This will be an AU where Marinette & her family lived in America because her family feels like their bakery business would do amazing on the western side of the world. This won't include Adrien or any of her Paris friends cause she never met them. I won't have Jess as Eagle because I didn't like that outfit so I'll keep her in her Sparrow costume to make her & Marinette's relationship interesting.

Chapter 1: This is my life

Marinette was a normal 15 year old girl who was bilingual in French & English because living in New York her life she had to speak the common language. All she knows is that she lived there her whole life and it is such a amazing place for her to become a fashion designer. She was always nice, caring for others even if they were mean to her, loved fashion, baking and designing.

She just transferred to this new High School because it was closer to her new address. One of things Marinette loved was attending a public school mixed with so many children from backgrounds and cultures. So she can't wait to see what this new school year will be like. She heard about these heroes in Paris, she thought they were cool but she knows here in NY there were amazing ones too.

She knows that she didn't have any powers but she admired the heroes anywhere protecting the citizens. The one that really caught her attention was Sparrow because of him being heroic, his costume being fashionable and his voice being so cute. She admits she was a fan girl for having a few posters of him in her room.

Tomorrow she starts her new day at school and she wonders what it'll be like.

Jess's POV

In my Sparrow costume "Ahh another day saving NY", I said while doing a stretch in the owl cave. Uncanny Valley said "Yes, especially with getting our mind off of school tomorrow". I removed my helmet and said in an annoyed voice "Ugghh don't remind me I know we're gonna be sophomores but I'm not really excited". I roll my eyes while undressing the rest of my costume and Uncanny Valley detransforms quickly to Aeon.

Me & Aeon go up in the elevator to their house where both of our mom's are at. Majestia is watching the news making sure of any incidents and Barbara is making them dinner to make. Once they all settle down at the table with a plate of meat, mash potatoes & green peas, they start to talk about school.

Majestia said "So girls are you ready for the new school year?". I said "I guess but I just want to graduate so I can go into full time crime fighting like you guys. We aren't children anymore." Barbara said in a tone "Young lady you & your sister will be looking for actual careers cause being a full time hero isn't all what it seems to be. Just remember education is important." Aeon looks and analyzes the room sensing some tension within me & our mom. She then says "Well Jess, Mama Barbara is right because we can't be focusing on one thing forever." Barbara agrees and says "listen to your sister she knows what she is saying".

I finished my dinner and rolled my eyes, annoyed. Majestia puts her hand on her lover so she can calm down. I was drinking my water and wasn't expecting to hear this from mom. Majestia asked "Jess honey, your mother is right just think about it. But in the meantime going back to school, do you have your eye on any cute girl?". She raised her left eyebrow while smirking and once I heard the question made I choke on my water a bit. Aeon gets her hand and hits my back a bit. I thank Aeon and my checks are somewhat red.

But kept a calm attitude and said "No mom I've been busy with my life at the moment so girls are the last thing on my mind". I get up, thank my mom Barbara for making the food and tell Aeon to come upstairs with me to sleep early. I wear black and silver bat pajamas and Aeon wears a white majestia shirt and purple shorts. Once we both get fully ready to go to bed, Aeon grabs my wrist and says "Don't worry Jess, tomorrow will be a good day". I look at Aeon and smile letting her know she is okay. "Aeon thanks for being concerned about me but it's another school year. Well have a good night and don't let the bed bugs bite." I said. "But we don't have bed bugs. I cleaned the sheets last night" Aeon said. Jess chuckled a bit and said "It's a figure of speech". What I love about Aeon is messing with her for fun in a good way.

The room lights turned off and everything was dark. My bed is covered in a brown blanket and pillow sheets with owl symbols like my & mom's costume. Aeon's bed was a beautiful gold and silver design blanket. I rolled on my left side and thought to myself 'I doubt something amazing will happen to me tomorrow'.

Mari's POV

I thought to myself 'New day, new school year and hopefully a new me'. I am checking myself in the mirror of her everyday outfit of pink pants, light pink shoes, white shirt with her signature flower design and black jacket. I loved wearing this outfit but only when it wasn't super hot. I know it is a great outfit choice for the fall semester.

I go downstairs and greet my parents in the morning. "Good morning mom & dad". My mom said "Good morning darling, I hope you have a wonderful first day. Don't be nervous so I made this breakfast for all of us". The table was full with strawberry oatmeal, croissants, chocolate & blueberry muffins and scrambled eggs with sausage. My dad was almost done eating breakfast and said "Marinette please be careful when going to and back to school. Especially in class with the boys".

I giggled a bit with my left hand near my mouth. I know I am bisexual but I never came out to my parents. I like both genders but couldn't tell if I'm attracted to both equally or one than the other. I replied saying "Don't worry Papa I just want to make new friends and fit in". I kissed them on the checks on my way out to school.

Jess's POV

I was wearing my native american shirt symbol with red sleeves, feather earrings, blue jeans and converse shoes with my black Jansport backpack. Aeon was wearing her casual blue skirt with a light blue majestia shirt. She is lucky she doesn't have to deal with morning hair since she's half android. I put them in two low ponytails in the front.

We tell our mom's goodbye since they have morning/afternoon patrol. I am not too thrilled about this year but I'll wait and see what surprises will happen this year. Once we get to school, me & Aeon check our schedules if we are in the same classes this year. Not in all except math and PE which is alright we can manage without each other.

We hear the first school bell ring to go to 1st period and knowing myself, I don't like going early because I like to be tardy. I wait near the window looking out til everyone is out of the way. I have my left leg kneeled and the other hanging out making myself look like a rebel in my eyes. I got up and was headed to my English class. I wasn't looking up for being on my phone on Instagram to see what people were posting about my hero form.

Next thing I know, someone bumps into me causing us to fall down, our phones on the floor and my head being a bit sore. "I'm so sorry I'm so clumsy! I'm new to this school and would you help me get to these classes?" I hear a girl speaking to me. I had my eyes close while rubbing my head a bit until the pain went away. I opened my eyes and I couldn't believe it but she was on top of me. Like her hands were next to mine, she was looking at me with those beautiful blue bell eyes, her black/blue hair in 2 ponytails and her face being a few inches away from mine. I know I could have moved to adjust myself but she was so cute, my heart started to race a bit and her lips are a pretty shade of pink.

It took me a few moments to snap out of it and push myself to stand up. Once I did I notice she was staring at me too and she got her right hand on her right leg to boost herself up. I picked up our phones and gave her phone back to her. She said "Thank you! I was running around finding my classes because I'm new to this place". I picked up her schedule and looked at it when she was talking.

When I looked up to her, she smiled and put her hand behind her head being a bit nervous. I smiled at her and told her "Don't worry! I got you. I actually have some classes with you like English, French, Culinary and PE. I don't mind showing you around but what's your name? I'm Jessica Keyes but you can call me Jess" I put my right hand out for a greeting. She looked at my hand then back to my eyes, shook my hand and said "I'm Marinette Dupain Cheng and it's nice to meet someone who wanted to help me." We both started walking to class together.

Before entering the class I told her "Don't worry it's the 1st day the teachers could care less about tardiness now. Most of the time you have to act tough and take care of yourself. Hey Marinette if anyone messes with you. Come and let me know so no one bothers you." I punched her in the arm as a friendly gesture and she laughed nervously. "Thanks but I think I can handle myself. But if I do need your help I'll let you know" she said with a wink at the end. I turn my head a bit and feel my cheeks blush a bit. I barely met her but she's so wonderful but I need to hide these feelings.

We entered class together and I sat behind her since we got the last two chairs in the middle for being late. I wasn't expecting this morning to change me but I think this year will be interesting. Marinette Dupain Cheng you are something but I'm gonna keep my eye on you.

Sorry if it's mostly from Jess's POV this chapter & I know it's not the strongest chapter but I just need an opening start. I won't have all the chapters of them be in school or have too much of a love square. I will only add Chloe as the bully who lived here in America cause her mom took her in and she's living with Zoe. I do have ideas for this story & Mari will get her miraculous in a bit. In this version she's not a hero yet until she proves it. I don't want to make this story too long with a lot of details of them in school but only in moments important to the story & Mari/Jess relationship.
