updates of Into the Shadows.

Do you ever have one of those weeks where you're just begging for the weekend? You know the ones I mean right? The ones where each day gets progressively worse until you're practically thirsting for Saturday to get here so you can spend two blissful days not worrying about having to set an alarm or look well put together.

Well that's me right now. I have had possibly one of the worst weeks of my teaching career so far.

Monday morning my street had a power cut and my alarm never went off. making me late for my first class.

On Tuesday my hair dryer blew up and I had to spend the day blowing unruly curls out of my face.

Wednesday I had to substitute a class for the junior coach and took a dodgeball to the face. Cue nosebleed ad a bunch of crying middle schoolers.

Yesterday my pants ripped while I was writing on the white board, resulting in a load of wolf whistles from pubescent boys. Good job I was wearing my nice underwear and not what I like to call my 'comfy' ones.

And today my yellow lab decided it was a good idea to chew up his bed and barf it into my work shoes, meaning I have to wear my heels to class. Not ideal for standing on my feet all day.

Roll on three thirty when I can come back home.

Just as I was pulling out of my street two large U-Haul trucks pulled in, followed closely by a silver Volvo and a grey Jeep.

The work day dragged past at a snails pace, but thankfully there were no further mishaps to end my week of torture.

I pulled into my driveway and noticed boxes and a bedframe spread all over my neighbours front yard. The Jeep and Volvo from this morning were taking up the driveway.

New neighbours at last. Let's hope they're better than the last couple that lived there.

Lauren and Tyler Crowley were the type of neighbours you'd expect to find in a trailer park. Lauren was a little neurotic and constantly accused Tyler of cheating on her, which resulted in slanging matches in the street. More often than not the cops were called on them, and you can guarantee that their make up sessions were louder.

No, hopefully the new owners moving in would be nothing like them.

I stepped out of my car and went crashing to the ground as the heel snapped on my shoe.

"GOD DAMMIT!" I yelled, slipping off the offending footwear and chucked it at my house, where it bounced off of the front door making Jake bark within.

The commotion caused my new neighbours to come outside and see what was going on. My mouth dropped open at the sight of them as they spied me on the floor and strode over to help.

Dear lord they were gorgeous. There were no similarities between the two apart from the fact that they were both tall. One had a boyish face with deep dimples and baby blue eyes, topped with a mop of messy brown curls. He was also built like a Mack truck. Bulky and solid with bulging muscles that stretched out his plain white tee nicely. The other was leaner with a more chiselled face, that was shaded with a five o'clock shadow. Angular jaw line and nose, with viridian green eyes and an unruly set of bronze locks.

I think I might have drooled a little.

"Hey. Are you okay? We heard a shout." The big one asked, leaning down to help me up.

"Yeah, thanks. Just a spectacular end to a craptastic week." I replied, putting my hand in his massive one. He helped me to my feet and made sure I was steady as I kicked off my other heel.

"You're not hurt are you?" The green eyed god asked, looking nervous.

"Only my pride." I grumbled, dusting myself off. "I'm Bella by the way. Bella Swan."

"I'm Emmett and this is Edward. We just moved in with our dog Ness." Dimples said, finally letting go of me.

"Welcome to the neighbourhood. It's been nice to meet you both. I better go before Jake stress pees all over my house." I motioned to the window next to my front door where my dog had his face practically pressed against the glass while he barked.

"Oh nice! You have a Labrador too. Ours is a chocolate one. We've left her in our back yard for the time being, so that we can get moved in without her getting underfoot."

"Well I look forward to meeting her one day. I hope you both get settled in nicely." I waved them off as they made their way back to their home and opened my front door and was met with a very excited bundle of energy. "Jake! Jake down!" I had to yell over his excited, whining bark.

I let him out into my yard and searched the pantry for something decent for dinner. While I was in there I spied all the fixings for my favourite cookies. Indulgent fudgy chocolate brownie ones. I was going to bake my new neighbours a welcome gift.

I pulled out all of the ingredients that I needed and switched on my oven before getting to work. Soon my kitchen was filled with the heavenly aromas of melted chocolate and browned butter.

It was while I was pulling the second batch out of the oven when I realised Jake hadn't come back inside yet. I took my oven mitts off and called his name from the back door.

I started to worry when he didn't come running like he usually would. I stepped outside and spotted his tail wagging furiously in the bushes next to the fence. "Hey bud, whatcha got there?" I stroked his back and he looked round with his tongue lolling out, before diving back into the bush. I crouched down to see what he was so intrigued with and saw a furry brown face staring back at me through the fence. "Hey girl. You must be Ness." I reached out to stroke her nose and she happily licked my hand. A sharp whistle sounded and Ness' face disappeared from the gap.

"Come on Jake." I stood and tugged on his collar. "Let's get you some dinner." At the mention of food Jake zoomed into the house before me and sat patiently by his food bowl. I diced up some of the cold cooked chicken I got for him and mixed it with his kibble before tipping it into his bowl where he proceeded to greedily gobble it up.

Later that evening I packaged up the two dozen cookies I baked into a fancy gift box with a separate bag of the home made dog treats I usually make for Jake. I added a nice bottle of red wine, which I know compliments the cookies perfectly, and wrote out a note for the couple next door.

Edward, Emmett and Ness,
Welcome to the neighbourhood. I hope you both find life here really satisfactory.
Enjoy the cookies, they're my own personal recipe. I also added some all natural doggy treats for Ness.
All the best, your walking disaster of a neighbour and her overly excited lab. x

I set the box on their porch and rung the bell, before running back to my house and locking up for the night.
