In the village of Orth lived the Pear family, consisting of mother, father and two daughters.
The first, Buttercup, was twenty years old and about to marry the love of her life, Bright Macintosh.
She was a beautiful girl with fair skin, fluffy orange hair and expressive turquoise eyes.
Her younger sister was called Lyza and she was eight years younger. At that time, she had begun to express a strong desire to descend into the Abyss, but her parents were horrified at the very thought of it, and Buttercup was noticeably gloomy.
Lyza was a beautiful girl too, with straight golden hair and amazing sky-colored eyes.
The two sisters were very close, and the younger one had begun to harbor the desire of the Abyss just by listening to the tales that Buttercup told her, tales that featured spotless heroes and creatures of all shapes.
And now Lyza was there, holding the veil of her beloved big sister, happy for her but at the same time frustrated because at twelve she was the right age to become a Cave Raider.
In order not to upset her family, in the years that followed she stayed in Orth and helped her parents in the store they ran, but inside her restlessness grew and grew, without anyone giving it any weight.
She helped her sister when her first child, Big Macintosh, was born a year after her marriage, and when, after another four years, she saw the birth of her second child, Applejack.
At the age of twenty, however, Lyza clashed severely with her parents:
"Heck no, Lyza! That woman has put a lot of nonsense in your head!" shouted Grand Pear, her father.
"It wasn't Ozen who convinced me! I rather went to look for her and leave together!"
At that revelation, her mother, Cinnamon, gave her a hard slap.
The beautiful blonde girl stood looking at her in pain, with her cheek burning and tears in her eyes.
"Stupid! You would go to die! The Curse of the Abyss is already active at a depth of ten meters, do you know it or not? And us? Don't you think how much we would be anxious? Are you so selfish?"
Lyza knew that behind the harsh words of her parents there was a lot of apprehension, but she didn't let go of her mission and although with a sweet melancholy in her heart, she left the village of Orth.
Three years of waiting and hope followed, where whenever a ship docked at the pier there was a rush to make sure that it contained hair as blonde as the Sun.
And one day, that hair was first spotted by Applejack, who was six and held by the hand of Jiruo, the child Lyza had secretly appointed her apprentice just before leaving.
In her arms, the beaming Lyza had a little pink bundle. A little girl. Her daughter.
Ozen followed a short distance away, and Buttercup could have sworn she saw, in her expressionless eyes, something that resembled bitterness.
There was a great party, with Cinnamon and Grand excited to meet their new granddaughter, games and big binges.
That idyll, however, lasted just two years: Lyza missed the Abyss, almost as if it were the great love of her life.
She left with Ozen, immediately after leaving Riko, her child, in the care of her family.
That new pain definitely broke her parents' hearts, who came to consider her dead.
And so, another ten years passed.
