Rangers POV
This last mission had been brutal, we had been assigned as a protective detail to a young boy and his mother from her politician of an ex husband. Mrs Lee had found her husband doing the nasty on his desk with none other than his blond hair bimbo of a secretary. What no one knew is Mr Lee had a bad habit of knocking both his wife and kid around, we found out that he had been paying off the doctors so they wouldn't say a word about it. He had found the hotel that they had been staying at and had proceeded to beat his wife so badly he had put her in a coma, mica was the lucky one. The poor boy had received a broken arm for the trouble of trying to protect his mother. We had been called in by the wife's sister, it was a day late but we went to work nonetheless. My team had been three days into the protection detail when the mica had been pulled out of school by his crazy father and he had taken the poor boy on the run with him. He was reported to be armed and dangerous, both of which were true. I sighed and stared at the desktop in front of me, my eyes feeling tired and raw. Mica had been taken for forty hours when we got the call that mica lee had been found beaten to death but a road worker about 5 miles outside of trenton. The team was silent but I could see tears in some of their eyes, it was the first time we had lost a child. It was hard to describe the emotions going through me at the moment in time, anger and sadness sat just below the surface. Something closer to depression sat soul deep as I stood and went to my office and closed the door. I need to be alone at that moment in time. I sat down heavily in my desk chair and placed my head in my hands, tears leaked out of the corners of my eyes and I quickly wiped them away. No one needed to see their leader losing his shit. If i was gonna lose it then there was only one place i could go. I wiped my face and grabbed the keys to my porsche and headed for the elevator. I needed to see the one person that always calmed me, always soothes my soul. I needed my babe.
