Tohru was studying at the small table in her room late one night. She could hear rain pattering on the window and even some lightening outside and silently wondered if she should check on Kyo. She was intterupted by a sudden knock at her door.

"Tohru? It's me. Can I come in?" She heard Kyo ask from the other side.

"Yeah of course!" She responded. He entered and sat down next her.

"Awefully late to be studying isn't it?" he asked, noting she was already in her pajamas. Tohru nodded.

"Yes but I wanted to do my best for the finals coming up!" She replied with a determined voice. Tohru noticed how sluggish he seemed. "Is it the weather?" She asked gently. He looked away and nodded.

She smiled at him and patted her lap. Kyo blushed lightly and laid his head down it, closing his eyes while Tohru soothingly combed her fingers through his hair. He laid his hands on his stomach and before long Tohru could hear his soft, even breathing. She smiled down at him lovingly and remembered the first time she was able to truly feel him. How he was so gentle and warm in their embrace. They hugged on instinct and love that day, not considering or caring whether he would transform but then to their surprise he didn't. Tohru remembered looking up and seeing tears streaming down his face with a look of so many emotions at once. She saw relief, fear, joy and sadness all at the same time. Was it fate that his curse broke when they were in each others arms? She wasn't sure but she liked to think so. Tohru remembered the feeling of his large hands lacing through her hair and his arms wrapping around her shoulders. How she sobbed with happiness into his chest until the fabric of his shirt became wet with her tears. Both of them holding each other tightly in wonderful disbelief. Tohru remembered how, even though he was the one whos curse just broke, Kyo was queitly making "ssshhhhh" sounds in a comforting voice with his lips against her temple. She remembered how strong his arms felt and how she had never felt more safe in her entire life. That's where she wanted to be for the rest of her life and beyond, in his embrace warm and protected. Now, while looking down at him in a relaxed state of sleep with his head resting on her lap, she was sure that he must feel the same way. Kyo suddenly jumped awake which made her jump too. "What happened? Are you okay?" She asked in surprise. Kyo was breathing heavily.

"Just... A nightmare..." He mumbled after regaining composure.

"Was it a bad one?" She asked in a concerned tone. He lightly tapped her forehead.

"Don't make that face. I'm okay, really." She looked at his hair and saw there was a bit of sweat in it so she assumed he was just trying not to worry her. He gave her a small smile and leaned foreward, meeting his lips with hers. She tensed up with surprise by the sudden act but soon relaxed, resting her hands on his chest. When they sperated he rubbed the back of his head and looked away in embarrassment. "It's, uhhh, getting late and I was wondering if I could sleep in here with you." Kyo looked at Tohru to see her making a confused face. "N-not like that I swear! I just don't want to be alone right now and, well, I find you comforting..." He mumbled the last bit. She stared at him in awe then smiled brightly at him.

"Of course you can! I'm glad I make you feel that way." She said smiled brightly.

"Do you still have studying to do?" He asked. She shook her head and closed the book.

"No I was actually just finishing up." She stood up and got into her bed then pulled the covers back, inviting him over. He laid down next to her and was surprised when she suddenly pulled his head against her chest and put her arms around his neck. Kyo took in her scent. It was so sweet and floral. Something about it made him relax his body against hers. "You don't have to be embarassed you know..." She said, breaking the silence. "If you have a bad nightmare, you can just tell me about it. And wel, umm, you are a comfort to me too, Kyo." She whispered. His eyes widened in awe before he closed them and hesitantly looped his arms around her torso, pulling himself more into her body and snuggling against it.

"Thank you for that, Tohru." He said in a soft voice before he drifted off.
