Bill leaned over the kitchen sink at the Burrow and watched Ron and Hermione have another row. He couldn't believe his idiot little brother. He had a beautiful witch vying for his attentions and had no clue how to reciprocate. He could see Hermione flailing her arms as she tried to resolve whatever issue they had with an almost purple faced Ron.
Bill shook his head. Ron truly was an idiot with the emotional range of a teaspoon. He had heard Hermione say that to Ginny one day and had agreed with her. His little brother had been babied too much by their mother growing up. Couldn't he see that Hermione was a very special witch? She needed someone who could understand her, talk to her on her level, to appreciate her intelligence, fierceness, compassion and her loyalty.
She could care less about Quidditch, having money or fame, about fitting into their society's "standards". No she cared about furthering her education, about her friends and family, about doing the right thing. Bill shook his head, what she needed was a man, not a boy playing at being grown up. She needed someone who was strong, supportive and would put her first.
Bill wondered if she could ever consider him? He would love to have the attentions of such a beautiful and vivacious young witch. He would enjoy helping her to learn about all she wanted to learn. He wanted to be the one she leaned on when life became hard or frustrating. He wanted to be the one she confided in, the one she shared her ideas with and, he definitely, wanted to be the one she shared her passion with.
Even after fighting in the final battle, fighting her entire school career, losing so many, she was still a wonderfully upbeat person. Of course, she had her bad days, they all did, but Hermione never let it keep her down. She would pull herself out of it and continue on with a warm smile to those she met. He was proud of her ability to rebound from so many years of trauma. He knew plenty of people who would have caved to the darkness and depression if they had gone through only a fraction of what she had.
He had been married once. He had thought Fleur was the one for him and he'd been happy. When he found out she was pregnant, he had been ecstatic. Then, just before the final battle, he had found out the truth. She had lied to him. Their whole marriage had been a farce to her. She had used him to get her family off her back. She had not gotten pregnant; the test she had "performed" had been on one of her friends. He still had no idea how she pulled it off but she had. She had fooled them all but especially him.
Bill had felt heartbroken at first, then pissed off from her deception. Now, now he felt free. He might have felt deeply for his ex-wife at one time but had moved on, funny how being part wolf now had helped there. His wolf hadn't really cared much for Fleur and he had had quite a few bad nights until the wolf finally succumbed to his wishes. If only he had listened. Oh well, what was done, was done. No sense wallowing in self-pity.
When Bill turned his attention back to the couple outside, he was just in time to see Hermione rear back and slap the hell out of Ron. Well! What had the stupid prat done to deserve that? Bill watched as Hermione stormed away towards the lake, sans Ron, who was standing there dumbfounded. Oh man, what had his brother done now Bill wondered. As he turned from the window he caught a glimpse of Ron headed towards the kitchen.
Hermione had been having a really good day. She had slept well again last night and felt refreshed. She had helped Molly with breakfast then helped clear the table. She had been looking forward to the nice day ahead. Well, that was until her and Ron had another argument.
They had been dating since the final battle, about a year now. She had approached him to see if he would mind taking a walk with her to the lake, just have some time to themselves and he had blown her off yet again. She had brought up how little they saw of each other and wanted to know what was so much more important than her and his reply had boiled her blood.
Bloody Quidditch! A Quidditch match was about to come on the wireless and he would rather listen to that then spend time with his girlfriend. She wouldn't mind if he had given her some attention at some point within the last year but he hadn't, not really. Whenever she tried to get him to go out with her or simply just come over to her flat, he would have some excuse or another. It was either he was too tired from training or one of his brothers needed him or him and Harry already made plans or some other bullshite!
She was so tired of it. So when he blew her off this time, all for a Quidditch match, she had lost her temper and the row had ensued. He couldn't understand her frustration and she couldn't get it through his thick skull that she wanted to spend time with him. Then he had said the one thing to finish them…he had gone out with a co-worker. But not just any co-worker, no, it was a female co-worker. Now, don't think Hermione didn't want him to have a friendly drink with someone after training; it was that he went home with her and stayed at her place that caused her to blow her top!
He had taken the bint home and slept with her and hadn't thought it wrong, having a girlfriend and all. Oh no! He couldn't understand why she was so upset. When she pointed out that he had just cheated on her, he had had the nerve to look offended! HIM offended! Hah! She was the one cheated on and upset, she couldn't believe he had done such a thing. When she asked him if she was his girlfriend and he had readily agreed, she couldn't take it anymore and hauled off and slapped him with all she had then stormed off to the lake.
The nerve of him! She just couldn't understand what she had done to cause him to stray and think it was okay. Hadn't she bent over backwards to get him to spend time with her? Hadn't she made it clear her interest in something more? Well, apparently not. Hermione huffed a breath as she plopped to the ground.
Now that she was really thinking over the past year, she came to a realization…she wasn't "broken up" over what he had done. Nope. She was pissed he had the nerve to admit to cheating on her but that was just her pride, which anyone would object to, not her heart speaking. She knew, now, that she and Ron would have split eventually. They were too different. However, that didn't mean she wouldn't give him hell for treating her so poorly.
Well, she supposed it was better now than later. When Hermione stopped to really examine her relationship with Ron, she knew she had hung on because she hadn't wanted to be alone. Ironic that, she thought. She hadn't wanted to be alone but she had been alone this whole time. Well, wasn't that just a kick in the pants? Now, well, she wasn't sure what she would do. Probably go about her life like she has been without the stress of trying to match schedules with the prat.
Hermione breathed in a sigh of relief and leaned back. She turned her head towards the sky and just enjoyed the feeling of being free. Free of the constant fighting, free of the excuses, free of deluding herself. It was an amazing feeling to be free of so much weight she hadn't even realized she had been carrying.
When Ron walked into the kitchen, Bill rounded on him.
"What in the bloody hell did you do to make Hermione so angry?" Bill asked.
"Huh? I don't know. She asked me to walk around the lake with her but I told her that a Quidditch match was coming on the wireless." Ron replied as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Ron, dear little brother, a woman doesn't slap you with all she has unless you screwed up majorly. Now, what…did…you…do to cause her to become so enraged?" Bill asked again, a bit more sternly this time.
"I don't know!" Ron said, throwing his hands up in the air. "She started talking about how we don't spend any time together and something about her wanting to know something about bending over backwards? I don't really know Bill. She just went off on me. All I said was that I had gone with a fellow trainee for a drink last night and that's when she slapped me!" Ron said exasperatedly.
Bill eyed his brother warily then asked. "Who, exactly, did you have drinks with Ron? Were you supposed to meet with Hermione last night?"
"It was Amanda and I don't think I was supposed to meet up with 'Mione." Ron replied, truly trying to remember if they had made plans or not.
Bill narrowed his eyes before asking, "This Amanda, did you shag her after having drinks?"
"Well, yeah. She asked me back to her place and we shagged all night. Why? It's not like I was getting anything from 'Mione." Ron said, seeming to be confused by Bill's line of questions.
"You WHAT?!" Bill shouted at his dumb as dirt brother. "You shagged a co-worker while dating another bird? Bloody Hell Ron! No wonder she slapped you. I feel like slugging you myself for your stupidity!" Bill raged at him, totally understanding what had pissed Hermione off so much. Hell, he knew he would have been as enraged had a bird done that to him! Oh, wait, she had and he had been.
"Ron, you moron! Hermione is your girlfriend, right?" at Ron's hesitant nod Bill asked, "Is she or isn't she?"
"Well, she did say we're over but I know she just needs to cool off some. Then we'll be alright." Was Ron's reply.
Bill pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head. His brother could not possibly be this dense. Wow!
"You honestly think she will take you back after you cheated on her? Wow! I'd love to live in your world little bro. Let me explain something to you…she…broke up…with…you." Bill said slowly, making sure Ron heard him. When Ron nodded his head Bill continued.
"That means she wants nothing more to do with you Ron. Don't be so daft. She won't be taking you back after "she cools off some". Everything won't be "alright". You cheated on her you burk! Hermione's not the type of woman to just let that go. I highly suggest, little brother, that you walk away while you're still whole. If you attempt to get back with her, you just might lose bits you don't want to lose." Bill said, watching as the light of understanding finally lit Ron's eyes.
"I think you're right Bill. If she's going to be so shallow then I really need to walk away." Ron said as he walked out of the kitchen.
Bill shook his head and wondered if that boy had been dropped a few too many times when he was a baby. Maybe the twins had played 'whoops-a-baby' too many times with him? That had to be it; no one was that dense…were they? As Bill thought about this, he shook his head to clear his thoughts. He needed to check on Hermione. Was she heartbroken or just pissed off? It sounded to Bill like there hadn't been much of a relationship to begin with for her to be hurt so maybe she was just angry.
Well, only one way to find out. Where had she gone? That's right; she had headed towards the lake. Maybe he should saunter out there and see if she was alright or not. As he walked to the door, Bill wondered what exactly he would say to her. It was really none of his business but he wanted to know if she had had her heart broken. If she had, then he would bide his time. Give her space to heal and then see if she could possibly be interested in him.
As Bill approached the lake, his steps faltered. There she was, leaned back with her face pointed towards the sky. She looked beautiful, carefree. Maybe her heart was just fine? Maybe she realized what she hadn't had with Ron? Hope bloomed in his chest and his wolf purred with agreement.
Bill approached her quietly, appreciating the picture of beauty before him. As he circled around to stand just behind the tree, he could see a smile upon her face. She was enjoying the moment and he was enjoying the unadulterated view. She was breathtaking to him. Her hair flowing down her back, her long lean and tanned legs on show, her torso and breasts lovingly hugged by her tank, her back slightly arched…she was captivating. As he stood there watching her, Hermione arched her back a bit more and bent her knees in a stretch. Bill's breath caught and the wolf came to the forefront, both enjoying the sexy picture she presented to them.
He couldn't look away. She had no clue what she was doing to him and it made the situation that much more powerful for Bill. Before he knew what he was doing, Bill found himself walking towards her, a predator stealthily approaching its prey.
When Hermione heard the ground crunch, her eyes flew open and she looked around. When her eyes landed on Bill she breathed a sigh of relief. Then she noticed the look he was giving her and her body shivered. She now knew how a deer felt when a wolf was stalking it. The immobile feeling, the anticipation was overwhelming.
When he reached her and knelt down, Hermione leaned towards him, helpless to deny the pull he had on her. She knew he had divorced Fleur when her true feelings had come to light after the final battle but she had no clue he saw her as anything more than Ron's bookworm girlfriend. The look in his eyes, though, told a different story.
No one had ever looked at her so heatedly before. When he leaned his body over hers, Hermione whimpered. She noticed his nostrils flare and heard his intake of breath. Could he scent the arousal he was causing in her? When she saw his eyes dilate more, she had her answer. He could. Hermione was surprised that this caused her arousal to go up a notch or ten. She loved that he was looming over her with blown pupils.
She noticed that their breathing had also increased. It seemed he was as turned on as she was. That was a heady realization. Here was a man, a real man, attracted to her. She decided to test this theory and leaned closer to Bill. When he growled and lowered his head, she started panting. Then his lips captured hers and her mind imploded.
When she felt her body being pressed into the grass Hermione let out a moan and wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him closer. She reveled in the feeling of his body on hers. The feel of him was intoxicating. She had always thought him handsome and sexy but had never thought he would give her a second look. Well, now she knew better; she could feel his desire pressing into her and she let herself melt in his body's embrace.
He felt delicious against her: his weight, the strength and solidness of his body. The rumbled growl from him when she moved her hips, making her core rub along his throbbing erection almost sent her over the edge. She mewled and ground against him harder, trying to find the right spot to stimulate that particular bundle of nerves. When Bill shifted his hips, Hermione let out a low keen, having found the right spot to rub her clit. After a few more rubs her body went taut from her release.
Bill couldn't believe how responsive she was being with him. When he had stalked over and leaned into her space, he had expected anything but this. He hadn't expected her pupils to become so wide he could barely see any brown in the outside ring. She had whimpered when he had leaned his body over hers and caged her in. His senses had become inflamed when her arousal hit his nose. She smelled divine. He knew his own eyes showed his desire and reveled that it affected this alluring witch so much. When she leaned towards him, instead of away, Bill knew he would have her, here and now. He leaned his head down and captured her lips in a fiery kiss and pressed his body into hers to guide her to the ground.
Once he was flush with her curves, Bill's wolf took over. There would be no more rational thought. Fortunately for them, no one else was at the Burrow, so they would have all the privacy they needed. When he felt her surrender to his passion, Bill almost howled his pleasure. This enticing woman was willingly at his mercy. Her hair was fanned out around her and her curves felt heavenly against his hard planes.
He couldn't help the low growl when Hermione pressed her heated core against his pulsing erection. Then to hear her mewl her pleasure was almost his undoing. How could Ron be so blind? It boggled Bill's mind for a split second before Hermione made his brain shut down completely. She was grinding hard against his cock, attempting to pleasure herself. He moved his hips just a touch, wanting to help her and was rewarded when she let out a low keen as her orgasm rushed through her veins.
After giving his gorgeous witch a moment to catch her breath, Bill moved his body over hers, enjoying the sensation. When she wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs tightened around his hips, Bill spelled their clothes away. As he looked down upon this goddess, he felt his cock become harder. She was stunning in all her nude glory. He lowered his head and pulled a nipple into his mouth and nibbled on it, causing Hermione to buck against him.
After a few minutes of this sweet torture, Hermione lowered her hips while Bill raised his. When his erection lined up with her opening, Bill thrust hard, burying himself in one fluid motion. They both moaned their pleasure of being connected. After a few moments to enjoy the new sensations, Bill started thrusting forcefully into Hermione as she keened her pleasure.
When she started rising up to meet his every thrust, Bill sped up. No matter how much he wanted this coupling to last, he knew he wouldn't. It had been too long and she felt too good. When he felt her walls start to tighten around his shaft, he increased the power of his thrusting. Hearing Hermione moan her release with his name, Bill couldn't hold on any longer and came with a long and low growl.
Lowering himself onto her for a moment, until he could catch his breath, Bill knew he and his wolf would never let this passionate, kind, loyal, sexy witch go. He would give her time if she needed it but sincerely hoped she wouldn't. He wanted her to be his now. When Hermione's breathing smoothed out, Bill slid to the side of her and pulled her to him. As she laid her head on his shoulder, he heard her let out a low moan and drape a leg over his. He cast a cleaning charm and transfigured a blanket out of his shirt to cover them.
They would need to dress soon and talk things through but for right now, he was happy to just hold her and relax.
