The scene opened to Chris lying in a large king sized bed all by himself. It had been a few years since the ending of Pakhitew Island, and the subsequent cancelation. Chris claimed to never understand why they took the show of the air, but he knew full well it had to do with the lawsuits from more than a quarter of all the contestants and their families. But he was always quick to blame all of those issues on some force outside of his power, but the network naturally ignored him and went ahead with the cancelation.
Chris slowly tossed and turned in the bed, whimpering a little in his dream. Images of Scarlett, Mal, Feral Zeke, and most of all, going to jail flashed in his mind. In the distance he could hear a soft voice whispering "rise and shine Mr. McLean. Rise and shine."
After the third whisper, Chris jolted awake in a cold sweat. He sighed in relief as he wiped his brow "phew. I was worried I was still hosting that stupid show."
He forced a smile as he looked around his bedroom, he hadn't actually had any role on television since the show was canceled, so he had to make some... compromises on his life style. His current residence wasn't anything to write home about, but it was far from lower class, for a normal person that is. For Chris, it was close to primitive.
"oh... It's a shame to hear you've lost interest in such a fine show."
Chris jumped in surprise, quickly turning away and raising his hands to defend his prize winning face "don't kill me, I'm too pretty to die!"
Chris waited a few seconds, slowly realizing the voice he just heard didn't come from someone who wanted to kill him. He slowly lowered his hands and looked back to see a tall, scrawny, pale man in a black suit standing by his bed. He had very nice, combed black hair and green eyes that pierced Chris's soul "Mr. McLean, how nice of you to awaken and join me for my new business venture."
Chris squinted his eyes and slowly pointed at him "yea... I think I'm good. I don't do business ventures with people who, y'know, break into my home and watch me sleep."
"Please, Mr. McLean, there is truly no reason for such hostilities" he extended a hand towards the former host "You may call me Mr. G if you so please. I just came here for the opportunity to... let's call it reboot your show. New cast, same hosts, but a new destination."
Chris just scoffed at his hand "yea, that's not going to go well, we need a prize money, network, and a casting call. Not too many teens want to experience another Pakhitew if you hadn't noticed from the cancelation."
Mr. G just nods his head slowly, not showing all that much attention as he dropped a suitcase down on the bed "well... my offer stands. Meet us at the location shown in this case and you get to host with your old pal Chef. If not... I'm sure we could find another potential host. Maybe even Blainley would enjoy the job. I'm sure she could enjoy knowing she took your one chance at returning fame"
Chris looked down at the suitcase. Picking it up to throw it at him, but the moment he looked back up the man was gone "freak barely answered any of my pressing issues." He looked down at the suitcase and eventually shrugged "Not my first suspicious package. I'll bite."
Chris set the case back down and opened it, he was half expecting it to just blow up when he saw the inside of it just filled to the brim with piles of cash. His eyes widened in shock as his signature smile grew on his face. He brought up the picture of a towering castle over an eerie village "we're back in business baby!"
