Chapter 1:

It's been a few days since Wall Maria has been recaptured thanks to the help of Eren's titan and newly recruited scouts. So commander Pixis, high ranking official of the Trost districts, granted everyone one night of partying in celebration of retaking back Wall Maria and in honor of the fallen cadets. From the Survey corps to the Military brigade, everyone was having a blast and while some of them decided to get drunk as if their life depended on it. Sasha feasted on all kinds of food while Jean and Connie we're trying to hold her back from devouring everything. Armin and Mikasa watched in awe as Eren boasted about his new titan powers to everyone who cheered him on. Typical Reiner was busy staring and fantasizing about Krista while possessive Ymir attempts to waiver his gaze off of her and anyone who tries to flirt with Krista. Of course, Annie being Annie, she just sits down on one of the benches and gives off a cold tired glare.

As the scout regiment is up all-night partying, Levi and his squad are below the noisy ballroom just sitting in silence as they all seem to be in deep thought. Levi finally stands up and walks over to Hange with his hands on his hips and leans towards her with little space in between them. Sure Levi might be a bit short for his gender, but his intimidating personality makes up for the lack of height. He immediately stares deep into Hange's eyes with his eyebrows furrowed.

"So, which one of you filthy brats brought their guard down and let Eren go nuts?"

As soon as he said that he looked at the others with pure anger on his face. When no one replied, he slammed the table and yelled "ANSWER ME YOU FOOLS!". The whole squad was so scared you could see the fear and disappointment in their eyes, but nevertheless, no one spoke. After a moment of silence, Hange spoke up.

"Captain…we understand your frustration, but the situation was spiraling out of control. His help was very much needed."

"Tch…pathetic" as Levi said that, he walked out the room and slammed the door shut while everyone flinched.

It was understood that Levi was still very much upset from Eren costing Petra's life and his whole squad. If he hadn't transformed into his titan and followed the plan they could've successfully captured the female titan.

Hange looked down in disappointment as she knew she was responsible for Eren's titan wellbeing. Even though his decisions was not under her control she felt has if she failed Levi greatly. Levi wasn't one to tell people secrets but deep down he had feelings for Petra. Every time he looked at her, his heart would start to race and immediately feel flushed. However, he knew that confessing to her was a long shot and it was better off to keep his feelings to himself. Knowing this, Hange felt her heart get heavy. Seeing Levi lighten up for once and love someone made her feel proud of him. But with that only light in his life now gone, he was back to square one and in a worse mood.

Hange later walked to Levi's room where he was cleaning his blades as always.

-Hange's pov-

As I opened the door to Levi's room, I noticed him cleaning his blades and sharpening. Does he have some sort of attachment to them? I curiously wondered as I stared at him with one eyebrow raised. Ofc he's a clean freak so I don't know why I should expect any less but its kind of excessive.

Levi turned to look at me with a what-do-you-want face and I just took long strides with my hands on my hips to walk up to him, me being the silly weirdo I am.

"Heyo cap'n Levi! I see your cleaning your blades as usual" I said with a bright wide smile on my face.

With a sigh he says "yea, and?" and continues to sharpen each of his blades while giving absolutely no eye contact or attention to me. I have no clue why I expect him to give any special attention to me even though I was the one to train him under me, but I guess that's life. However i did decide to apologize about earlier and just take one for the team as any commander would.

"Soooo, about earlier Levi" Levi turned to give me a disgusted face and went back to his blades.

"I know that Eren's transformations were not of due time and id like to be called responsible for them since I am in charge of all the experiments and research. Please accept my apology" and with that I bowed to him and walked back towards the door.

"Oi glasses, why do you have to apologize for Eren? He's the titan not you" He places his blades back into his ODM gear and tells me to leave. I give him a slight smile and walked out the room while closing the door.

-Levi's pov-

As I watched her leave out the room I stared at the door and thought about what she said. Why was she apologizing instead of the others? She knew better than I did that Eren was at fault for our soldiers deaths. I've told Erwin countless times to not loose lives over this maniac who won't even guarantee us victory. But in the end, it doesn't matter because he put too much trust into Eren and convincing him otherwise is hopeless. Nevertheless I have to keep that brat under control and make sure he doesn't go haywire while we're supporting him from behind.

" sighs…what has my life become" as I said out loud to myself. With that, I put my gear away and got settled in bed for the night. I looked up at the ceiling, contemplating my life as a I drifted off to sleep in hopes of a normal day tomorrow.
