A/N: Hello, this is my first BNHA fic, but it's originally posted on Twitter (May 2020). I've taken the liberty to add and edit a couple of things to help with the flow of the story. And thank you, Ashy for being the best beta (;w;)

Plot: Katsuki caught Ochako updating her "future baby names list" on her phone. And yeah, well, he had a few concerns.

"Why the flying fuck is 'Izuku' on this list?!"

One scene. Oneshot.

The List

Bakugou Katsuki could count on one hand what he valued most in life— sleep being one of them. So if anything or anyone disrupted it, best believe he was going to make them fucking regret it. But of course, every rule had certain exemptions.

It was pitch black when Katsuki lazily opened his eyes, save for the lone phone screen illuminating the darkness of his dorm room. He reached out towards the light that fucking woke him up and closed the flip phone his girlfriend had her hands on.

The sudden movement made Ochako jump, the softest of squeals escaping her lips.

"Cheeks, it's–" Katsuki's voice was still hoarse as he checked for the time, and fuck. "—It's one in the morning."

They had training in less than four hours and class right after. So what the fucking hell?

Ochako laid next to Katsuki, tangling her legs with his under the sheets. Katsuki was always so warm, and her cold feet felt right at home. It was only the beginning of October but god was it already freezing.

"Sorry I woke you. I had to type stuff down before it slipped my mind." Her voice was barely above a whisper, but it was steady and alert.

"I'm almost done, promise. I'll just face this way so my screen isn't in your way. I'll lower the brightness too." She flipped her phone open once more— Katsuki still had to squint with the sudden burst of light.

Ochako mumbled another apology as she pressed the buttons on her keypad at an incredibly fast pace. "Or I could finish in the common area–"

"What the hell's so important that you just have to type it down on your phone at this hour?"

Katsuki stared down at the girl he had his arms wrapped around. He always knew Ochako was a night owl. She was the type of person who pulled of all nighters but that was during exam week and that was months away. They were already finished with their homework so it couldn't have been that. They didn't even have that much school work since they were on their third year at UA and most of their academics were focused on internships now.

To Katsuki's surprise, Ochako absentmindedly blurted out the truth, "I'm updating my –'future baby names'– list." This was further confirmed when Ochako's fingers froze the moment she realized what she said.

Katsuki blinked, unsure if he heard correctly. "You're doing what?"

Her unresponsiveness and his curiosity made Katsuki take Ochako's phone from her grasp.

And just like that, it was like a spell had been broken and Ochako was ready to pounce. "Hey! It's rude to take someone else's phone!"

Katsuki had his attention on the pink flip phone as he mumbled a half assed, "Sorry."

"You are not!" Ochako rolled her eyes. "Bakugou Katsuki, don't make me use my quirk on you."

It was an empty threat and they both knew it.

"You won't," Katsuki said as a matter of factly, eyes glued on Ochako's phone, scrolling down. "This is a long ass list."

Ochako tried to reach for her phone, but why were her arms so short?!

She found him studying her phone with such seriousness that it made her face heat up. Nobody was supposed to see this. Especially him!

Ochako wasn't exactly the type of person to make lists, but names have always fascinated her— origins, meanings, the whole shebang.

It started with stars. As a child, Ochako's family had an unwritten rule- which she carried with her to this very day- of gazing at the night sky during weekends.

Imagine her surprise when her parents told her that those sparkly dots scattered in the high unkown had names and backstories depending on their country of origin. She devoured every information, from the Greeks to the Romans, from the moon Calypso to the planet Venus.

She read, she researched, and she observed. She would write them down on her notebook and when she finally got her first phone, the phone she's still using now, Ochako ended up typing the names that stood out to her the most and saved it in one of her folders.

Ochako sighed. Might as well have a conversation about it.

"I've had it since middle school," she found herself explaining, lips pursed. Katsuki quirked an eyebrow. "Yeah?"

Instead of answering, she sat up and reached for her phone once more but still struggled to recover it. It was worth a shot.

"Katsuki, this is really embarrassing. Let's pretend this never happened."

"They're not bad."

"What?" Ochako asked even though she heard him clearly. She just didn't believe him.

"The names. They're pretty decent." Katsuki patted the spot next to him, urging her to lay back down to which she gave in with a grunt seconds later.

"They're mostly celestial names," Ochako provided.

"I noticed. Ryuusei's nice." Katsuki kissed the top of her head as they both went through the list and Ochako no longer wrestled for her phone's possession.

She smiled. It was one of the first names she included. "We're not here to judge the names I wrote down in case you're forgetting."

"You're the one who woke me up, Ochako."

"So this is payback?!"

Katsuki grinned. "You've had this list since middle school?"

She stuck her tongue out at him, aware that he chose not to respond to her previous question. "Yeah. I update it once in a while."

She was about to nestle closer to him, surprised at the turn of events and at how calm Katsuki's responding. Ochako expected him to—

"Why the flying fuck is 'Izuku' on this list?!"

This was the first (and likely the last) time Ochako heard her boyfriend say Deku's given name. She couldn't even savor the moment because he was glaring at her phone as if it was the most vile being in existence.

"Lower your voice!" Ochako said. He was going to wake up the entire dorm at this rate.

"Like you haven't been shouting?!"

Crap crap crap. She completely forgot about it. She included Izuku's name in the middle of their second year. Still, Ochako was torn if she should be worried or burst out laughing at Katsuki's reaction.

"There's nothing fucking celestial about this nerd's name! Why the fuck is this,—" he said with so much venom in his voice, "—even included in the first place?"

It was a rhetorical question but Ochako wanted to tease him (just a little) so she said, "I said the list was mostlycelestial and because Deku's my best friend and–"

"I thought Frog Girl was your best friend?"

"She is! I can have more than one best friend!" Ochako defended. "Deku, Tsu, Tenya," she started listing them out. She locked eyes with Katsuki, "And of course you. You're all my best friends."

"Tch." He looked away. "Whatever you say, Cheeks. But–"

"But what?"

He pointed at Deku's first name on the list. "Remove that."

"What? No!" Ochako stood her ground. It was her list and he was being overly dramatic about it.

"We are not naming our kid after Deku."

Ochako blinked. She wasn't sure if her heart stopped or if it was beating way too fast. Either way, she was freaking out because oh my god we.

Oh my god our kid.

She froze on the spot, her thoughts were going berserk. They've only been dating for a little over a year. They've never talked about kids, even hypothetically.

Sure their friends had teased them nonstop about it. Especially when Katsuki blew a fuse which— surprisingly, wasn't as often as it used to be— and how they hoped the baby would have Ochako's personality instead.

She didn't dare bring this topic up. They're still so young and had their careers ahead of them. So even as a 'what if' conversation, it was out of the table. At least that's what she thought.

But Ochako did wonder— would they have her brown hair and his red eyes? Or his blond hair and her brown eyes? Maybe one gene pool was stronger than the other. Ochako cursed at herself. Why did she have to update the list now?

Katsuki, unperturbed and oblivious that the brunette beside him had been rendered silent by his statement mumbled, "I'm fucking deleting the name."

Oh hell no.

"You are in no position to make that executive decision." She had her say in this. This was her— their?— list. Well the names were on her phone, that was certain. She wasn't going to back down that easily. "Izuku's a great name!"

"Would you fucking want our kid to be named after Shitty Hair?"

Ochako's heart and frustration melted away. She didn't even try to hide her smile. "Awww, Katsuki. Did you just admit that Kirishima-kun's your best friend? That's so sweet."

Katsuki looked at her as if she had just sprouted three extra heads. "Like hell I did."

"You did!" Oh wow. She wished she had recorded it. Maybe she could ask him to repeat it later.

"Because I wanted to name ou—" she stopped midway, but something inside of her told her to screw it, she wanted to say it, so she was going to do just that, "—our baby after my best friend and then you mentioned Kiri-"

"Yeah yeah yeah." He cut her off, not wanting to admit she was correct. "You ain't gonna mention this shit to him."

"I won't." She was so gonna tell Eijirou in class tomorrow. He was gonna have a freaking field day.

Katsuki buried his nose to her hair and whispered, "Liar."

"Guilty as charged." Ochako snuggled closer, getting comfortable. She rested her head on his chest. "Eijirou's a good name though." She successfully managed to quickly snatch her phone from him. "I'll put it on the list!"

"Fuck no."

"It's on the list!" Ochako exclaimed with much less bravado— sleep slowly taking over. Wresting for her phone took its toll on her.

Katsuki wrapped his arms around her. "We'll continue this conversation in the morning."

"It is morning."

"Tryna be a smartass?"

She was quiet and for a second Katsuki thought she'd fallen asleep, but her breathing was still uneven so that couldn't have been the case.

"Hey, Och–" Katsuki was in the middle of running his fingers through her hair when she looked up at him.

"You'll consider them though, right? The names? I mean–" Ochako fought back a yawn. "Well if you don't like 'em you just have to live with it— but we could at least–"

Katsuki fought back his laughter as he held her tighter. Of course she'd have her way, but he wasn't going to tell her that just yet. She was too fucking cute.

"Just go to sleep, Ochako."

Her face lit up, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Yay! Thank you!"

"Oi. I didn't say yes."

Bakugou Katsuki could count on one hand what he valued most in life.

"You didn't say no either." She yawned, eyes already closed.

"Good night, Katsuki."

Uraraka Ochako being one of them.

"Night, Cheeks."
