June 28th
Kakashi had seldom felt so free in his entire life. Finally the voice of him and other companions rose to shout that they were all equal in condition and right. That they could love!
And holding the hand of his boyfriend, his partner of exotic beauty Iruka, he continued screaming and making the world see the love and rights of freedom that they so deserved.
However, the scene around his had a mixed atmosphere of uncertainty, happiness, irritation and a bit of fear.
The effusiveness of the atmosphere and a cry of "Gay Power!" it only helped the police not understand the scene in front of them.
"I love you, Iruka."
Kissing deeply the brunette and dancing while others laughed and policemen hit people at random, they continued dancing and celebrating their diversity.
"Hey! You guys! Separate."
A bearded policeman with a club in hand tried to hit Kakashi and Iruka, but they ran through the crowd outside the nightclub, watching as a group of people tried to bring down a van with detainees inside.
A feeling of ingratitude invaded all those who were constantly undervalued and belittled just for being different from others. No more.
"Hey! You fucking stowaways!" Said a woman with a powerful voice. The policemen grimaced. She was a trans.
"We've had enough of this shit! We aren't insects to step on and we are exhausted from all the damn indifference to the mistreatment of diversity."
"It's true." Kakashi said agitated and trying to get away from another policeman. "We're fucking exhausted. We were at a party not hurting anyone and the pigs are coming to arrest us just for having fun in a safe space for us."
The revelation that they no longer had to hide or be submissive to the society that had treated them so badly was reflected in the eyes of Kakashi, Iruka and everyone else. There was no longer any room for grief or shame.
That indescribable emotion overflowed through the pores, the boyfriends, girlfriends or any person, holding hands tightly and everyone who was enjoying the night, tried to re-enter the disco no matter what the world thinks or believes of they.
That night of June 28, 1969, would be the beginning of freedom and expression for all those with the right to love others and themselves.
That much-loved and longed-for freedom was a treasure that would never be released again, making the LGBTQ+ community fight for it with everything they had because, in the end, they had nothing to lose.
And that fight would not be based on hatred, but on fun and love.
As Kakashi looked lovingly at his boyfriend, he dreamed that one day, in the future, they could form a real family in the eyes of a law that still hated them but with hope and faith for the future.
"I love you, Kakashi."
"And I love you too, Iruka. I'm lucky to be happy with you."
And with one last kiss they hugged and continued dancing that revolution of freedom.
End.
