Hello everyone! How're you all? Fine and safe?
So, I got this new idea all of a sudden. This is a canon two-shot, basically Hilary-centered, showing her true power as well as portraying her real position in the series, in the team of Bladebreakers. I want to dedicate this two-shot to Golden Glow of Amber aka our dear Ellie, once again, as her belated birthday gift (Not the first though :P) Belated happy birthday, dear. May God bless you and keep you happy, cheerful and healthy always so that you can cling to jiji as well as this site forever *Crushes you into a tight hug*
Sorry to those who were expecting it to be my 100th story. No, my dear readers. It's my 99th story only (Yes, I've deleted one more story though it wasn't written in Beyblade fandom). I've planned something extraordinary for fulfilling my century. Believe me, I'll make the wait worthy enough in the end. Wish me luck so that I can fulfill it as soon as possible (Oh Gosh, I cannot wait and also, cannot stop myself from playing this suspense game with myself xD).
Before starting, let me reply to one of my guest reviewers, Sherin Beulah:
Hi dude, thank you thank you so much for reviewing all my stories that I published in the past few days. I promise you to post a KaiHil lemon in the next month because I'm in my paternal village now, spending my vacation and in the crowd of the relatives, it's quite tough to write a lemon, you know xD. Please, have patience a bit till then. Thanks so much again :D
Here it is:
Genres: Supernatural, adventure, suspense, mystery, thriller and a bit of romance.

4.00 pm it was, shown in the large wall-clock of the living room. Already, the sun was yawning in the west, letting its crimson-orange glow splaying across the sky. In Tachibana manor, two daughters of Mr. Tachibana were busy in their room to store their old fairy tale books which they'd used to read as children, once upon a time. The more they were rummaging through the torn, fade pages of the books, the more they were losing themselves down the fixed, fresh, vibrant memory lanes. Their ruby and turquoise orbs were sparkling in amazement and nostalgic feelings. They were dusting the covers of the book, cleaning them along with their own hearts which had the cluttering dirt of stresses, workloads and worldly anxieties.
"Look, Dew-chan!" The 17-year-old brunette brought a thin orange book and showed it to her sister, "Can you recognize it?"
"Yes!" 15-year-old Dew Tachibana exclaimed with joy, "It was my favorite book, oni-chan! I can still remember all the stories in it."
"Yeah," Hilary nodded, "Mom used to tell you the tales when you used to insist not to sleep. She had to recite them to you one by one. Listening to them, you used to sigh dreamily and say-"
"-If a prince like him could come to me and rescue me!" Dew chirped, finishing the sentence of her sister.
"Exactly!" The brunette giggled, "Scratch Tyson, this fairytale prince was your first crush."
"I don't disagree," Dew sheepishly smiled, "But honestly speaking, I cannot even see any difference between him and Tyson. I think…only because I wanted such a handsome and brave prince for me in my childhood, Almighty has sent him to my life in the form of Tyson."
"So cute of you, isn't it?" Hilary pinched the cheeks of her sister, "Just wait and watch, my sister, very soon, Tyson will be head over heels for you."
"Lucky you are," The purplette sighed, "You've been saved both by Tyson and Kai-kun in your life. Just imagine how much they both care for you and honor you. It is the dream of every girl in our society to get either of them and you're pampered by both!"
"Lucky I am, no denial to that," Hilary acknowledged, "But sometimes, I cannot be happy with it."
"What?" Dew frowned, "But why?"
"Look," Hilary explained the reason to her sister, "In the fairytales written in these books, princes-I mean, only men were shown as heroes and princesses-aka women as damsels in distress. Why always this? Cannot women protect themselves…or any closer man who is in danger? If not, then why?"
"What are you saying, oni-chan?" The purplette's astonishment knew no end as she heard the brunette, "You know that women are considered to be soft. They aren't weak, their strength lies somewhere else but it is not for fighting and saving themselves or others from the clutches of evil. Rather, due to their softness, they become preys to the evil more than men. How will it be possible for them to fight against the evil?"
"Seeming complicated, isn't it?" Hilary snickered, "But wait and watch, Dew-chan. I cannot be a damsel in distress always in my life. Sooner or later, I'll prove that I can also protect myself along with others if needs be."
In return, the purplette was about to say something to her sister but stopped as the doorbell of their house rang. Dew stood up from the floor, "Oni-chan, you arrange these books. Let me check who has come now."
Only 30 seconds were needed to go to the main door of Tachibana manor from the room of the sisters. In this half a minute, the doorbell rang almost 60 times. Dew cocked a brow, reaching the door. Who was pressing the switch and ringing the bell so crazily? Did his fingers become paralyzed all of a sudden or did the person go insane completely?
However, her irritation vanished like vapors when she opened the door, discovering one of her most favorite persons aka her prince charming standing outside. Even his sight made her heart skip one of its beats; cheeks glowed magenta. She couldn't even remember to ask him why he was desperately pressing the calling bell without giving his fingers a break. On the other hand, the navy-haired world-champ was breathless outside the house, wheezing. His whole body was covered with sweats; indigo bangs clinging to his forehead. Auburn eyeballs were fluctuating as if he'd run a long distance to come here. At that time, he didn't have the mood to bother whether the girl was irritated with him or swooning over him.
"Tyson?" Dew's face adopted a huge grin, "Why're you standing outside? Come in. Sit and tell me what you would like to eat…"
"Dew, it's not the time for these things," Huffing, the blunette stretched a palm to stop her, "Call Hilary. It's urgent."
"O-okay." Somehow nodding, the purple-haired girl went in with a heart pumping fast. Tyson slumped on a chair, breathing unstably. The heart in his chest was still jumping with a skipping rope. He was quite nervous and at a loss, not knowing what step should be taken at that moment. He gulped and looked around, clasping his knuckles. His throat was yearning for a droplet of water but he himself wasn't in the mood to gulp that. Each moment felt like eternity to the navy-haired world-champ. Gosh, why was Hilary taking so time to come?
"Tyson?" The worried brunette rushed in the living room, "What happened? Is…everything okay?"
"No Hilary, nothing is okay," Tyson stood up, seeing the chocolate-haired girl, "Kai has been kidnapped!"
A thunderbolt rumbled on the head of the brunette; the ground crumbled underneath her feet. The turquoise pupils of the purple-haired girl who was standing behind her sister became widened. Stepping back in shock to maintain her balance, the chocolate-haired girl stuttered somehow, "What…what are you saying, Tyson?"
"Yeah," The dragoon-wielder remorsefully nodded, "In the morning, we all were sleeping peacefully. Like always, I got up late among everyone. But today, Kai wasn't there to wake me up by throwing cold water on my face or tickling my ear with a cotton bud. When my sleep broke and I came out, I saw Ray, Max, Kenny, Daichi and grandpa sitting on the floor of the living room, sprawling their legs. Their faces were hung low."
"Then?" Dew asked, anxiously looking at the brunette who couldn't manage to utter a word still.
"When I asked them, they informed me that Kai was missing since the morning," Tyson replied, gritting his teeth, "They also knocked at the door of Kai's room but he didn't open it. Launching their blades, when they broke the door…they…"
"They?" Hilary whispered, "They did what, Tyson?"
"They…" Tyson's voice was quivering, "They found the ragged pieces of Kai's top on the bed, smeared with blood. His blood-stained scarf was on the floor, curled in a pile. The curtains… curtains of the window were torn, stands were broken, glass… glass shards were scattered eve… everywhere. In a corner, we found Dranzer…. in a very miserable state-almost broken and its tiny pieces were…just falling on the floor. Thank goodness, the bit-chip was intact. Kenny's repairing the blade but we couldn't find Kai anywhere despite searching a lot in the whole…whole city!"
"Did…you guys inform the police?" The purple-haired girl asked.
"No," Tyson disappointedly shook his head, "I wanted to but Ray said that it would only be riskier for Kai's life. I tried to communicate with Dragoon so that he could know something from Dranzer but Dragoon told me that Dranzer was too exhausted and traumatized to share everything with him. Honestly speaking, I-I really have no idea how to solve it."
Hilary exhaustedly thumped on a nearby chair, huffing. Everything was seeming very blank, very blur to her. Her heart used to see Kai Hiwatari, the captain of Bladebreakers as a savior, as someone who could risk his own life for saving others, be them human beings or animals or birds. He might be a bit cold, emotionless, unsocial but he wasn't uncaring. There was hidden kindness and sympathy in his heart. To the brunette, he was someone more special-providing her with the dignity that she deserved in the team, giving her the trust and respect always. For everything, she would always be grateful towards him, cherishing the romantic admiration for him in her heart forever. But…what to do now?
'Kai….' A whimpering whisper came out from her throat as her eyes surged, 'Where are you?'
6.00 pm it was. The sun had already set in the west but its crimson glow was spreading all over the sky, dipping the white cottons in the faint scarlet watercolor. Birds were returning to their nests after travelling across the earth. But they weren't visible to the remorseful, frustrated members of Bladebreakers who were sprawling their legs on the wooden floor of the living room of the dojo in different poses, closing all the doors and windows. Nobody's face wore a smile. There was dense darkness prevailing all over the room, even outside but not a single person did have the idea to turn on the lights. As if they'd never bothered of the darkness ever in their life. Or…was it only for mourning for the slate-haired captain?
The purple-haired girl was in tears, seeing the miserable, battered condition of her navy-haired crush whose eyes also might get broken anytime though he was trying his best to control himself. Daichi forgot how to make the situation crazy or say, he was speechless. Losing his usual cheery persona, the blonde American was sobbing. Squeezing his shoulders, the raven-haired neko-jin was trying to comfort him, carefully wiping his own tears sometimes. The fingers of the spectacled brunette were raising a storm over the keyboard of his laptop as he was desperately searching for a clue to rescue their leader but bad his luck was, he couldn't find a single hint in this case.
There were two members absent in the silent meeting. One was the dual-haired captain of Bladebreakers, another was the brunette. The reason of the former was known to everyone though the solution wasn't. Whereas, the brunette had locked herself in the same room from where the leader had been abducted. Clutching his ripped scarf closer to her chest, she had burst into uncontrollable tears. Even before a few minutes, from Kai's chamber, her sobbing could have been heard. Now, it was all-muted. Even dropping a pin would break it very easily. Along with Kai, they all were worried for Hilary too but they couldn't get her out despite slamming on the door countless times. Now, they all were fatigued-both physically and mentally.
"So…" Dew tried to break the unbearable discreetness which was choking her breaths, "What are you guys planning to do to save Kai-kun?"
"Well…" Kenny replied, yet typing, "No fingerprint was found from the belongings of Kai that were possibly touched by the kidnapper. Dizzi scanned everything and reported to me. According to her, the abductor isn't any mere human being. It's a…"
"Bit-beast?" Ray frowned.
"Yeah," Chief nodded, "The bit-beast isn't Black Dranzer nor Zeus. It also seems like no evil person has sent it to kidnap Kai or steal our sacred bit-beasts. The bit-beast itself is its director. Independent and mighty."
"But why did it kidnap Kai?" Tyson's voice was broken, "What does it want from Kai or us? What's its motive after all?"
"I wish I could answer to these questions of you, Tyson," The nerd sighed, "But this is really very mysterious and creepy."
"Sorry to interrupt the conversation, Kenny," The mechanical feminine voice sounded, "But I'd like to inform you that I've got an email from an anonymous account. Would you please open it?"
"Ah…sure." Agreeing, Chief went to his inbox and clicked on the unread mail. It came with a video clip which was a bit long. The message attached to it read: Open the clip.
"A video footage?" Kenny frowned, "At this time?"
"Play it, Chief," Ray asked, "It may have some clues."
"Hm." The brown-haired nerd clicked the tape, setting it in full-screen mode. The sudden resonation of stormy gusts of wind echoed in the dark room, shaking the souls of everyone. The background of the footage was still black. Bit by bit, it came to light as the young people in the room mustered together to watch it more clearly. However, for witnessing the next scene, nobody among them was prepared.
To the stony barrier, the phoenix-prince was tied with shackles, around his wrists and feet. A metal collar was pushing his neck towards the wall. His bare torso was bearing so many cuts and scarps, blood dripping from them on the floor. Head was lowered, slate bangs covering his amethyst orbs. His body was violently shaking; it seemed the temperature of the room was quite low; maybe lower than the typical atmosphere of Russia. The spectacles from Kenny's head were about to fall though he maintained them somehow. Daichi's and Max's eyes became widened, Dew covered her eyes in utter horror, Ray and Tyson just clenched their fangs and fists. Kai was their leader, the pride and honor of Bladebreakers. Never did they think him to be in such a condition even in their most terrifying nightmares.
"Kai…" Tyson murmured, "Who…who did…"
"Relax, dear bladebabies," A harsh, chilling, emotionless voice whose gender couldn't be determined perfectly, spoke, "I know that you all have been very tensed, angry and sad as you are watching this. Believe me, I had no intention to trouble your captain that much but what could I do? He himself was trying to be a hero as always, jumping in the open jaw of his own destruction and resulted in this. Honestly speaking, I'm also feeling very sorry for him. What a pitiful condition he is in now! So sad, isn't it?"
Even in his semi-conscious state, Kai seemed to seethe a bit as being pitied was one of those things which he used to dislike the most in this world, thinking that it could only crush his honor. The being appeared to know the same thing too, that's why it enjoyed to do so, "However, you all must be thinking now why I have kidnapped only Kai Hiwatari though there are many talented and potential bladers in this world; specially Tyson Granger, the three-time world-champion. Quite simple the reason is. Tyson can easily win a battle but only Kai has the ability of both starting and ending it."
"Huh?" The Bladebreakers, including the dragoon-wielder particularly, were confused.
"Not only that," The unknown bit-beast continued, "Kai is the ultimate protector of Bladebreakers, the bridge he is-which can join the edges of all the three realms-heaven, the earth and hell. I know it far well that nobody among you guys will want to leave him ever, no matter how much he tries to maintain distance with you. That's why, I kidnapped only him so that I can get all of you. You all should have seen how I abducted him. Entering his room and waking him up, I created an illusion before his eyes that I was going to harm you guys. He jumped, took his Dranzer and launched it perfectly-but who in this world doesn't know that an independent being is way stronger than a dependent one? In the same way, I defeated the little phoenix, crushed both his blade as well as him and in the end, I left as a winner, lifting the prize. See, how brightly it is shining on my trophy-case!"
Now, none of the Bladebreakers could hold their anger back anymore. Tyson expressed it at first, blurting, "You have no idea of the power of Bladebreakers! You have only tried to stretch your malicious, evil hand at their pride. You'll see how they will call your end now!"
"Relax, guys, relax, no need to be so hyped so soon," The bodiless being jeered, "I know how eager you all have become to destroy me but before it, listen to my words carefully. In a battle, you have to apply your brain sometimes with your physical power and warfare techniques too. Do you all know that I have got a boon? It is: I will never be killed or destroyed or defeated by any blader, be him or her be the mightiest in this world or not. Nor will any bodiless being, any bit-beast, any powerless beyblade, any worldly weapon, any single element of this world be able to overthrow me. In short, I'm immortal, I'm undefeatable!"
The bladers who had been roaring the roars of battleground before a while shrank, yet, exchanging skeptic glares with one another. Disbelief was evident in their hearts. Sensing it, it spoke again, "Cannot believe? I know that you'll find it hard, yet, your own bit-beasts are responsible for it as they themselves granted me this boon long ago when none of you were born in this world."
Now, they felt even more confused. Clutching the silver blade in his hand, the navy-haired guy whispered, "Is it true, Dragoon?"
"Yes, Master…" The serious pitch of his bit-beast sounded harsh in the ear of the world-champ, "He's only a spirit created from all our energies combined. When he performed a tough and harsh austerity for years, we all became pleased with him, thus wanting to grant him a boon. As he wanted this, we all gave it to him happily. Never did we know that he would misuse his boon only in this way…."
"Great!" Tyson gritted his teeth, "So bit-beasts also commit mistakes, don't they?"
"Did you think them to be deities who are perfect and beyond all kinds of flaws, dear world-champ?" The unknown bit-beast sneered, "No, they aren't. That's why, they don't have the ability to defeat me. So, your betterment is only in surrendering yourselves to me. Perhaps, it may save your lives along with your captain's. I hope you will apply your brains this time, think about everything will cool heads and take your decision."
At this time, Kai seemed to murmur something though it wasn't clearly heard by the bladers. The voice smirked, "I also hope that you don't make any idiocy like making a non-blader your leader. I think you all are intelligent enough to find out my location. If you fail in that, don't worry, I myself will come to collect the rest of my trophies. Take care. Bye."
The video clip ended; the bizarre silence stayed among the boys for a while. None of them could utter a single word. The room was as mute as an abandoned graveyard. They all were like alive corpses, imprisoned in sealed coffins. It couldn't be understood who was weeping and who was not. For the first time in his life, Tyson felt helpless. The door of Kai's room wasn't opened by the brunette yet but they were tensed more for Kai. They didn't know of whom they should take care at first. More or less, from the recording, they all guessed that saving Kai would be impossible for them as Dragoon himself gave his statement, accepting his defeat. They all already got to know the reality but none of them had the heart to accept it verbally. None of them had the courage to utter those bitter words.
"Bladebreakers is no more, guys…." Tyson clenched his teeth, wiping his tears, "Let's surrender to him."
"I would like to salute Kai for his efforts to save our team which could even take his own life," Ray sighed heavily, trying hard to control his waterworks, "But unfortunate and worthless we are, we…we couldn't even give a single try to save him…only in order to respect his struggles till the end…"
"I…I…" Dew was sobbing, placing her head on Tyson's arm, "How will I deliver this news to oni-chan, Tyson? Her…her life stays in that of Kai-kun, in the unity, teamwork and unbreakable spirit of winning of all you guys. How will I even face her?"
"Why? What have you done that you will be ashamed to show your face to your own sister?"
The door of a certain room suddenly thudded open as the determined, chilling feminine voice echoed, clinking in the strange, weighty discreetness of the room. A ray of light ripped the condensed darkness apart from the same source. Baffled, the boys shifted their stares in the same direction, surprised to no end. Their voice rang in the same melody:
"Hilary? You?"
What after it? What will Hilary do? Will the boys really trust her? Has she come here with a solution or something else? Besides, how's the plot seeming?
Dear readers, do read and review. Pardon the grammatical and spelling errors. Take care and stay safe.
Dear Ellie, I hope you've liked it too just like "Firegirl". Wish you a very very happy birthday once again (Though belated). Love you to no end, dearie *Smooches*
