So these are some short stories about the Titans interacting with each other. Everything will be platonic. Everything.
I got this tiny notebook from a family friend and I took it to school so I could use it as a planner. And obviously, that did not happen.
This is chapter one and the first, well, second thing I wrote in that tiny notebook.
I DO NOT OWN THE TEEN TITANS OR THE SAYING
The saying is from a book called "Revel" by Maurissa Guibord. Go give it a read, it was really good
Characters
Raven
Robin
"A sailor never drowns, they're only lost at sea."
"What?" Robin asked.
Him and Raven were sitting at the kitchen island getting ready to eat lunch together. The others were out. Something about a new restaurant that they wanted to try, leaving Raven and Robin back at the tower as a storm raged on.
"Huh?" Raven blinked at him.
"What does that mean?" He asked, putting away the food he used to make their sandwiches.
"You don't say that when the waters are rough?" Raven questioned.
"No, I've never heard of that before." Robin admitted, sitting down and handed Raven her sandwich.
"Thank you." Raven accepted the food.
"What does it mean?"
"It was something one of the monks used to say when the weather got bad. It was a blessing of some sort she was taught when she lived on Earth." Raven answered. Looking over to the window, the storm intensifying.
"Is it some sort of protection?" Robin asked.
"In a way I guess." Raven shrugged. "It was mainly a way of keeping hope that someone doesn't drown if things get bad in a storm, that they're only lost and will return. Hence the sailor reference since they are at sea a lot."
"Did that happen a lot?"
"Drownings?"
Robin nodded.
"On earth yes. But not on Azarath. There weren't oceans that get dangerous like there are here but there were bodies of water, so she said it in protection for anyone who would be out in the water, whether it was good or bad weather. There's no harm in adding extra protection around water."
Robin nodded, agreeing with Raven's statement. "Where on Earth was she from?"
Raven thought for a moment, trying to remember. "Somewhere northeast in the US. I want to say Maryland but I don't really remember."
"We should go there sometime." Robin suggested.
"Maryland?"
"Yeah. There's this really fun beach there. Bruce used to take me there when I was younger. That way, we can properly do the blessing."
Raven smiled at the mention of him wanting to join her in a blessing.
"You know," Raven started, "to properly do it, you have to be in the water."
Robin blinked. "Like in in the water? During the storm?"
"That depends on if you're blessing someone you are close to or not." Raven took a bite of her sandwich. "The deeper to your heart they are, the deeper in the water you go, the greater the risk is."
"That makes sense." Robin nodded while tossing over the information he was given.
They both jumped as a very bright bolt of lightning flashed followed immediately by a large clap of thunder, shaking the tower.
"But wouldn't that put you in danger too?" Robin asked, concerned that she might have gone out in weather similar to this.
"Then don't be stupid and go out in the water like that." She said simply. Getting up to get a cup of water. "Now, did you still want to train after lunch?"
"Nah," Robin shook his head, "this is good lay down and watch a movie weather. Let's do that instead."
Raven nodded and sat on the couch, bringing the rest of her food with her and waited a few minutes while Robin finished his lunch
Once they picked a movie, they only got a few minutes in before the others came back soaking wet.
"It's raining." Cyborg stated with defeat, beside him a nervous Beast Boy and a jumpy Starfire.
The birds shrugged as the three went to dry off while they continued to watch their movie, storm raging on in the background.
Ok, how'd you like it?
I changed the quote from "he's only lost at sea" to "they're only lost at sea" because why not.
If you have any suggestions let me know. Leave a review as well!! 3
