Hey y'all what's up. Betchu didn't expect anything SK8 related from me. Well, jokes on all of us, I didn't expect it either. I binged it the other day and when I got to Reki and Langa's argument I couldn't stop thinking about Shiki and Eri's story from TWEWY and I kept thinking about how Shiki and Reki should meet and talk about their problems.
This takes place at like the end of episode 7 of SK8 I guess? And two years after the end of TWEWY (and one year before Neo:TWEWY starts).
This is Shiki-POV because why the heck not, this ain't her first rodeo, and I've only watched SK8 once and there's no way I'd be able to characterize Reki right the entire time. I'm still not confident on that front because, again, I've only watched SK8 once, and that was like 24 hours ago. I hope I did his character justice.
Also this ended up being way longer than I had originally intended, so strap in because this is a longer one at almost 5000 words (4945 to be exact). Enjoy!
Shiki was in uncharted territory. Well, not exactly uncharted to Japan, but morley to her. She was in Okinawa on a search for fashion. Gatto Nero, the brand that she and Eri own, was getting really popular in Shibuya recently, and they had both expressed the desire to branch out in the range of their fashion. And so, they both agreed to tackle different types of fashion styles. Eri was looking into bohemian styles of clothes, while Shiki went to look for clothes that skateboarders would wear while doing their thing.
Shiki had originally asked Beat, but he had been less than helpful, not knowing a thing about fashion and often went skating in whatever he happened to be wearing that day. So she reached out to Rhyme who often accompanies Beat when he goes out for the day.
Rhyme had been more than happy to help out, and had delved into the internet (Shiki idly wondered if Rhyme was very passionate about helping people because of their lack of dreams─ something never recovered from the Game). They had returned with the knowledge that lots of skaters congregated in Okinawa. Shiki had initially hesitated at first, due to lack of funds set aside for this, which was resolved when she received money from an anonymous sponsor (she had given Mr. H a look when she found out. She had wanted to do this on her own, thanks, without divine intervention of any kind).
So she had taken the train and ship ride out to Okinawa and was staying at a relatively decent hotel. And now she was wandering around aimlessly, conserving phone battery so she could find her way back, looking for skaters. She had seen a few, but by the time she had worked up the nerve to initiate a conversation, they were already long gone. Probably no one paid any attention to a plain-looking girl holding a stuffed animal. She hugs Mr. Mew as she walks.
As she was walking she saw a boy around her age with red hair wearing bright clothes skating down a slope. She watches as the boy skates into the small underpass of the street she was standing on. The boy must have stopped because the sound of the skateboard rolling stops under her. A few moments after, a boy about the same age, maybe a little taller, with blue hair following him at a much faster pace.
Shiki was used to the sounds of skateboards riding seemingly impossible spots, she was friends with Beat, after all, so she could tell when the blue-haired boy pulls off a trick. Hmm, maybe she should ask them about what kind of clothes they would wear when skating.
"Was that good for you?" She heard the boy, probably the blue-haired one based on the context, ask.
Instead of any congratulations or awe at pulling off the trick, like Shiki expected, the red-haired responds in a near opposite manner.
"Um… do you think you could do that ten times in a row?"
"What?"
"Ah─ sorry, it's nothing!"
Oh boy was that tone of voice painfully familiar for Shiki. The oddly quiet out-of-character tone hastily brushed off. Shiki knew that better than anyone. Inferiority and jealousy, stewing together in a, how did that Reaper put it? "Stir-fry of emotions" or something? Her grip on Mr. Mew tightens.
The two depart on their skateboards and kept going, presumably to school if the early morning told her anything. Shiki frowns at the red-haired boy as they continue down the road. It was obvious to her that he was jealous of his friend, probably something to do with skateboarding.
"What's wrong, Shiki?"
"Ah… I just─ can't figure out what's wrong with my design. No matter what I add to it or change, it's still not right."
A pause. "You're not meant to be a designer."
Those words had hurt when Eri had said them to her two years ago, but she hadn't understood what Eri was trying to say. Shiki had already fled before Eri could even fully register how Shiki had reacted. And what happened after…
Shiki shakes her head roughly, short brown hair flying wildly, glasses nearly falling off her face before she scrambles with her hands to not let them fall, nearly dropping Mr. Mew in the process. She doesn't need to dwell on the past, even with all the happy memories there. She was a girl on a mission.
Shiki startles, "Shoot! I was gonna ask them about clothes…" She looks in the direction the boys' had gone, but they were already long gone by now. Her stomach growls, and she blushes, despite no one being around to witness it. "Hope there's a café around here."
By the time the sun was beginning to set, Shiki decides to head back to her hotel and find somewhere to grab dinner and review all the design notes she had taken for herself and Eri. Once they were both done with their clothes research, they would reconvene and discuss what they could make that was within their realm of possibilities (which seem almost limitless these days).
Shiki already had a few general ideas from what she had gotten from a small few people who skateboarded, though most of them were unsure, giving answers like "I wear my school uniform" or "I just happened to be wearing this today" or "I never give it much thought". Though, she supposed that people who stopped to answer her fashion-related questions while skateboarding probably didn't care enough about skateboarding to consider something like their attire for when they skate. Those who were very passionate didn't typically let anything get in their way.
She was walking down the overpass from earlier when she saw the red-haired boy from earlier without his blue-haired friend.
The boy was attempting to do the trick the blue-haired boy had done, reaching for a star someone had spray-painted. And failing. And every time he did, he would add a mark to the ground alongside many others. And even from up here, she could see plenty of marks.
The boy was getting frustrated, she could tell. Shiki sighs and starts to head for the slope that went down to the underpass. He needs help, and even though Shiki might barely know anything about skateboarding, much less standing on one without falling after five seconds, she knows that sometimes people just need someone to vent to.
"Shh! What're you─"
"Let's hear him out. Sometimes all people need is a good listener."
Her heart throbs.
When she made it down to where the boy was, he had re-tried and fallen yet again. The boy remains on the ground for a second longer, head pressed against his hand.
"Dammit!" The boy let out, frustration and anger laced in his voice.
"Um," Shiki calls out, the boy whipping around in surprise.
"What do you want?" He demands, voice sharp. His harsh tone seemed to have surprised himself as he flinches slightly after speaking.
Shiki didn't let it bother her. "Are you okay? Where's your friend?"
The boy scowls and looks away, "Not here. I'm not passing any messages for you so don't ask."
Shiki blinks in surprise. He thought she was talking to him to get closer to his friend? "I wasn't going to. I don't even know who he is."
The boy finally looks back in her direction, face vaguely surprised. "Then why're you asking?"
"Oh, uh, I saw you with him when I was passing by this morning."
He looks confused, "Then why are you talking to me? And who are you anyway?"
Shiki moves a bit closer, to a distance where they didn't have to talk quite as loud. "I'm Shiki Misaki. Call me Shiki. I, uh, saw you skateboarding from up there." She points to where she had been standing before.
The boy shifts into a comfortable sitting position, posture a tad bit more relaxed. Okay, she could work with this. "I'm Reki."
Shiki tilts her head. "First or last name?"
Reki scratches the back of his head, "My last name is Kyan. Everyone calls me Reki, though."
"Can I call you Reki, then? Or would you prefer that I stick to your last name? O-Or something else entirely?"
He considers her for a second. "Nah, Reki's fine." There's an awkward pause between them. "So, uh, what didja want?"
Shiki pauses, trying to choose her words carefully, "I saw that you were trying to do whatever skateboard trick your friend did earlier. You're putting a lot of effort into it, too."
"So?"
"There's, ah, no good way to say this, so I'm just gonna be blunt." Reki tilts his head as she speaks. "You're jealous of him."
Reki looks downright offended and like he was considering running off, but Shiki had expertly (accidentally) places herself between him and his bag, so he couldn't run without his stuff, "N-No I'm not! What do I have to be jealous of? Why would I be jealous of him? H-He's my friend."
Shiki sighs, "I get it. Don't make that face, I do."
Reki glares at her, "How would you know?"
"I've been jealous, too. Of my best friend," she adds after a second.
Reki's posture loosens again. "Really?"
Shiki smiles and moves to sit down near him. "Yeah. It was… pretty bad. I want to be a fashion designer with my best friend Eri, but… I'm not good at designing like she was."
"Is that why you were jealous?"
"That's a small part of it. Eri's… amazing. She's smart and pretty and has a good design sense and lots of friends. I was jealous of someone as amazing as her. I… wanted to be her."
Reki is quiet for a few moments, "How did it turn out?"
Shiki hugs Mr. Mew tightly to her chest. "We… got into an argument. I was at Eri's place; we were working on designs. I was getting frustrated because I couldn't come up with a good design. Eri told me that I 'wasn't meant to be a designer.'"
Reki cringes at that, "That's… why on Earth would she say that?" Either Shiki's ears deceive her, or Reki actually sounds angry at that. She smiles a little.
"At first, I thought she was fed up with me being bad at designing. But I didn't find out until later what she really meant."
"Were you avoiding her?"
"No, I…" Shiki sighs and stares down at the grass they are sitting on. "After she said that to me I just… ran. I didn't have a destination in mind, I just didn't want to be there anymore. It was raining, and it was dark. I was running, and wasn't looking where I was going and… I fell."
"You fell?" Reki sounds, understandably, confused. "How did that stop you from talking to your friend?"
"I fell into the street," Shiki says, not paying attention to how Reki slowly starts to put the pieces together, pieces taken from the consequences of being in the street when you aren't supposed to be, starting to look horrified. "...and got hit by a car."
She's running. She's cold and wet, too. Her eyes sting with hot tears behind her glasses and her vision is blurry. The street lights glare against her glasses, momentarily blinding her.
Her foot slips out from beneath her and she falls forwards, Mr. Mew flying from her grip. A bright light overcomes her from the side, and she thinks she hears someone screaming, and something crashes into her and Shiki is flying away.
She's on the ground, her glasses gone, Mr. Mew is no longer with her. Her arms hurt, actually scratch that. Her whole body hurts. She's lying there, eyes shut.
The car didn't stop or apparently didn't notice her there or care enough to stop. She hears the crunching of asphalt grow louder as people start screaming. She's screaming, too, she's sure (she only had the strength for a choked scream) but she knows it wasn't for long.
Shiki Misaki dies there, before the ambulances can arrive, and before Eri could even begin to apologize.
The next day she wakes up in the Scramble Crossing gasping for breath. She's not herself, she realizes but doesn't get much time to process it before she's running for her life(?) towards Hachiko, as frogs that were, quite frankly, way too big to be normal chase her down, shooting bubbles at her. Not even including the graffiti legs they have. Good grief! She's out of breath when she gets away, gasping violently── as she's suspended in the air, hands grasping at her neck where blue pulses of energy use Eri's─ no, her─ jacket collar to strangle her. She begs the boy to stop as she stares at her with unfocused eyes as her vision begins to dim and she swears she begins to see static as──
A hand on her shoulder startles her. Shiki didn't even realize that she had stopped talking. Or that she was gasping for breath, too, apparently.
"Hey, are you okay?" Reki asks quickly, concern apparent as he maintains eye contact.
"Y-Yeah," Shiki assures him with a weak smile. She gulps down an almost painful breath. "Sorry about that, I'm good now."
Reki leans back to where he was before but keeps an eye on her. "If you say so."
"W-Where was I?"
"Uh… you said you got hit by a car?"
"R-Right. I was in the hospital for three weeks. And while I was there, I realized that I was jealous of Eri. And my friend told me that jealousy wasn't a bad thing."
Reki seems more interested in what she has to say now than he did before, "How is jealousy not a bad thing? It certainly isn't a good thing."
Shiki nods, "A person I met at the hospital, his name is Neku, told me that I was lucky to be jealous. He said that it gave me something to shoot for. And that I should shoot for it."
Reki frowns, "That doesn't make sense to me."
Shiki shrugs, "It's okay if you don't. My situation doesn't necessarily have the same details that everyone else does."
"So how did it turn out with your friend?"
"Oh yeah! We made up! Eri wouldn't stop apologizing to me for what she said. She said that because she meant that I had a really good future as a seamstress. In hindsight, I really should have figured that that was what she had meant."
He shrugs. "I doubt I would have understood what she meant in the first place if I were in your shoes. I'm glad you two made up though."
"Me too. I'm super lucky to have someone as amazing as her as my friend." Shiki shifts from her spot on the ground before looking at Reki. "What happened between you and your friend? If you don't mind me asking."
Reki leans back, arms supporting him, as he looks up at the sunset, "His name is Langa. He moved out here to Okinawa about a month ago. He's from Canada. I taught him how to skateboard, actually."
Shiki nods her head, listening attentively. "That's pretty cool."
"He was a complete novice at first, could barely stand on his board without falling. I took him to a, uh… tournament thing for… skateboarders."
"They host tournaments here?"
"Well, it's less of a tournament and more of a casual race thing… though people take the races super seriously though."
"They must be very passionate," Shiki notes, a finger to her chin in thought.
Reki grins, "Yeah they are. Anyways, someone was challenging me to a race because I accidentally grabbed the wrong bag for a delivery I was doing."
"Sounds pretty extreme."
"Well, not as extreme as what happened next. Langa duct-taped his feet to the board!"
"He what!?"
"I know, right? Not to mention he was going up against one of the top skaters here, too. He ended up winning, too."
"For his first race? That's impressive."
"Yeah," Reki agrees, though his face fell. "He kept winning, too. As I fell behind. He's been catching the attention of a bunch of the top skaters. Even this one dickhead named Adam."
Shiki frowns, "You don't seem to like him. At all."
Reki scowls, "How can I? I hate him! I raced him once, and I almost died."
"What."
Reki flinches slightly at her tone. "Yeah. Langa promised me he wouldn't race him, so… anyways, back to what I was saying before. Langa's been getting super well-known by all the skaters, but people just look at me and say crap like 'oh hey it's that guy who's always with Langa' or 'oh look it's Langa's friend' like that's my only characteristic."
Shiki looks down, "So that's why you're jealous then. Because your friend is getting all the attention and that's all people are seeing you as. Langa's friend, and not as Reki, a person who loves to skateboard."
Reki sighs, "Yeah pretty much, granted it's a bit more complicated than that because of Adam, but that's pretty much it."
Shiki hums, before turning to Reki, "Feeling better?"
"Huh?"
"You seemed pretty down before, so…"
Reki considers the question, "I guess I do. Don't know why I told you all of that though."
Shiki adjusts her glasses, "Sometimes all people need is a good listener. And it seemed like you needed to get that off your chest."
"Maybe," Reki admits. "But maybe it's because we're similar? Like, we've both been jealous of someone really close to us?"
"That would make sense," Shiki nods, before suddenly fixing Reki with a sharp glare. "Ugh, I can't take it anymore!"
Reki flinches away, "What did I do!?"
"Reki," Shiki growls. "Your sweatshirt. It has a hole in it."
Reki blinks before looking at his sleeve, which indeed had a few small holes in it. "Probably from when I fell earlier. Why does it mat─"
"It matters! I can't stand things like that!" Shiki relaxes slightly.
"Neku… that button on your shorts."
"Oh, yeah. What does is matt─"
"It matters! I can't stand things like that!"
Shiki forces herself away from that memory. "But! Lucky for you, I can fix it!"
Reki gives her a look. Not a bad one, but a look. "Now? How?"
Shiki dug through her black book bag and pulls out a needle and thread that matches the color of Reki's sweatshirt. "I always carry a needle and thread with me! Just in case I need to fix things on the go. And! I'll fix it for free!"
Reki rubs the back of his head, "Okay, I guess."
Shiki moves closer and pulls his sleeve (meaning his whole arm) easily into her reach. "This might take me a bit, so… tell me more about yourself I guess."
"About me?"
"Yeah. I don't know all that much about you, despite your friend troubles."
Shiki threads the needle before pushing it through his sleeve, slowly as Reki watches to make sure that he knew that she knows what she's doing.
"Uh, okay. Um, I'm 17 years old. I have three sisters, all of them are younger but two of them are toddlers. They annoy me a lot."
"I've always wondered what it would be like to have a younger sibling."
"Oh, I love skateboarding, even though there are a bunch of people better than me─ ow! What was that for!?"
Shiki pulls the needle back towards her and points it threateningly towards Reki. "I don't accept that response. Negative comparison is not an answer."
"Uh… I love skateboarding?"
"What about it?"
"Well… the feeling I get when the wind is rushing around me or the feeling I get when I pull off tricks. That's what got me into skateboarding in the first place."
"Sounds relaxing when you put it that way. I get second-hand anxiety just watching tricks."
"It's so much fun when you're actually doing it, though. Hmm, what else… oh I work at a store that sells skateboards."
"Ooh, that's cool. What do you do there?"
"I make skateboards! And I make deliveries, too. Though… I recently found out that my boss owes money and we might have to close…"
"That sucks. Almost done, by the way."
"Oh sweet. But, yeah, the shop might close. It's kinda strange though, we get a decent amount of customers so money really shouldn't be an issue. Though… I did screw up an order the other day… crap if that's part of─ ow! Why?" Reki whines.
Shiki shook her head, "Not your fault, you didn't know. Plus, it was an accident, right? And the success of the store is not based on the success of the employees, it's about how well the store does as a whole and how the owner operates everything."
Reki blinks, "You… sure know a lot about stores."
"Well, duh," Shiki says, pulling the thread back towards her and cutting it. "Eri and I do own a store in Shibuya. We're brand owners, too. There I'm done."
Reki inspects his sleeve, "Wow! I totally can't tell that it had a hole in it at all!"
Shiki rolls her eyes and packs her stuff back into her bag, "I just said I own a store. I make clothes for a living."
Before Reki can respond, his stomach growls. He deflates a bit, "Oh yeah… Mom was making dinner tonight. Well… too late now I guess."
"Now that I think about it…" Shiki starts. "I haven't eaten either."
"Wanna go grab a bite to eat?" Reki offers with a shrug.
"Sure, why not," Shiki agrees. "Lead the way!"
The two end up at a fast-food restaurant. Shiki keeps her order simple, ordering a burger and fries while Reki orders a pizza. Shiki never thought a restaurant would have much diversity in their menus without being a buffet, but she supposes there's no harm in diversity.
Reki checks his phone for the time but stops when he sees the text notifications on it.
"Oh… Langa texted me."
Shiki is quick to inquire. "What'd he say?"
Reki quickly skims the messages, "He was wondering where I was. Oh… and apparently Adam started a proper tournament. Langa says he's gonna enter."
"Well? Are you gonna join?"
Reki considers it, "I feel like it's a bad idea. Especially with what happened last time I raced Adam. I feel like it's a trap, or I'd be playing right into his hands or something."
"Well… the best way to win is not to play, I guess," Shiki muses aloud. "Maybe you could go to at least cheer Langa on? Since you two are friends."
"Yeah… probably too late to enter anyways. I'll think about spectating, though." There's a small pause before Reki speaks up again. "I've been wondering, what's that stuffed animal you've been carrying?"
Shiki's eyes light up, "Oh you mean Mr. Mew?"
"...Mr. Mew?"
"Yeah! He's the reason I got into sewing. I made him a really long time ago, so he's not my best work, and I've had to fix his stitches a lot, but he's still my favorite." The addition of bringing him to life in the Game is left unsaid.
"That's pretty cool. I make skateboards a lot, too, and I've been experimenting recently."
Shiki nods along, "My friends Beat and… Neku used to make skateboards, too. Beat would do most of the building parts and Neku would paint them."
"Your friends?" Reki asks.
"Yeah. I met them when I was in the, uh, hospital. There's Neku, who I met first. He's pretty quiet, but he really likes art and music. Then there's Beat and his younger sibling Rhyme. Beat's… not the brightest, but he has a lot of passion, and he loves Rhyme a lot. He likes skateboarding too. He wants to be the best skateboarder, too! Rhyme's pretty quiet too and doesn't talk about themselves a lot. They always have a quote or adage of some kind to fit the situation. And lastly, there's Joshua. I don't know… a whole too lot about him. He rarely talks about himself. Well, besides his hatred of capitalism." Reki snorts at that. "Oh, he likes ramen, too. And sync bars, which are okay. He also likes music, mostly classical though."
"Those are some names, though I know someone named Joe and Cherry Blossom, so I guess it's not the strangest I've heard."
Shiki scratches the back of her head sheepishly, "Beat, Rhyme, and Joshua all use nicknames. Their real names are Daisukenojo, Raimu, and Yoshiya."
Reki makes a face, "Now those are some names."
Shiki giggles at that, "Yeah. Eri, Beat, Rhyme, and I hang out a ton. Joshua doesn't always hang out with us. He can get busy at times."
"What about… Neku, was it?"
"Huh?"
"Does he not hang out with you guys?"
"Oh…" Shiki's face falls. "He does it's just…" Shiki trails off while Reki frowns. Shiki takes a deep breath before continuing. "He went missing two years ago. He and Beat were attacked by someone and they split up. We haven't heard from him since."
Reki's face is scrunched up like he's uncomfortable with the implication, "I'm sorry. Have the police done anything yet?"
Shiki shrugs, "They tried, but nothing. I like to believe that he's still out there somewhere, trying to make his way back to us. Neku's strong, he wouldn't just die like that."
"I see…" Reki shifts for a second before speaking again. "You said that you and Eri run a store together? Where is it?"
"Shibuya. Where I'm visiting from."
"Yeah, I figured you were visiting."
"Really? How'd you know?"
"You kind of just radiate city girl energy."
"How does that work?"
"I don't know, that's just what I got."
"Hmm… I guess you kinda radiate skater energy, too."
"What, did my entire appearance not scream that?"
"No, it does. Overwhelmingly so."
Reki groans. "What's your store, err brand you said? What's it called?"
"Gatto Nero. It means 'Black Cat' in Italian," Shiki explains.
"Italian? Who's idea was that?"
Shiki giggles, "Joshua's. He and Mr. H, short for Hanekoma, thought of it."
Reki sighs, "Unoriginal yet original at the same time."
"Hey!" She swings her foot to kick him but misses. "What about your friends, what are they like?"
Reki leans back in his chair, "Well I already told you a lot about Langa… oh, I didn't mention that he used to snowboard a ton when he lived in Canada. There's Miya. He's kind of small, but he's super talented at skateboarding. He pulled off some really impressive high-level tricks, too. Langa barely managed to beat him in a race. Oh and Shadow. He's a bigger dude, and pretty passionate about skateboarding, even if he can get a bit aggressive about it. Uhhh who else… oh yeah Joe and Cherry Blossom. I mentioned them earlier. Joe has green hair and probably the most amount of abs I think I've ever seen on a dude. He works as a chef, I think. And then there's Cherry. He has light pink hair. Have you ever seen someone with pink hair before?"
"Yeah, Eri's hair is pink. A darker shade than cherry blossoms, though."
"Oh cool. Cherry's skateboard has an AI built into it. Named Carla or something. Very techy. I don't actually know what Cherry does for a job, though."
"Can't know everything about everyone," Shiki shrugs.
"Can't argue with ya there. Oh, you said you're from Shibuya, right? Why are you visiting Okinawa? You got family here or something?"
"Ah," Shiki looks a bit embarrassed. "Well, Eri and I are wanting to expand our brand's diversity. Not just stick to one thing, you know? Rhyme did some digging and said that there are a bunch of skateboarders here, and so… here I am."
"Why look for skateboarders specifically?"
"Oh, that's just the style of clothes we were looking into. What's a better way to find out than to talk to them directly."
"How's it going so far?"
Shiki slumps a bit. "Not the greatest. All the people I've talked to don't think about it that much, so I just kinda took notes on what they were wearing… Oh! Langa said that there's a tournament, right?"
Reki is leaning away slightly, looking vaguely taken aback. "Uh… yeah, why?"
"Then there'd be a bunch of skaters there! And those participating might take what they're wearing into account! I'd be able to get a lot more specific details that way! If you're going, you could show me the way there, and cheer on your friend while you're at it!"
Shiki is not going to take no for an answer. She may not be the most sociable person at first, but she is extremely stubborn about fashion. Reki must see that, too, because he just sighs.
"I'm still thinking about spectating. And I guess I do want to make up with Langa, so, be sure to take you if I go."
"Yes!" Shiki cheers, but not loudly enough to disturb the other patrons. "...Then I guess we should exchange contact information, huh."
"I guess," Reki says and takes out his phone. "Jeez, it's already this late? I gotta get home soon or my mom will worry."
Shiki nods understandingly but takes Reki's phone to add her number while handing her phone to Reki to add his. "Yeah. I'm getting kind of tired, too. I need to head back as well. Let me know if you decide to go, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, I heard you the first time."
"Good! I'll see you another time then," Shiki offers a small wave.
"See ya."
If someone wants to write a companion to this from Reki's perspective I would be absolutely thrilled. This was intended to be a one-shot, mainly because motivation and inspiration comes and goes, and I can't quite characterize the SK8 characters yet. Anyways. Since this is from Shiki's, and therefore from the TWEWY perspective, I imagine that anyone who came here from SK8 and don't know anything about TWEWY are low-key confused and concerned for Shiki's wellbeing based on the references I threw in.
Don't worry, she's just traumatized! Not as much as Neku, though. As for Neku, he's totally fine. Alive? Debatable. Mentally stable? Also debatable. He's kinda busy glitching out in limbo and fighting Hype-chan.
Tell me what you think (especially if you're only familiar with one side of this very self-indulgent crossover).
