The entire day Max had felt like something was wrong. Sure he had cancer but it wasn't like that, it was more of an emotional feeling. He left early in the morning when Georgia was still in bed. She was worried about him, she knew about the cancer he had told her at the charity gala. He had had 3 chemo sessions and another the next day.

The morning went smoothly, he had a meeting with the board and then ran around the hospital trying to help as many people as possible in one day. In the afternoon he ate a small lunch in his office alone, had a FaceTime with Georgia and then went to talk to Sharpe. He only had a meeting with the head of departments. But that was easy, they were his friends; Vijay, Floyd, Lauren, Iggy and Helen.

At 3pm they all filed into his office one by one chatting to one another and Max while he read through one of the papers he had to talk about. Sharpe was last in like usual and took a seat next to the door.

"So...the opioid epidemic is causing havoc on the hospital, we need ways to stop it. How can we help?"

Everyone gave off their ideas but Max could hardly hear over the noise of his heart beating. He felt warm and sweaty. He was stood up to start with but had to sit down at fear of collapsing.

"Max are you okay?" Vijay asked.

"I'm fine...fine."

"Max?"

"Excuse me?" He gasped running out of his office.

He ran out of the room shaking but he was too dizzy so collided with the wall and slid down it. He had his head hung low and his knees up to his chest. Sharpe and Floyd ran out of the room and stopped immediately when they saw him. Sharpe knelt down next to him and rubbed his back whilst Floyd went to get Iggy.

"I need you to breathe Max, in and out, in and out." She said rubbing his back gently.

"I can't...can't breathe." He gasped.

"I know...just try, deep breaths."

Iggy ran out of the room, the rest following shortly behind. He knelydown at the other side of him looking at Sharpe with worry embedded in his eyes. After a few minutes, his breathing calmed down and Lauren had gone to call Georgia. Out of nowhere Max stood up and shakingly ran down the corridor. Sharpe and Iggy ran after him.

The atrium was full of people walking in every direction possible, Max froze in the middle, his light blue scrubs trembling with him. Someone grabbed his shoulder. He turned around and it was Georgia.

"Baby your shaking, let's go sit down."

He looked at her and bolted even at his body's rejects. Iggy stood with the terrified Georgia and Sharpe continued to run after him. He managed to get to the quiet corridor next to the atrium and he collapsed onto the floor from the lack of oxygen getting to his lungs.

"Max!" Sharpe shouted running to him.

She quickly got her phone out and called Iggy.

"He's fainted Iggy." She said down the phone trying to wake him up.

"I'll get the others to come, on my way." He said hanging up the phone.

"Max, come on wake up." She said gently slapping his face.

Georgia and Iggy came racing around the corner, Georgia was crying. Iggy checked his pulse straight away and Georgia knelt down and stroked his hair.

"Come on baby." She cried

"Hmmm..." He groaned incoherently.

The rest all came running to him with Dora and Casey also there with hopes of helping. He sat up weakly, leaning against the wall.

"How can we help Max?"

"I'm...fine." He said sucking in a wavering breath.

"Max, you've just had a major panic attack and fainted, your not fine."

"I...I just need...to sleep."

"Please come down to the ED so I can check on your vitals."

"I'm fine." He insisted trying to stand up but failing so he fell back down.

"Baby, if you go get checked out then we can go home."

"I have a...meeting to go to."

"MAX!"

"I've already said your not going." Vijay said.

"I need to." He whispered, trying to get up again but being more successful that time. "Thank you but I have a meeting to go to."

Max simply walked away, leaving everyone else in shock except for Georgia who ran straight to him. She placed her hand on his shoulder and pulled him into a tight embrace. He melted into her arms. He needed a hug. A simple hug.

"Let's go home."

"Home." He yawned.

"Where is your stuff?"

"Office."

"Let's go get your stuff then we can go home and sleep."

"Okay."

Georgia grabbed hold of his arm and placed her head on his shoulder as they walked towards his office.
