Hello everyone. I share with you one of the voluminous works on the topic "adventure / travel in the jungle". I wrote this story back in February 2016, as a teenager. It may contain inaccuracies in the characters ' characters, illogical moments, and possible errors. But the story itself should be exciting. It also has a sequel, but more on that later)
It all started in the lab… On a beautiful day in May, Jimmy was working with chemicals, as well as potions. The guy was in a good mood, working with potions and chemicals did not tire him. Everything went quickly and smoothly.
The potion that James was preparing was almost ready. The resulting potion genius planned to mix with the element X. A homogeneous mixture of such a substance would be ideal for filing a new invention. But after reviewing the potion's recipe and performing one analysis, Neutron noticed that one ingredient was missing. Without this ingredient, it is impossible to finish the preparation of the potion.
Jimmy was looking for solutions to the problem set before him. Neutron walked around in a circle in his lab for ten to fifteen minutes, looking for a solution. From all these thoughts, the guy was distracted only when Carl and Shin came down to him. Friends wondered why Jimmy was in the lab on such a beautiful spring day, because during these holidays there were so many things to do: go to Retroland, fly to the Moon, go on a field trip, visit, for example, Egypt, and much more.
"Hey, Jimmy! What are you doing?" Shin asked curiously, turning his attention to the small gray pot of potion. «You're making yourself some porridge? Congratulations, you've made a terrible cook " Estevez said, glancing inside the cauldron. «What's this stuff?»
"Shin, I'm brewing a potion to mix with element X. But it's not that easy," Jimmy explained worriedly.
«Why do you need all this?" Carl asked, peering into the cauldron with Shin.
"I'm making myself a high - quality fuel for one invention, I have a lot of work this summer, no adventures..." sighed Neutron.
"Jim, don't worry, we'll come and see you," Carl said.
"Jimmy, why do you say it's not so easy?" Estevez asked.
«You know, guys… To finish the potion, I need one more ingredient, maybe even two. I didn't take it into account right away.»
«And what is this ingredient?" What is it?" the guys asked at the same time.
"The venom of the Amazon snake and the venom of the scorpion will also do."
"Jim, buddy, where do you get the poison?" Will you buy it at the store? Weezer suggested.
«No. You know... Shin, Carl, I have a very good idea for our summer vacation.»
«Let me guess, will you pay for the resort? " Will you open your own beach? Are we going to Egypt again? the Mexican began to enumerate, pacing in circles around the lab.
"No, Shin, we're going to the Amazon.»
"To the Amazon?" Why don't we visit Mexico instead? Shin yelled, happily dancing to the Mexican beat.
"Yes, to the Amazon, or rather to the Amazon jungle," said Jimmy.
"Into the jungle?" Are you tired of living in civilization?! Estevez asked, surprised.
«No, we're going on an expedition to explore. I will also be able to obtain snake venom, which is only available in these places.»
«What's an expedition?" Carl asked, confused.
«Karl, an expedition is a journey with a specific purpose: scientific or military. Are you guys with me?» the genius asked his friends with a smile.
«You're also asking? We still have nothing to do this summer, don't we, Carl?» Estevez said softly.
"Yeah," Weezer said.
"Jim, we're with you," they said in unison.
«Great! Then I'll make you a list of what we need. You know, guys, I've always wanted to go there. Stories of these wet, dark jungles, misty valleys, and winding rivers fill my imagination. We're going deep into the Amazon jungle," Neutron said enthusiastically.
"Jimmy, do you want to call Cindy or Libby?"" Shin added before Carl could finish his sentence.
"With you?" the llama lover finished his sentence.
"Cindy? Take her with us?! No, it'll only distract me " Jimmy said, waving his arms.
"Don't forget Libby!" the Mexican interjected.
«Shin!» he glared at his friend.
"Jimmy, please!" Estevez pleaded. «Let's invite them, it'll be fun! And if they refuse, they'll still come with us.»
"Maybe you're right. I wouldn't go alone, most likely, so we'll take Cindy and Libby, " Neutron said decisively.
«Hooray! We're going to the Amazon! Wait!" said Karl. «Jim, where is it?" Carl asked loudly.
The guys left the lab, starting to prepare for the upcoming journey. Jimmy, as promised, wrote the list to Shin and Carl. He didn't like Shin's idea of inviting girls, but the three of them, guys, could hardly do without female company. At this point, Neutron was very lucky, Vortex and Folfax were walking together on the opposite side of the street. Libby was probably walking her friend home. Jimmy hurried over and stopped them.
"Hello, ladies," James began.
«Oh-oh-oh, hey, smartass, " Cindy said.
«I have a very important suggestion. Would you like to spend the first days of summer in South America?» the guy suggested, standing in front of the girls.
"South America, you say?" Liberty asked.
"Yes, Libby. The boys and I are going on an expedition to the Amazon jungle.»
"With you and those assholes in the jungle? I'd rather chew on a sock," Cindy joked. "An expedition?" but then she suddenly became interested.
«What are you going to explore?» Libby repeated her question.
"Cindy, I personally need one ingredient for the potion, which is only found in the Amazon jungle. Agree! With my intelligence, we won't be lost there. We'll have a large supply of food and special backpacks with all the equipment, " Jimmy explained, moving closer to Vortex.
«And how long do you plan to go on the expedition? Libby asked, puzzled.
"Exactly one week," Neutron told her.
"That's a good idea," said Vortex, smiling thoughtfully. "Neutron, can I contribute?" she asked.
"Of course, Cindy.»
"Then we're going!" Vortex decided seriously. — When do we leave?" another followed immediately .
"Cind, are you serious? One week! Jungle, no civilization, no electricity, just nature...» her friend reminded her nervously. «What are we going to tell our parents?" Libby asked, waving her hand.
"Don't worry, Libby. We will tell our parents that we are going camping for one week with the best guide, " the genius calmly explained the situation. «We have nothing to worry about, if you agree, then today we have agreed. We pack our backpacks, and tomorrow at dawn we will go to the Amazon jungle.»
"Agreed," the girls said, nodding their heads at Neutron.
Neutron immediately went about his business. The guy needed to prepare a bunch of equipment for the expedition for scientific study. The girls were also getting ready by then: Libby was picking up a small stack of CDs with music, and Cindy was choosing which hiking suit was best. The girls prepared in their own way, not at all like the boys. Cindy had brought some cosmetics and a first-aid kit to treat her wounds. Libby supported her friend's choice and followed her example.
In the morning, at dawn, the weather was fine outside. The sun was very bright. Jimmy was already standing outside the clubhouse, setting up the hover. A few minutes later, Karl and Shin approached the Neutron. The guys were wearing big backpacks, and they were wearing sunglasses. Jimmy also took a backpack, although he could have taken the hypercube with him, putting everything he needed in it.
But if he had taken it with him, the hypercube wouldn't have lasted a day. And all because of the fact that the Amazon jungle has a very humid climate. About ten minutes later, Cindy and Libby joined them.
"Everyone's here! Time to go, " Neutron said. The hovering car rose up and followed the exact south-eastern route to South America.
