Hey guys!

I'm starting a new multichapter AU, it's a little unusual since it's a hockey AU but it's called an AU for a reason!
The first chapter is a little shorter since I wanted to see if anyone likes this idea before writing more. I hope you'll give this little story a chance.

Enjoy! :)

It was a normal day, well, as normal as it could be for Senior Agent Patrick Jane.

He woke up with a start, he was never a deep sleeper, he laid awake most of the night and then fell asleep a few hours before his alarm. He woke up his daughter, made her breakfast and dropped her off at school.

Jane then arrived at the CBI and started his workday. It was a slow morning and it stayed like that the entire day, that's why he did something he never did before, he went to pick up his little girl from her practice. He usually didn't do that, being a senior agent comes with rules and responsibilities so he has to stay late and finish paperwork. Also, with the loss of his wife, it was difficult. That's why his friends and colleagues usually picked up his daughter. They weren't a basic department, he as a boss was very close with his colleagues, they were partners, friends, a family. That's why they volunteered to pick up his kid from practice twice a week, they always switched, sometimes all of them went together, picking her up and having lunch together before dropping her off at the office or sometimes even home.

Today was different, he had time, he was bored and he was the boss, that's why he decided to give his employees the rest of the day off and decided to surprise his little girl and pick her up himself for the first time. The problem was, he had no idea how. He knew of course, where was the stadium and how to get there, but he didn't know anything else.

That's why he found himself lost at the stadium, not knowing whether to go left or right. That's how he was suddenly standing in the lockers room, desperately wishing that his daughter was there by some miracle. Luck wasn't on his side that moment because there was suddenly a noise coming from the bathroom behind the lockers followed by a very angry noise.

"Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing here?!" The voice called.

Jane spun around and came face to face with a very petite but a very angry looking woman. She was already dressed (thank God) but she was still flushed from the warm shower and had a towel around her hair.

Damn, her eyes are pretty. Jane thought as he gave her a quick once-over. Her eyes were big, and green like emeralds but right now they were small and judging as she was looking at him with a death glare.

"I'm so sorry! I just came to pick up my daughter an-"

"Pick up your daughter? What are you doing in the lockers room and not in the stadium then? Wanted to see the kids getting dressed?!"

"What?! No! I'm just here for the first time and I don't know the way I swear!"

"You better be telling the truth! And the stadium is down the hall and on the right."

"Down the hall and to the right, got it. Thank you, and I'm sorry again!" Jane said and hurried out of the room.

"Next time you decide to pick up your kid, maybe try to ask your wife for directions!" The angry voice of the woman followed him outside but he decided to ignore it, wanting to get away from her as quickly as possible.

He finally found the stadium and made his way down to the ice where he saw the kids.

He was debating whether it was a good idea to pick up his daughter himself but when he saw the big smile on his girl's face as she noticed him, he decided that it was worth it.

"Daddy! What are you doing here?!" She called as she ran to his arms.

"Hi baby! I had some time so I decided I'd come pick you up today. I hope it's okay?"

"Yes daddy! I'm happy that you came! Can we get ice cream on the way home? Please, pleaseeeee!"

He had to chuckle at her adorable expression. "Of course we can honey! Are you ready to go?"

"Yes! I just have to say goodbye to Miss Lisbon and we can go!" Charlotte said as she turned around and went to what he assumed was her coach. But when the woman turned around his jaw almost hit the floor. His daughter's coach was the little spitfire with the pretty eyes he met just minutes ago!

Miss Lisbon was surprised too when Charlotte pointed at him because she had the same expression as he did but for a different reason.

"Oh my God, that man in the lockers room was Charlotte's father? And did I really tell him to ask his wife next time? God I'm such an idiot!" Lisbon mentally facepalmed and wanted to hide, she of course knew the family situation and that his colleagues picked Charlotte up because he was very busy and wanted the best for his girl.

She was busy mentally punching herself so she didn't realize that Charlotte was holding her hand and dragging her towards the father, probably wanting her to meet him.

Jane noticed them of course and the adults locked eyes and thought the same thing.

Uh oh
