Sequel to Loss of two princes

"so, prince Loki is back". Fandarl said. He and his comrades gathered in the training yard where they will always spend time with Thor. The silence roamed between them. "Are we seriously not going to discuss that? One of us has to go and give him a visit".

"after what we have done? Do you think he would want to meet us? Plus, the queen and lady Eir forbid visiting until his hale again". Sif answered. The silence roamed again, then she said. "How long has it been now? Nearly two weeks since he arrived? Are his injuries that bad?".

"who knows, no one was allowed inside except the royal family and some high rank Einherjar".

"Einherjar? What benefits will they have there?".

Fandarl shrugged his shoulders up. "I'm as curious as you. Though i had managed to get some information from the maids regarding Thor". The eyes of his friends all focused on him. "something as Loki once got out of the healing chambers calling Thor's name desperately in the hallways. They had to drug him and drag him again to his bed as he fought them. screaming that he had to go back".

"Thor is……alive?".

"Let's hope so. We are going to have to ask Loki about that". He sighed. "so, who will pay him a visit?".

Three days after Loki's arrival.

In the early morning, lady Eir attended Loki's room to check on his health. Soon later Frigga joined her. "How is he?". She asked.

"doing well, though his wounds are healing slowly, which is a wired phenomenon. Usually his magic would heal it immediately, I shall see what's wrong with it". She got closer, putting her hands on his chest to check on his source of magic. It was faint and weak, barely there. alongside with it, she felt another foreign force that did not belong to Loki. "there is some sort of barrier, I'm going to break it". Chanting a dispel spell, Loki's eyes flung open and he jumped from his bed attacking lady Eir, strangling her neck. His eyes were blue and he was smiling while his grib kept tightening. Frigga moved in haste and blasted him off with her magic. Loki flew away a couple of feet back, got hit in the tools and they fell off making a huge sound. Upon hearing the fuss, the guards entered the chamber with their spears and swords pointed to the culprit. Or that what they thought they would find, except there was a frightened queen and Loki on the ground. "my queen, what happened?". Lady Eir stood up stroking her throat and coughing.

"Loki''. Frigga said softly and scared of what she had done to her son. Loki growled and stood up, his wounds got opened from the impact and he was bleeding. Yet that didn't stop him from attacking again. He summoned his daggers and this time his target was Frigga. The guards immediately defended the queen, yet they were no match for him and they got kicked out of the way by Loki. Frigga summoned her daggers too and blocked his attack. "Loki! Please darling, I know that's not you". Loki didn't seem to hear her at all, he hissed at her and attacked her rapidly. She blocked every single attack, when the guards stood up again and this time held their grip on him. One guard strangled him from behind and two held his arms preventing him from moving. Lady Eir shouted at them to keep their grip on him while she went to grab a drug. Having it between her hands, the guards pinned down Loki on the floor. He was struggling violently and had one of his daggers on the guard's shoulder. Lady Eir came in haste and managed to inject him with the drug before he broke free. Loki fell limply on the floor, drifting to sleep fast. "my queen! This is an attempt of assassination on you! A commit of treason! I shall inform the king!". The guard said.

"NO!". Frigga shouted at him. "it is not an assassination attempt!". She went to Loki and flipped him on his back. She opened his eyes with her fingers and said. "Just as I suspected, someone is controlling him".

"well. I assume this explains why his magic is restricted". Eir stood up while casting healing spell on her throat. "there was a barrier that i couldn't breach to reach his core". Then she went to the injured guard. "allow me". She took him and drew the dagger out and started healing his wound.

"you two, come and carry him to the bed". Frigga ordered the guards and they moved on command. Carrying him on their shoulders and putting him carefully on his bed. "You shall swear secrecy on this incident today. Loki is being controlled by, his attempt was not meant to be. I shall get Odin, we must solve this now". She turned to Lady Eir and apologized for the inconvenience, asked her to take care of Loki's injuries, then went urgently to Odin.

Interfering the council meeting, she opened the door widely. "My king, I beg your pardon for disturbing, but I must ask you to come with me now, it is an urgent matter". Upon seeing the queen with blood dripping on her cheek from a small cut that she didn't feel. it was there from the previous battle. Odin stood up frightened, he dismissed the meeting and passed the charge to his right hand man. Then he went with Frigga to the healing chambers.

"come and see". Frigga led him to the sleeping figure explaining. "When Loki first arrived I sensed some foreign force from him. I suspected he might be controlled by seeing his eyes, and it seems my assumption was right". She opened Loki's eyes with her fingers. "Do you recognize the spell?".

"I assume this is why your cheek is bleeding". He reached his hand and wiped the blood with his thumb. "Did he attack you?". Frigga touched her cheek sensing the cut, then she went to whip the blood off. Meanwhile, Odin took a closer inspection on Loki's eyes and then tried to reach his core magic, which resisted Odin hardly. "You are right, the force is too strong. A high level of magic has rotted itself in Loki's magic core and mind. We shall perform a cleansing ritual. For now, cuff him just in case he tries to attack again".

"cleansing ritual? Darling isn't that dangerous?". Frigga said concerned.

"I'm afraid it must. We shall start today. You three". He pointed at the guards and said. "Since you have witnessed the situation, I expect you to understand. I don't want anything that happened here today to reach outside. This is your prince, and he is in critical condition, the last thing we want is to spread fear of him being controlled by. And of course, you shall not spread any word of the cleansing ritual. Understood?".

"Yes, my king. As you wish. And we apologize for our behavior". They bowed their heads in understanding.

Odin went out of the room heading to prepare for the ritual. Frigga followed him asking. "dear, is there really no other way?".

"he is under the effect of the mind stone".

"what! How!. Are you sure it's the mind stone? Was it not sealed away long ago?".

"Yes, I can never forget a power like that. And yes, it was sealed away, and apparently someone found it". He stopped walking and tightened his fist on gungnir. "I'll assume Thor is with the lunatic with the stone".

"Odin, please, endure your rage. We will find Thor, he will return to us just like Loki had. Currently, let us focus on freeing Loki from the lunatic clutches". She also was enraged from knowing the new information. But she held it deep inside, for now she must remain strong for her fallen sons.
