A/N: Alright, this oneshot takes place after the events of "Kyoko's Final Pregnancy." I'll be taking another Gaidenverse posting hiatus to write more content. I'll still be posting some commission chapters in the meantime to keep you occupied. So, please read and review, and enjoy!
The Ultimate Detective and The Ultimate Hope Gaiden: Kyoko's Home Birth!
Mikan and Nagito had become a common sight to Kiki over the weeks. With Kyoko's due date quickly approaching, the nursing duo had even spent Christmas with the Naegis, just in case the expectant parents got an extra present. Luckily, the eight-year-old took it all in stride, though thanks to Kyoko's exhaustion, Makoto had to take over story time completely.
"The End." Makoto finished as he closed the book.
"Thanks for reading to me, Dad. I miss Mom though…" Kiki lamented as she pulled the blankets up to her chin.
"I know, pumpkin. Mom's just really tired from carrying your baby brother or sister. But don't worry, once the baby comes, things can go back to normal."
"Aside from the constant crying waking us up." Kiki giggled before her father messed up her hair.
"Alright, alright, time for you to go to sleep, young lady." Makoto chucked as Kiki yawned. He pressed a kiss to her cheek before he whispered "Good night, Kiki. Happy New Year's Eve. I love you."
"I…love you too, Dad. Happy New Year's Eve."
Kiki's eyes finally closed as she fell asleep, Hogo curled up cutely at her feet. Makoto smiled at the adorable sight, then stood up and walked out of her room. He closed the door behind him as he walked back to his room to tend to his wife.

"Hey, Happy New Year's Eve." Makoto whispered as he crawled onto the bed and kissed Kyoko before he rubbed her belly. "How's the little one?"
Kyoko gave a fatigued smile and yawned "Happy…New Year's Eve…" Kyoko looked down at her womb and assured him "They're fine. I think they settled down. I'm glad we didn't throw any parties this year. I don't think I could have handled it this time."
"Just a little bit longer." Makoto assured her with a loving smile. "Just a little bit longer, and we'll be able to hold this baby in our arms and not in your tummy."
"Kami, I never thought I'd be so eager to not be pregnant anymore." Kyoko giggled before she yawned. "Alright, I'm tired, so let's go to…"
"Kyoko?" Makoto raised his eyebrows in concern as Kyoko grunted and began to clutch her belly before he asked "Kyoko, what's wrong?"
"Makoto…my…my water just broke…"
Makoto gasped in shock as he leapt to his feet and exclaimed "Oh, I'll get Mikan and Nagito from the guest room!"
"And get Mom here so she can watch the kids! I have a feeling that Kiki's not gonna get any sleep tonight either, ah!"
"Alright, on it!"
Makoto grabbed his phone and scrolled through the contacts before he ran to the door and threw it open. As he blazed through the hallway, he tapped his phone and held it to his ear until the ringing ceased.
"Mom, it's Makoto. We need you, Kyoko's in labor!"

Kiki groaned as faint voices rang in her ears.
"Wha…what's going on…?" She mumbled as she drowsily sat up.
"Easy, dear. Take it easy, it's still really early."
"Huh? Is that you, Baa-chan?"
Kiki rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as her vision came into focus and revealed a smiling Hana holding her sleeping baby brother.
"Yes, dear. Your father called and told me that your mother was starting to have the baby, so he asked me to come by and help take care of you and Mokubo until the baby is born."
Now fully awake, Kiki's eyes widened in shock as she suddenly sat erect and exclaimed "Really? Can we go see them?!"
Hana giggled and shook her head before she told a deflated and disappointed Kiki "Not yet, dear. It's still gonna be hours before they're born, so we have to wait until they tell us it's okay."
"It's gonna take that long?!"
Hana nodded and explained "Giving birth takes a long time, Kiki…" Kiki winced at Kyoko's faint screams of pain that echoed through her door as Hana smiled knowingly and finished "And as you can hear, it's not exactly fun for the mother either. So for now, we just have to wait."
Kiki nodded as she laid back down and Hana stroked her hair soothingly with her free hand.
"Baa-chan…Mom's gonna be okay, right?"
"Yes, dear, your mother will be just fine." Hana nodded with a smile as she told her granddaughter "Giving birth can be hard, but with your father and Mikan there to help her, she and the baby will be just fine. I know it'll be hard with all the screaming, but for now, try and rest, dear."
Kiki nodded and closed her eyes as she tried to relax, though the excitement of meeting her new sibling combined with the occasional scream from Kyoko made sleep difficult. She cracked an eye open and stared jealously of her still snoozing baby brother.
This is gonna be a long night…how can you sleep through it, Moku?

Eventually, Kiki did manage to fall asleep, and woke up again. But as Kyoko's dull cries still rang through the house, Hana decided to make them breakfast. And so they sat in the dining room where Kiki ate her scrambled eggs while Hana spoon-fed Mokubo some baby food.
"How do you like your eggs, Kiki?"
"They're delicious! Thanks, Baa-chan!"
Hana smiled and replied "I'm glad to hear that. Now, what do you want to do while we…oh, Mikan!"
As the nurse walked into the dining room with Nagito close behind her, she stammered "Um…the birth was a su…success, and Kyoko's a…awake, so you can go and see her n…now. We're just gonna wa…wash the sheets before we check in again. Come a…along, Na…Nagito."
As they walked to the laundry room, Nagito grinned and told them "Congratulations on the newborn hope in your lives!"
As the former Luckster walked away with the bedsheets in his arms, Kiki's eyes widened at the red stains on the fabric as she asked her grandmother "Baa-chan, is that b…blood?!"
Hana smiled in pity as she nodded before she explained "Giving birth can be a messy affair, Kiki. The hospital staff probably cleaned it all up before we came to see Mokubo after he was born."
"Okay, but Mom's gonna be fine, right?" Kiki asked hopefully.
"Yes, dear, your mother is just fine. Let's go see her and your new sibling, shall we?" Hana suggested as she picked up Mokubo out of his seat.
Kiki nodded as she took Hana's free hand before her grandmother led her through the halls of her home into the bedroom where her parents and new sibling awaited.

"Hey, Kiki." Makoto quietly greeted as his children and mother approached the bed.
"Hi Dad. Mom, are you okay?" Kiki asked out of concern.
Kyoko smiled and nodded as she assured her daughter "I'm fine, sweetie. Sorry if my screaming woke you up."
Kiki shook her head and assured her "It's fine, Mom." Not really, but as long as she's okay.
"That's good." Kyoko nodded tiredly at her daughter then gestured to her and Makoto's arms as she urged "Come and meet your new siblings."
"Wait…siblings…?"
Hana smiled in amusement at Kiki's befuddled expression before she deduced "So, you were carrying more than one this time, right?"
Kyoko nodded and explained "Yes, that's why I was so tired; I was carrying twins."
"Twins?!"
Makoto smiled and confirmed "That's right; you now have a baby brother and a baby sister. Come say hi to them, Kiki. You too Mom, Mokubo. Just make sure not to crowd, okay?"
The two Naegi women nodded as they got up on the edge of the bed. They watched as Makoto and Kyoko carefully turned the infants in their arms to show them to their family. In Kyoko's protective embrace lay a small baby boy with a soft layer of brown hair and the beginnings of an ahoge. The baby boy yawned and opened his eyes, revealing violet irises that were inherited from his mother.
Meanwhile, Makoto revealed a petite baby girl with an equally soft head of lavender hair. As she too opened her eyes, she revealed green orbs as gentle as her father.
"Wow, they look pretty, Mom, Dad."
"They sure do, Kiki." Hana agreed as Mokubo stared curiously at the new arrivals. "That's your new baby brother and sister, Mokubo." She cooed before she asked "Have you two thought up any names for the little ones yet?"
"We were just about to talk about it when you came in." Kyoko explained as she looked down at her newborn son. "Makoto, he looks a lot like that photo of you when you were a baby." Makoto blushed and pouted as Hana and Kiki giggled.
"You're not naming him after me, Kyoko." Makoto shot down as he reasoned "That would make things confusing if we had two Makotos in this family."
"Aww, but he looks just like you…how about a nickname then…like…Koto? That nickname I called you during that sham wedding?" Kyoko suggested in a compromise.
"Koto, Koto…" Makoto mulled it over before he smiled and agreed with a nod "I suppose that'll work. Alight, now for you, young lady…" Makoto looked down at his daughter in his arms as he mused "She looks a lot like those baby pictures we found of you, honey. And since her brother got his name from that one-off nickname of mine, how about…Kiri? Remember, I called you that a couple of times in school?"
"Kiri, Kiri…" Kyoko smiled as she agreed "Yes, Kiri sounds like a good name for her."
"Hmm, Koto and Kiri…it has a nice ring to it." Hana commented with a smile.
"Then it's decided." Kyoko concluded as she stared lovingly at her newborn twins and cooed "Welcome to our family, Koto and Kiri Naegi."
"Welcome, Koto and Kiri." Kiki greeted as she introduced "I'm your big sis Kiki, and this is your big brother Moku."
The whole family smiled, enjoying the moment as the twins just stared at their siblings and grandmother. The tranquility was interrupted however when Mikan and Nagito came back in.
"Okay, it's time for your che…checkup, Kyoko. The rest of you can wa…st…stay as long as you don't di…disturb her."
"You can sit on the carpet on the other side of the room if that helps." Nagito suggested.
Makoto nodded and handed Koto to his wife as she eased her newborns' heads to her breasts. They instantly latched on to her exposed teats and began to suckle their milk as Makoto, Hana, and Kiki got off the bed and walked to the other side of the room. As they sat down next to each other, Kyoko and the twins became largely obscured from view as Mikan and Nagito proceeded with the checkup.
As Kiki felt Makoto pull her into a warm, yet tired embrace, he noted "Looks like we got quite the New Year's present, huh pumpkin?"
Kiki giggled and agreed "Yeah, the best. Happy New Year's, Dad!"
"Happy New Year's, Kiki."
As they quieted down and sat in comfortable silence, Kiki thought Happy New Year's Day Koto, Kiri. I promise to be a good big sister to you, just like I promised I would be to Moku!
