It was 2 hours into the evening at the BAU when Hotch allowed everyone to go home since it had been a slow day. JJ arrived home 20 minutes later to find that WIll's car was not in the driveway and knew that it was futile to call and see when he would be home. After sending the babysitter home for the night; JJ played with her son, Henry and then made him dinner. Once she was finished reading one of Henry's books and putting him to bed, Henry quietly asked, "Mommy?" JJ turned around in the doorway, "Yes Henry?" "Why's daddy never home?" JJ, deeply saddened by her son's question, walks over to his bed and kneels down. "Well sweetheart, daddy has to work a lot just like mommy and sometimes he comes home very late." Henry, still not completely convinced, nods his head. "Okay." JJ softly smiles at her son and says goodnight. Before she can close the door Henry whispers, "I love you mommy." "I love you too, Henry." Closing the door, JJ walks to her bedroom and makes sure to close the door before shedding a few tears. Deciding that it's been a long day, JJ lies down and falls asleep.
A couple hours pass by when the master bedroom door opens and in walks a buzzed Will. For what seems to be a regular thing for him since he's been coming home like this for the past few weeks. "Bill what the hell!? Be quiet Henry's trying to sleep." JJ whispers loudly at Will's loud entrance. "Why should I care about that little brat!?" Will begrudgingly demands. JJ is shocked to hear him talk about his OWN son like that, then again most things that he says to or about her doesn't surprise her anymore. "Well considering he IS your son. I would think you would care if he has a good night's sleep." JJ shakes her head in disgust. "Ok since you're in such a bad mood, I'm gonna go sleep on the couch." As Jennifer starts walking to the doorway of their bedroom, she is suddenly yanked from the doorway. "What in the world?!" After steadying herself from the force of the pull, she turns around to find Will fuming. "Don't you dare walk away from me!" Before JJ can do anything, Will violently throws her onto the bed and slaps her in the face. "Will I swear to god, get off of me now or you are going to regret it." JJ threatens as Will shows no signs of hesitation with his next move. "You really think I'm scared of you!?" Jennifer ignores him and continues to fight to get out from under his weight. However, he doesn't stop and begins to tie her wrists to the bedpost. Horrified by what is happening, JJ tries to reason with him. "Will think about what you're doing. I'm your wife and the mother of your son, you don't want to do this. Please just untie me and we can pretend this never happened." He laughs at the statement and comments, "I don't care." "Well maybe you should CARE about the fact that you are assaulting a federal FBI agent which is a felony." That seemed to get through to him, but only for a second because Will's eyes became black and his face turned stone cold. "Stop talking." Then he rips her shirt and pants. JJ continues to plea with him, but falls on deaf ears, as Will proceeds to hit and slap her, then rapes her. What felt like decades, was only 30 minutes when he pulls out of her and passes out next to her. JJ manages to free herself from the restraints before curling up in a ball and cry.
The next morning JJ wakes up alone, in pain after last night's events. She can't believe that Will actually raped her, it doesn't seem real. After gathering herself, JJ gets up to assess the damages. Looking at herself in the mirror she can already see hand prints on her cheek from his violent slaps, large bruises on her chest and stomach from the punches, and more handprints on her arms from holding her down. Appalled by her appearance, but knowing she can't call in sick, JJ goes to get dressed and tries to do as little damage as possible. Once she is done putting on a long sleeve turtleneck and jeans, JJ applies makeup to the areas that can't be covered by clothes and makes sure that it's not too over done. God knows that if anyone in the BAU sees something out of place, they'll find out and JJ can't have anyone one ever find out what happened. If the team ever found out, she would be a victim and thought of as 'the FBI agent who can't even protect herself from her own husband at home'. Arriving at work, JJ walks into the bullpen and says hello to Prentiss, Reid, and Morgan who are already at their desks before sitting at hers. An hour goes by with nothing major, that is until JJ's phone chimes. JJ glances at her cell to see a text from Will, YOU BETTER BE HOME EARLY OR YOU'LL BE SORRY. Jennifer, who is worried by the contents of the text, isn't aware that Derek is behind her. Derek Morgan is not someone to mess with and can spot a change in one of his friends' demeanors rather quickly. So when Jennifer Jareau walks in and barely gives the team more than a 'hello and good morning', he knows something is up. Not saying that Emily, Spencer, Hotch and Dave aren't bad profilers, it's that Derek has studied JJ since she started at the BAU. He knows the things that piss her off and what makes her smile. It's unlike JJ to not be teasing Spencer or off with Penelope and Emily gossiping who is/not dating. Deciding to go and just make sure that she's okay, Derek is not prepared for what happens next.
