Hey...yeah, it's been forever since I uploaded. Life has been so crazy. But, in the craziness, I have been binge watching Chicago Fire. And like many fans, I'm tired of waiting for the writes to go further with Casey & Brett's story. So, here's to all the those who ship them and want more of their story. I hope you enjoy and please remember to R&R.

Casey laid asleep in his bed, kept warm from the freezing Chicago December weather by the comforter draped over him. He was only finally aroused from his sleep, when the sun began peaking through his window blinds. And shining into his eyes.

Casey rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and then rolled over to see Brett still peacefully asleep on the other side of the bed. He smiled, as he watched her sleep. She looked like an angel and he wished he didn't have to wake her for work.

Even though they had been dating for nearly a year now. Casey still could not believe he was at last finally together with the love of his life. Who knew a simple Christmas party would of been the thing that finally brought them together.

Flashback...

Casey rode to the fire house with Kelly & Stella for the annual Fire House 51 Christmas party, gift in hand for the white elephant gift exchanged. The three pulled into the parking lot and made their way inside. Where a big Christmas tree sat in the middle of the lounge area, Christmas music was blasting, "It's A Wonderful Life" was playing on the TV, and everyone was either lounged on the sofa enjoying the movie or just engaging in small talk.

After about two hours of food, drinks, and the white elephant gift exchange. Which Matt ended up receiving a Hello Kitty alarm clock courtesy of Herrmann.

Casey wondered out of the lounge area and into the halls, as he walked down the hall reading a text from his sister, he didn't see Brett coming down from the other end of the hall, also distracted by her phone. It wasn't until the two bumped into each other.

"Oh Matt, I'm sorry I didn't see you. I was just reading a text from my dad." Brett said.

"Oh no, it's fine, my sister had texted me, seeing what I was doing for Christmas. Are you going home for the holidays?" Casey asked.

"No, not this year with everything going on with Covid. It's just not safe to possibly bring things home to my parents." Brett replied.

"I understand, if you want, you can come spend Christmas with us. I would have to ask my sister. But, I'm sure she wouldn't mind." Casey replied.

"Oh no, you don't have to do that. I'm sure spending Christmas in front the TV with "A Christmas Story" and "Home Alone" will be fine." Brett replied.

"Brett, you shouldn't be spending the holiday alone, especially after this crappy year. Please, I insist that you come." Casey replied.

"Oh Matt, you're so sweet!" Brett replied, as she wrapped Casey in a hug.

Brett quickly pulled away, her cheek's flushed red. "I-I'm s-sorry, I-I just thought I was gonna be alone with Christmas."

Casey chuckled, "It's fine, come on, let's go back to the lounge. See if I can get anyone to take the Hello Kitty clock off my hands."

The two walked back to the lounge and stood in the door way.

Soon however, the room fell silent and all eyes were on Casey & Brett. The two glanced at each other and then Casey glanced at Severide, who smirked, before giving a little nod upwards. Casey looked up and realized that him and Brett were standing under the mistletoe.

"Oh, um, y-you can run if you want." Casey said.

"N-No, I-I don't think we have a choice, I-I mean their all watching, right?" Brett asked.

"Right, I mean a little peck won't hurt." Casey replied.

Casey leaned over and gave Brett a quick peck on the cheek, but that did not seem to satisfy everyone in the room, as they all began to boo and then chant kiss loudly.

"M-Might a-as well give them what they want." Brett whispered.

"I-I don't w-w-want to make you do anything your not comfortable with." Casey replied.

"Matt Casey, will you just shut up and kiss me?!" Brett snapped.

Before Casey could actually react, Brett grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him in for a real kiss. One that made the whole room cheer, and soon the two had their arms around each other and didn't even notice the other people in the room.

End of Flashback...

Casey chuckled to himself, he thought Brett was gonna be uncomfortable with the whole thing. But, there he was being an idiot and not picking up on her hints.

Casey leaned over and kissed Brett on the forehead, nose, and lips, causing her to stir in her sleep, she finally opened her eye's and looked up at Casey.

"Good morning." Casey said.

"Good morning." Brett replied, giving Casey another kiss on the lips.

The two laid back down next to each other, holding hands and just taking in the few precious moments they got to have before they had to head off to a crazy day of work.

"I think we have to get up for work." Brett finally said.

"Sadly, I think you are right." Casey replied, as he sat up.

Brett sat up and rubbed her stomach.

"Is you're stomach still bothering you? We probably shouldn't eat at that Thai place again." Casey said.

"Oh, I'm sure it's nothing, probably just some bug, I'll be fine." Brett replied, as she got up to get dressed.

The two got dressed and then made their way out into the kitchen to make coffee and get ready for the day ahead. Since they had started dating, they had decided to find a place of their own. So Severide and Stella could have their own place. And they now could have a place to themselves as well.

"Want some coffee before we go?" Casey asked.

"No, not really in the mood for anything right now." Brett replied.

The two made it to the door and got dressed in their winter gear, before grabbing the key's to Matt's truck.

"Well, if you're stomach is still bothering you tonight. Then maybe we can hold off on things until tomorrow or until your feeling better." Matt said.

Brett smiled, "Don't worry, I'm never not in the mood for you."

Casey smiled and kissed Brett, then the two headed out for a busy day at the fire house.
