Chapter 1: Back Again
Harry and Draco stand at the front gates of Hogwarts Castle. The trees of the Forbidden Forest swaying ominously behind them and the rusted iron gates creaking in the breeze. Almost simultaneously, shivers ran down the spines of both men as each remembered what had happened the last time they had been there.
The devastation was still apparent, even after a year, the castle's walls had been fixed, the new stone contrasting with the thousand year old masonry that the castle had originally been made of. The grounds were still pockmarked and in some places where dark curses struck the ground the grass no longer grew. The atmosphere was dreary and oppressive only combated by the hope both men felt.
"Done reminiscing Potter?", came the drawling voice of his childhood enemy turned friend.
"Yeah mate, but don't tell me you don't remember everything from that night"
"That's what we're trying to fix"
"8 years, yeah"
"Yeah 8 years"
Harry walks over to stand next to Draco. A time-turner appears from a fold in Draco's robes and he winds the chain around both of their necks before turning the miniature hourglass 8 times. The small pendant containing the hourglass spins over and over, faster and faster until both men disappear in a swirling rainbow vortex of light.
A/N: Sorry for the short first chapter, I wanted a good intro to the story and I thought this was a good ending. School's almost over, so I'm gonna be kinda busy but you can expect more frequent and consistent updates during summer break.
