This could be their last day at Keaton, Carly thinks to herself as she watches Vanessa and Beckett sitting together, their hands intertwined. Everyone else is spread out, not even bothering to stick to their discipline.

Sasha and some music kid named Jax are talking about records while Julie and Matteo stare at each other in anger. Jenna and Mindy are talking to George - a boy with a leather bracelet on his wrist that he snaps occasionally.

It's peaceful. It's home. It's... Keaton.

Carly bites down on her lower lip. She's never had any particular attachments to her old schools, let alone this kind of one. But Keaton, Keaton is special and to be honest, she doesn't know what she's going to do if she loses it.

Before she can ponder on it too long, Miles, the boy from her Red Riding Hood project pulls out his guitar, strumming the strings gently and getting everyone's attention.

"So." He begins before laughing roughly, looking around at all 90 of them - the ones who chose to stay and find out.

They had to. Keaton's theirs. It belonged to them.

He clears his throat, and even from her spot on the picnic table, Carly can see that he has tears in his eyes.

"Today has obviously been a day. We don't know if Keaton is going to stay open but I think we should all be really really proud of how we've worked these last few days. So, as a thank you to all of you, here's a song called Spark. You might find it familiar."

Carly smiles softly as Miles starts singing, his soft but steady voice easily filling the courtyard.

"My eyes are open
But I cannot see
And I'm up and walking
Still feels like a dream."

A girl, Alya is her name, who Carly recognizes from her social studies class joins in, smiling as she sings along.

"Did the searing silence
Just shout your name?
While you're holding candles
Without a flame."

Another girl, one with brown hair and steel blue eyes joins in, smiling as well, her hands intertwined with a girl with voluminous curls and a deep tan. They harmonize for a moment before launching into the next line.

"Until our eyes adjust, I guess
We're only feeling in the darkness
Whoa, oh, oh!"

Suddenly everyone joins in and Carly remembers where she first heard this song. The orientation video for Keaton the week before she started. The song had played in her and Vee's heads for days afterwards.

She looks over at her best friend who is giggling as Beckett sings along before kissing her forehead. Carly grins before singing as well.

"We just need a spark (oh, oh)
To light up the dark (oh, oh)
I can feel you with me
I can feel you with me
We just need a spark!"

Someone begins drumming on the picnic tables as they sing the chorus over and over again, giggling and sharing wide grins. Several members of the Streets dance crew and even the Primas pull people out of their seats to dance as Miles continues singing.

"Can you love me
Like maybe I'm the only
Thing you ever laid your eyes on?
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh!"

He looks in Carly's direction and she could feel herself blushing. Vanessa smirks at her from her spot in Beckett's arms. Carly looks away. They finish the song off not long after, everyone out of breath and grinning.

This, is how she wants to remember Keaton, Carly decides. As the place where she found herself. As the place she learned how to be brave. As the place where you could be from anywhere and still make a difference.

That's her Keaton. That's her home.
