A Potter Food Fight

Dinner started out perfectly normal.

The Potter family - Harry, Ginny, James, Albus and Lily - sat around their dining table and started digging in excitedly, as normal.

James munched on corn. Why he liked it, no one had any idea.

Albus ate his rice, which was topped with all kinds of sauces.

Lily dutifully ate her vegetables, sometimes grimacing at the taste.

Harry ate his favored meal of mac and cheese.

Ginny curled spaghetti around her fork, put it in her mouth, and began to chew.

All perfectly normal.

Lily finished her vegetables and started on her salad.

Ginny swallowed her forkful of spaghetti.

A bit of cheese dripped off Harry's chin.

James finished his corn and picked up another one.

Albus poured some ketchup on his rice.

James put his elbow on the table.

And that was when all the chaos started.

James's elbow knocked into Lily's bowl of salad, which topped over into Albus's bowl of rice. Albus tipped his bowl over in surprise. Ketchup splattered onto Ginny's arms, and she immediately waved her arms around, trying to dislodge the ketchup. The red sauce landed on Harry's face, combining with the cheese. Only his eyes were visible, so he looked like a gruesome sort of red-and-yellow monster.

James took one look at his father, and burst out laughing uproariously. He laughed so hard that he was soon clutching his stomach, tears streaming down his face.

He giggled, "Food fight!" then threw his corn at Lily's face.

Lily looked revolted. She scooped up a bit of her salad and threw it at James in return.

James laughed, then grabbed a bit of mac and cheese from his father's plate and threw it at Albus, who, caught up in the excitement, threw a potato (where had he got that from?) at James, who ducked. The potato ricocheted off his chair and hit Ginny's face.

There was a pause, and the children looked slightly guilty.

Then Ginny threw her forkful of spaghetti at James, who screamed girlishly and flailed around. Albus laughed and started whipping his plate around so that everything on it went flying.

Some of Albus's rice hit Harry, who looked surprised for approximately a thousandth of a second, then threw a lump of cheese at Albus.

Within seconds, food was flying everywhere and hitting everyone. A blur of yellow flew at Albus, and cheese splattered on his face.

"FOOD FIGHT!"

Tomorrow, the Potter family would wake up to the sight of their food-covered dining room, but that was a problem for tomorrow.
