A/N: Hey everyone! Epifunny here!
So, this idea has been stuck in my mind for quite some time now and I finally decided to write it down. This is my first one shot, and I hope you enjoy it.
Disclaimer: The Mortal Instruments and all the characters belong to Cassandra Clare (this unfortunately includes Jace as well). I only own the plot.
Also, this one shot will be in Jon's POV.

The Gas Station

"Joooooon!" Clary wined loudly from the passenger seat. "Jon, I need to pee!"

"What?! Now?" Jon looked away from the road for a few seconds to turn and stare at her, exasperated.

"Yes, Jonathan. Now! I want to pee!" She said, turning to glare at him angrily.

"But we're in the middle of a highway!" He replied, annoyed. By the Angel, she has the worst timing ever.

"So find a place for me to pee!" Clary practically screeched at him, her green eyes that were so like his glittering in rage.

"Can you please stop saying pee so many times?" He said, amused and irritated at the same time.

"Can you please stop being so annoying?" she said, mimicking his tone.

God, sometimes he wondered whether she really was the older twin.

Knowing the extent of her temper and not wanting to face the brunt of it, he quickly tried to calm her down.

"Look, just hold it in for a few minutes. There's a gas station two miles ahead. You can pee over there. We need some snacks anyway. " he said.

"Fine." she huffed, crossing her arms over her chest and slouching in her seat, her mouth set in a pout.

And then she asks why I call her a five year old.

"We're here. Be quick." He said, as he shut off the car. He had barely finished speaking when Clary jumped out of his truck, running to the women's room.

Shaking his head in amusement, he walked to the convenience store looking around for a few snacks. Brown University was still two hours away, and Clary couldn't last that long without food.

Picking up a few packets of chips, he eyed the curvy brunette at the cash counter. He knew that Clary hated to be kept waiting, so he decided to spend some time flirting with the cashier as payback for her screeching earlier. No doubt he would have hell to pay for it later, but for now, it seemed to be worth it.

He walked to the counter, winking suggestively at the girl, who giggled and batted her eyelashes at him flirtatiously.

"Hey there, handsome. How can I help you?" she asked him, twirling her curled hair around her finger.

"Well, Jenny," he said, after a quick glance at her name tag. "Seeing your pretty face just made my day."

She gave another high-pitched giggle, twirling her hair some more, the bright red of her long nails standing out against the brown.

"Oh stop. You're making me blush."

"Well then, it's one gorgeous blush."

She laughed at that, leaning forward on the counter so her breasts were pushed upwards from her dangerously low cut crop top.

With a sly grin, Jon leaned forward as well. Well, there's nothing wrong with having a bit of fun.

About twenty minutes later, Jon walked out of the store with an armful of free snacks. He had expected to see Clary leaning against his truck, looking pissed, ready to scream at him. So he was quite surprised, to say the least, when he could not see her anywhere around the parking lot. In fact, he couldn't see her anywhere.

He pulled out his phone and tried calling her, only to be stopped short when he heard her phone ring from inside his car. Swearing softly to himself, he ran towards the washroom and skidded to a stop when he saw a tall blonde leaning on the one the wall outside the men's room. He could see something red and frizzy from under Blondie's arm. With a growl, he stomped towards the duo.

Oh, she was so dead.

"Clary! Clarissa Adele Morgenstern!"

She glanced at him from Blondie's side and her eyes widened so comically that Jon would have burst into hysterical laughter if he wasn't so mad. Blondie also turned around to look at him, his brows furrowed in confusion.

"What the hell Clary! Do you know how badly you scared me? Oh, you have no idea how much trouble you are in." He was yelling at this point, and he didn't even care that people were staring at them.

"Chill Jon. Jace and I were just talking."

"Chill? Chill?! You could have been kidnapped for all I knew Clary!"

It was at that moment that 'Jace' decided to pop in.

"I'm sorry, but who are you?"

"I'm her older brother, that's who I am!"

Jon felt a rush of glee run through him when Jace eyes widened, and the confusion in them was replaced by fear.

"Oh shut it Jonathan." Clary snapped. "Firstly, as you can see, I'm perfectly fine. Secondly, you're younger to me!"

"By five minutes! We're twins Clary! Besides, with your height, no one's going to think you're the older one."

"Jace thinks I look older. Don't you, Jace?"

Blondie started spluttering and stuttering while Jon snorted and Clary gasped out of indignation.

"Whatever Jon. Look, Jace and I just started talking because he is going to Brown as well."

Jon scowled when Clary said that. He'd had a hard enough time scaring boys away from her in high school. And now she was talking to a boy who clearly had the hots for her, while he would be on the other side of the country! Jace, on the other hand, looked positively scared for his life. Clearly, he was not expecting to meet the overprotective brother of the pretty girl he wanted to flirt with.

"Sure Clare, whatever you say. You're going to see him at college anyway, so you guys can talk later. For now, let's go."

"Fine." she huffed.

Turning to Jace, she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek, making Jon clench his fists in anger. But for once, Jace didn't seem to notice the rage directed towards him. Instead, his cheeks and ears were tinged with pink and he had a dazed, sort of elated expression. A goofy grin was plastered across his face as he watched Clary walk away, but it was quickly washed away when Jon blocked his view.

"Listen up jerk. I know you're not going to stay away from her, so I'm warning you. Treat her well, or I'm going to find you and I'm going to break every. Single. Bone. In your body, until you are begging for mercy. We clear?"

Jon smirked as he saw Blondie gulp quickly and furiously nod his head.

"Good. I'll see you around then."

With a firm slap on Jace's shoulder, that was hard enough to make the boy wince, Jon walked back to his truck.

Half an hour away from the gas station, Clary had started texted someone on her phone. This went on for about fifteen minutes, with the occasional snort or giggle from her, until Jon couldn't take it anymore.

"Clare, who are you texting?"

"N-no one. Why d-do you want to know?"

Jon narrowed his eyes towards her. She had stuttered and was getting defensive, clear signs that she was lying. He thought about it for a minute, before his narrowed even further.

"It's not that Jace kid, is it?"

"…maybe?"

"What?! I was gone for twenty minutes Clary, twenty minutes! Why would you give him your number?!"

"Well technically, he gave me his number."

"I don't care! Twenty minutes is not enough to exchange numbers!"

"Hey! He's a good person and I like talking to him so shut up and drive!"

Jon huffed, but didn't bring up Blondie again.

Just over an hour later, they were finally at Brown University. Clary squealed and jumped out of the truck, while Jon got out in a more dignified manner. The twins stood still for a few minutes, staring up at the campus, mouths agape in absolute awe. That is, until a gorgeous blonde caught Jon's eye.

She was wearing a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a lacy top, her blonde hair flowing down to the small of her back. And when she turned around, his heart just about stopped.

She had a beautiful and slender face, with radiant and pale skin, green eyes gleaming from under her thick lashes. When by some miracle, her eyes met his, he wanted nothing more than to fall to his knees and kiss the ground she was standing on. He couldn't stop himself from winking at her, and to his absolute delight, she blushed and smiled at him. God, I want to see that blush for the rest of my life.

"Hey Clary." He whispered.

"Yeah?"

"How do you feel about me studying at Brown as well?"

"Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern!"

Aaaand, that's a wrap!
Poor Jace, overprotective brothers are a nightmare.
