Chapter 1: Warm & Soft & Gentle.

She thought his lips would be warm and soft which was a strange contradiction.

First of all the words warm and soft should be used to describe a woman's lips, even a woman like hers, Ai Hayasaka thought. But she couldn't help but think of those words as she watched him speak in the student council room.

Warm and soft, how could she think of him like that, she wondered as she pretended to read a file. He was a rotten dead fish eyed loner, cynical and bitter in the face of womanly nature, a compromising figure of jagged lines and razor sharp edges, able to cut, wound and bruise with his infamous forked tongue. He slithered like a snake when he walked, silent footfalls stalking the hallways, plotting and scheming, thinking of ways to manipulate and control every event, every incident to his own liking, caring nothing for others, leaving chaos and pandemonium in his wake. And his worse offense was the way he looked at her, capturing her blue eyes with his grey orbs, unblinking, plundering through the windows to her soul. She tried wearing a low cut dress, wearing clothes which bared a ton of cleavage, but it didn't work. He still looked at her eyes when they talked.

The clothes he wore were nothing special, plain looking half sleeved tee-shirts in solid colours, jeans denims and black and white sneakers. On his wrist appeared the only expensive item he owned, a watch made of stainless steel with a leather strap, water proof, shock resistant. The watch would go well with a black, charcoal coloured suit and matching dress pants. She wondered whether he owned a tuxedo. Knowing him, he would probably call them monkey suits. She couldn't also see him taking care of high end suits which were dry wash only.

He was not a part of her world. She wasn't sure she was a part of this world either. She was the personal valet of Kaguya Shinomiya, her mistress, juggling multiple masks and personalities, doing everything she was told, without question.

He would hate her and those lips of his which she was fascinated with would kiss her out of plain pity, miserable, wet, but soft and warm, nonetheless. She closed her eyes and absentmindedly licked her lips, cradling her right cheek in the palm of her hand, lost in deep thought. But to the outside world she appeared, bored, out of it, uninterested in the discussion that was currently taking place in the student council room.

"Would you like anything to add, Hayasaka-san?"

He was not annoyed with her, but there was a light sarcastic edge to the tone of his voice and it brought her out of her present day-dreaming session. She was not with him, tucked away in some distance corner of the world, hiding amidst the shadows, visible only beneath the pale glow of the moonlight, kissing.

No, reality gave her a rude wakeup call and she opened her eyes to find everyone in the room staring at her. Those female club mates of his were looking at her with fresh hostility in their eyes and she hadn't even done anything. Well, better give them something to be legitimately angry about.

"Sorry, sorry!" Ai Hayasaka adopted her man-eater, gyaru persona, twiddling a lose strand of blonde her with her index finger, acting all cute and flirty. "I was thinking about the time Hikigaya and I made out like crazy."

The room fell quiet, before breaking out into fissures of chaos. Someone inhaled loudly, someone else spit out the water they had been drinking. Both of them were women he was close with, women with whom he spent his free time, locked in a clubroom. Ai Hayasaka tried not to entertain notions of jealousy.

Kaguya-sama looked at her and shook her head. Her note of disapproval was duly noted but for once she didn't care. She was more interested in what his reaction would be to her obvious fabricated story, which put them in a rather compromising position and set him at odds with his club mates.

"I was thinking about it too, Hayasaka-chan." He called her chan deliberately because he knew it would make her blush and it did. God, how she hated him. God, how she loved him. "But that's no excuse to not pay attention to what I was saying."

"What are you saying!?" Bless her innocent soul, Kaguya-sama was alarmed. "Y-You and Hayasaka -"

Hachiman Hikigaya let out a small laugh. "Yes, we had sex in Narnia."

"What!"

Ai Hayasaka tried to restore order back to the room. She should have known better than to mess with him, but she never did learn her lesson. Working with the crazy, false, fictional narrative that was being made up on the spot, she said. "I-I only said we kissed." Damn her, she stuttered and her cheeks burned red.

There was no way he would discount her minor fumble and he didn't. He could be ruthless when the situation, warranted.

"We kissed in the closet." He said with a smile. "Really, Hayasaka, don't you remember our little tryst."

Tryst, who used old fashioned words like that, she thought. Him, apparently.

"Hikki, what are you saying!"

It seems the matter had gone out of hand. He softened, lowered his head and spoke softly. Not for the first time, Ai Hayasaka couldn't help but feel something close to envy towards the woman named, Yui Yuigahama.

"We were just fooling around, Yuigahama."

"What!"

"Shit!" Him and his poor phrasing at dire situations which almost always creates more misunderstandings. This, Hayasaka thought would never get old. She smiled, amused and watched him make his way out of the hole he had mistakenly dug for himself. It was entertaining every time. "I mean, we were just joking."

That's her cue. "Exactly!" Hayasaka added.

But now throughout the rest of the meeting she had even more trouble focusing because now she was stuck imagining, fantasizing, what it would be like, what would she feel, and most importantly what would they experience if they ever did end up really having sex with each other.

Like before she thought his lips would be gentle, his hands would be warm and though he might be assertive in bed, taking charge of the situation and leaving his marks on her for the world to see, come next morning, he would treat her like a goddess incarnate, who had graced this earth with the sole purpose of making his life complete and whole, save him from himself, the broken, messed up man he was doomed to be otherwise without her in his black and white life.

Ai Hayasaka sighed.

She wouldn't mind that.
