7:45 pm on a Friday night and I'm sitting at a bar by myself. The past year and a half as been okay. I mean my wife, Linda, who I thought died from a trageic accident, was actually mudered by a nortorious cartel leader. My brother got married to his partner, Eddie. So they're now living together and thinking about getting a dog to acclimate to taking care of another living thing. Even my sister, Erin, is getting back into the saddle with her on again off again, ex-husband, Jack Boyle. By no means am I unhappy, I just feel that if Linda were still here she would be telling to stop mopping around and get back out in the world and find someone that makes me happy. Something that I don't think will be possible, since she was my high school sweetheart and the mother to our sons. Now that my oldest son, Jack is 17 and close to finishing school, its becoming hard to accept that his applying to schools. While his younger brother Sean is only 14 and not really into the whole the school thing, he's still a good kid and hasn't gotten in trouble since that time when he skipped to school. I'm jarred from my thoughts, hearing the bell on the bar door, indicating that someone has just entered. Looking towards the door Danny sees a tall, curvaceous and beautiful brunette.

Walking into the bar, all Olivia Benson wanted was to have a few drinks and forget about the crappy day. The bar was moderately full, but there were a few seats open at the bar so she decided to sit there. Liv walks up to the bar where she sits next to a man who doesn't seem to notice her, but he obviously does. Danny, realizing that the beautiful brunette was walking towards where he was sitting, he quickly shifted his gaze away and tried to show very little interest. Hoping, he turned his head fast enough so that she didn't notice him staring. Once Benson was seated at the bar, she waves down the bartender to order her drink. "Scotch on the rocks, please." The bartender nods his head and then walks to Danny and asks, "And you sir? Do want a refill?" Danny looks up at the bartender when he sees that his glass was empty. "Uh I'll have what she's having." Danny nudges his head towards the woman who glances at him and gives a combination of a smirk and a smile. "So you come here often?" Danny asks and can see a slight smile on her face. "So you're going with the corny pick up line?" Liv says with a hint of sarcasm and humor in her voice. Danny laughs and replies, "Well since you put it that way, how 'bout I just ask what your name is?" "Still corny, but better and its Olivia Benson." She reaches out her hand to shake his. "Danny Reagan." Benson's eyes raise slightly at hearing the last name. Danny sees her eyes raised and knows exactly what's coming. "Reagan as in Commissioner Reagan?" He smirks and replies. "Yeah that's my dad. Anyway what do you do for a living?" Liv hears the obvious change of subject and decides to go along with it. Benson looks up at Danny and contemplates telling him about her job title. In the past, Liv has had more bad experiences with men finding what she does for a living than good. Deciding that Danny doesn't seem like a threat, she divulges the information. "I'm an NYPD Captain for the Manhattan Special Victims Unit." Danny's eyes shoot up when hearing her rank and title as well from the type of job she works. "Wow. Special victims? That must be difficult." Olivia smiles lightly, but never reached her eyes. Yeah it can be, but someone has to do it. You know?" Danny smirks and replies, "Yeah I know what you mean." "So now that you know what I do for living, what do you do?" Reagan chuckles and smirks. "Well like you I work for the NYPD in Manhattan's Major Case Unit as Detective First Grade." Neither of them notice how much time has gone by with just talking and getting to one another. This concept of just talking was something neither of the police officers were used to. "You know we've been talking for an hour and a half?" Danny comments to Liv when he sees the clock at the top of the bar. Realizing the time Benson gasps and he looks at her with concern. "I have to go." Danny asks, "Why? Is something wrong?" Liv looks up at him while putting omen her coat, "I, I'm sorry I just have to go." Danny jumps just as she's about to walk away, "Wait! Can I have your number, it was nice talking to someone who knows how the job is?" Benson looks at him, shaking her head with a yes and hands him her card before rushing out of the bar. For the first time, in a long time, Danny Reagan is intrigued by a women since his wife's passing. Reagan looks down at the card with her name and smiles at the realization that he had a great time with this beautiful women who knew the job. A job that brings pain and justice. He is brought out of his thoughts when he is pushed by another bar patron. Danny takes out his wallet to pay for the drinks when the bartender tells him that the woman had already covered for their drinks. Shocked by the bold move, walks out of the bar and hails a cab home.

By the time he gets home it's already almost 10 pm since he does live in Staten Island. After finishing some paperwork in his bed, he takes out the card and stares at it for a few moments. Knowing that he has work tomorrow he sets the card on the night table and goes to sleep.

On the other side of town is a similar situation with Olivia. Once she finished putting Noah to bed, she checked her phone to see if she had any new calls or texts. Liv knows she doesn't have to worry about him hurting her sons, but it's to soon. Noticing that she was wanting a call for this detective, chuckles to herself and lays down in her bed to go to sleep.

The next morning, Olivia Benson wakes up to something jumping on her bed. Opening up her eyes she sees her son on top of her with a goofy smile. "Well hello my son. Did you decide to wake up mommy?" All her son does is give off a big toothy smile. "Hey I have any idea. Why don't you go wake up your brother and I'll make you guys some breakfast, okay?" Noah excitedly nods his and jumps off the bed, running to get his brother. From her room, Liv can hear Calvin and Noah laughing from the living room. After getting dressed for work, Benson walks out of her room to see her boys watching TV. "Hey Cal." Calvin looks up at her from the couch. "Hey mom." Liv smiles at him calling her mom, still not used to him say that to her. Although it's been almost three months since adopting Calvin and 2 and a half for Noah the its still foreign hearing him call me mom. It seems like just yesterday that she signed the papers to adopt them. Liv is finally living the life she has always wanted. She walks into the living room to find her boys watching TV. Noah and Calvin have big a nice sizable gap between their ages so there's no competition or at least not as of right now. Calvin was only 10 when he came into her life and now he is a 12 year old boy who loves his being a big brother to little 4 year old Noah. Shaking off her thoughts, Olivia speaks up, "So what you boys watching?" "Spongebob!" Noah yells excitedly. Liv smiles and laughs as her younger son jumps off the couch, ruuning to hug her. Picking up Noah while walking to the kitchen with Cal close behind. After eating breakfast, eveyone got dressed and ready for the day. After dropping Noah and Calvin off at school, Liv arrives at the precint at 8:00 am. Walking into the squad room, she is met with her detectives at their desks doing paperwork. Elliot was the first to feel someone else's presence and looked up. "Hey Liv." The other detectives looked up after hearing the greeting. "Morning everyone. Any cases?" Rollins was the next one to speak. "No new cases, but you did receive a delivery to your office." Benson turns to see that there is something on her desk, glancing back at her detectives and gives them a coy smile as if to say, "No snooping". Before walking into her office, she turns to see her detectives with mischievous smiles and shakes her head at their childish behavior. 2 hours after arriving at the office, when a victim they had been searching for was found unconscious in an alley. She was sent to the hospital where she had to have surgery for a dislocated shoulder and a broken leg. Liv sent Elliot and Amanda to the hospital and sent Fin and Carisi to the crime scene to question any witnesses and get surveillance around the area. It was close to 2:00 when they were able to get somewhere with the canvas and found out that the victim had recently broken up with her ex boyfriend after she caught him cheating. He didn't appreciate her breaking up with him so he chose to use her body as a punching bag. After arresting the ex and doing a line-up which confirmed that he was the guy. Stabler and Tutuola booked him at Rikers. Liv let the detectives leave early after their good work at catching the guy, she chose to stay late since Noah was at a sleepover. It wasn't that late when Olivia got a text from an unknown number.
