Today was a normal Sunday in the bakery. Marinette woke up and immediately went to her phone. She texted Alya ' Are we still on for the park tonight' She got up and dressed for the day in her traditional clothing. Fifteen minutes later Alya responded 'Sorry Mari i forgot i'm going out with Nino today. :( maybe we can meet up later?' With a little disappointment she responded with 'sure. have fun!' This wasn't the first time she's had to cancel plans with Alya because of her dates with Nino. She wasn't mad at anyone though, more feeling left out. It wasn't there fault she was too nervous to tell Adrien her feelings when she had the chance. Almost everyone she knew had a significant other, except her. She's been trying to forget Adrien since he's been with Kagami for some time now. Luka has been busy with launching his music career and she didn't want to distract him from his dream, although they haven't officially broke up yet.
Neither the less she still had jobs to do despite her miserable love life, she still has work to do in the bakery, school work, and not to mention being Ladybug. She and Cat Noir have been pursing Hawkmoth for 2 years now and still haven't gotten any clue on who and where Hawkmoth is. At times she finds herself wondering why it is taking so long? Is it because the amount of akuma attacks? Is it because of Cat Noirs antics? Or is it because she is a failure as Ladybug? Tiki just tells her to be patient or to wait for the right time but her words don't make much of a difference. She loses sleep thinking critiquing herself of all of her choices on the battlefield. She snapped out of thought when her mom called her "Marinette me and your father are going out for our anniversary trip we will be back tomorrow at eight. You're in charge while we are gone." She responded with her normal "Yeah ok see ya later. Have fun!" They left. Another couple leaving her and another time she has to pretend to be happy with her classic 'have fun'. Truth be told she hasn't felt happy in a while as marinette.
But as Ladybug she felt a little happiness but only when Cat Noir is making his not so funny puns. Maybe it was his care free attitude the she admired the made her semi smile. Tiki rose up from her tiny bed that rests in Marinette's desk. "Good morning Marinette" Marinette responded with a half fake smile at the kwami. "My parents will be gone until tomorrow night . You guys are free to roam around the house after i shut the blinds. just don't come in the bakery ok?" Tiki nodded. After a few scares of the kwamis being discovered. Marinette dedicated a whole day to teach the kwamis the rules and signals they needed to follow if they wanted freedom around the house.
They knew the bakery was off limits, but it didn't matter because she would bring them food anyways. A few hours later today had been a slow day at the bakery. So most of the time she was catching up on her school work. This was her last year of high school. She didn't get much done, it was hard to focus like always her mind was thinking up strategies to beat Hawkmoth. Still two hours til closing time, then her phone buzzed. An akuma attack, the victim was a girl named Loyalist. It was Sabrina, so most likely this akumatzation was caused by Chloe. She called for Tiki and closed the bakery early. She had gotten in trouble before for closing the bakery before but she didn't care. Tiki spoke up " Akuma?" Mari nodded " Tiki Spots on!"
