Summer Break

Yellowstone Park.

Beverly was currently sitting in a bench whilst looking at a bowl full of... worms that seemed to still be alive, honestly she didn't know what was happening in Grandpa Max's mind to make him think that this was some sort of delicacy.

"Can we have something more simple, like a normal burger, and not something so... Exotic?" Beverly asked Max who slurped a worm with a smile on his face.

"Come one Beverly, it isn't that bad who knows you may like it." Max said with a cheery smile.

"Riiight, I have to be with Beverly on this one grandpa, is there something normal for dinner?" Gwen said in an agreement with Beverly.

"Guess that's something we can agree on." Beverly muttered to herself.

"Did you say something?" Gwen asked Beverly.

"Nothing Gwen." Beverly answered.

"Come now guys, I swear that you won't regret it one bit, after all this is what I was given when I was given when I was in the Air Force Academy." Max told his nieces, who looked at him with a doubtful look.

"I highly doubt that the military's air force academy would feed it's trainees something like marinated worms, unless you have a much stronger stomach that you average person." Beverly said as she proceeded to get up from her seat and walk towards the woods.

"Where are you going?" Gwen asked as she looked at her cousin.

"Going for a walk, I'll be back." Said Beverly as she started started walking away.

"Alright but don't do anything dangerous." Max told Beverly.

"Don't worry, grandpa." Beverly told Max as she entered the woods.

"That girl sure can make people worried." Max

"Don't worry about much grandpa." Gwen said as she got up from the bench.

"Where are you going?" Asked Max as he looked at Gwen who was leaving.

"I am going to bed earlier Grandpa." Gwen said as she entered the RV.

"What's going on with these kids?" Max wondered to himself, as he slurped in another worm.

With Beverly

9 Minutes

If Beverly had to describe the Summer break right now, it would be start with dull, uneventful, and boring.

Right now she was walking through the woods with a bored look one he face, whishing for anything to happen.

Then her thoughts drifted to her school life, and honestly that wasn't something she really wanted to deal with anytime soon, and at times she felt as she had to jump loops around Cash and J.T so she wouldn't be the target of their bullying and whatever pranks they'd pull.

"Should I tell mom to sign me up to a Martial Arts Dojo or some Mixed Martial Arts class?" Beverly thought to herself as she considered how useful those classes as a deterrent.

And then Beverly looked up to the starlit sky and saw a shooting star, and made a wish.

What that wish was we will never know.

And so Beverly continued her trek through the woods thinking how lucky she and everyone in the states were that the Honkai beasts being encountered in the States was a rare occurrence with few and far between and were often encountered in areas where little civilians, and at times she dreamed of joining Schicksal's Valkyrie group, though her mom and dad would disapprove of that idea.

"A girl is allowed to dream." Beverly thought to herself as she recalled an argument she had with her mom a month ago before Summer break started.

She then stopped in her tracks.

"Better go back now, Gwen and Grandpa might be worried." Beverly said to no one in particular and than made her way back to the RV she and Gwen affectionately started calling Rustbucket.

And as she was making her way back Beverly heard sirens blaring, signaling a Honkai Beast attack.

"Grandpa, Gwen." Beverly thought to herself as she stopped for a moment and recalled that Grandpa and Gwen were still at the camping sight and if that Honkai Beast attacked and encountered them first...

She began to run as fast as possible towards the RV, hoping that something didn't happen to them.

Back at the Rustbucket.

"What? What's going on? What's with the Sirens, is someone attacking?" Gwen asked as she got out of the bed due to the sudden blaring of the sirens.

"A Honkai Beast attack?" Max wondered as he to woke up looking around to see Gwen but didn't see inside the RV.

"Gwen where is your cousin?!" Max said with a worried tone.

"I don't know Grandpa, and a Honkai Beast all the way here?!" Asked Gwen not believing what she was hearing.

"Yes, now where's Beverly?" Max asked her.

"She..." Gwen was about to respond when Rust bucket began to shake, and froze in fear when through the front of the RV's window a Templar accompanied by two Chariot were flanking the RV.

With Beverly

"Gwen! Grandpa!" Beverly exclaimed as she ran pass a few bushes as fast as she could and she arrived at the front of the Rustbucket, to see it torn in half by what looked like a Templar about the size of a 2 story house.

The Templar along with the 2 chariots then turned around to see Beverly, who had frozen in place couldn't think of anything to do, she then began to look around to see a fallen tree branch.

Desperate, Beverly picked up the tree branch and used it as a makeshift weapon and in an act, that can be described as idiocy, she charged at the Honkai Beasts, and as she swung the stick it broke in half due to the durable hide of the honkai beast in front of her.

And she then looked at it with fear it smashed it's shield at her face and then her world went blank.

11 Years later

France

In a Hotel close to the Calais Eurotunnel

5:32 PM

For what had felt like hours Beverly woke up from her sleep inside her Hotel room, which for some reason was a triple room, where she had been sent to by Otto under the orders to meet up with Bianca and Rita that would be arriving around 6:00 PM.

Beverly got out of her bed and went to the room's bathroom and take a shower.

"It have been 6 years since Yellowstone happened with the deaths of several campers Gwen and Max Tennyson among them." Beverly thought to herself as she recalled those bitter memories, the feeling of powerlessness, she really hated herself for it .

Those hadn't been really easy for her aunt and uncle, especially for the former, and Beverly for her part couldn't bring herself to meet with them face to face after she woke from her 2 month coma.

A month later she and her parents met a blond man who introduced himself as Otto Apocalypse, she knew the guy was in charge of Schicksal.

Beverly accepted the offer with her mother being the loudest protest, though her father didn't encourage her nor did he try to stop her, as he made a quip that she was so like Max.

Flashback

"Hello Madam Tennyson, I am Otto Apocalypse, overseer of Schiksal I wished to talk to you for a proposal." Greeted the Blond overseer of Schicksal as he stood in front of the door, dressed in a frilly shirt, a blue coat, a pair of dark brown trousers and Shin-length brown boots.

"Sandra who is it?" Came her husband's voice from the kitchen.

"You may come in." Sandra, who was wearing a simple shirt, jeans and sneakers, said as she let Otto inside her house.

"Sandra why aren't you... Why are you here Sir?" Carl asked Otto as he looked at the overseer with a bit of caution.

"I came here as I your daughter has caught my interest." Otto said as he looked around the typical suburban house.

"What, did Beverly do?" Sandra asked Otto.

"Young Miss Beverly did nothing I am simply here to make an offer." Otto told when suddenly the house door was opened to show Beverly wearing football uniform and then turned he gaze towards Otto.

"Mom, whose this guy, and what's he doing here?" Beverly asked them as he looked at Otto.

"Ah, young Beverly, Allow me to Introduce myself I am..." Otto was about to introduce himself but was interrupted by Beverly.

"You are Otto Apocalypse, the Overseer of Schicksal, what do you want here?" Beverly asked Otto.

"Straight to the point, I see." Otto remarked as he looked at Beverly.

"Please take a seat, while I go and make some coffee." Sandra said as she pointed at the couch.

"Thank you madam." Otto said as he took a seat along with Carl and Beverly followed while Sandra went inside the kitchen to make coffee.

"So... what brings you all the way to the US?" Carl as Otto who had a smile on his face, and Beverly was really curious why the head-honcho of Schicksal wanted to meet her, for all the people knew she was just a lucky kid that survived a Honkai Beast Attack months ago.

"I feel really lucky." Beverly thought with a tinge of self loathing as she recalled the fact that she was the only survivor of that particular attack and that wasn't turned into a mindless zombie.

"Well Mr. Tennyson, the reason why I arrived all the way to the United States is that your daughter has caught my interest, and I have come to offer her an invitation to join Schicksal." Otto explained causing Carl and Beverly to look at the overseer with surprise written on their face.

"Why?" Beverly simply asked the Overseer who merely chuckled.

"Why, indeed. To simply put you have garnered the interest of our organization, and we would that you joined us." Otto said.

"But what makes my daughter so special to have garnered the attention of Schicksal and it's overseer?" Carl asked as Sandra entered the living with a tray of coffee on it and gave Otto a cup.

"Thank you." Otto said as he grabbed the mug and took a sip off of the mug.

"I have to say Mrs. Tennyson this is the best coffee I've had in a while." Otto complimented.

"Thank you." Sandra said as she took a seat next to her husband.

"Now the reason why I wish that Beverly join Schicksal is because she had show a great amount of Honkai energy resistance. You see when that Templar along with the Chariots attacked the camp sight where you daughter along with her cousin and grandfather were located they had a higher than average Honkai Energy, and it would have been enough to turn a person into a walking corpse." Otto explained.

"And this caught your organization's interest?" Sandra asked

"It is also the matter that your daughter has also manifested a Natural Stigmata, see... Natural Stigmata are the genetic imprint of past possessors, with the bonus of enhanced physical capabilities, as such with this in mind I have come here with the offer of young Beverly to join Schicksal, so that she can put those abilities to good use?" Otto asked Beverly, when all of a sudden Sandra interjected.

"Hold on just a moment, my daughter is still to young for this sort of thing, and besides how do you that she possesses this... Stigmata thing?!" Sandra asked Otto, who for his part was silent.

"I understand your concern Mrs. Tennyson, I to would be concerned for my child if she were placed in a dangerous position, however I can guarantee you that You Beverly won't be sent on dangerous mission until she has finished proper training and several courses that include scientific fields, history, and naturally combat, and as to how i know she possess a Stigmata, well the hospital that she was treated in is funded by Schicksal, which also serves as double duty as spotting for new recruits." Otto explained.

"You should be aware that this is an invasion of privacy, and I would have you sued and besides how do we know that our our daughter's life won't be endangered while she at your "Academy"?!" Sandra asked Otto, who finished the coffee in the mug with a calm expression on his face.

"Madam you should be aware that Schicksal is an international organization with a seat in the Unite Nations security council and we have explicit permission from the US government to look for potential recruits, and I can and will guarantee you that your daughter will be safe, the training will be done under the supervision of well trained and veteran Schicksal operatives And the courses that will be provided to her will more than help her in the future if she wishes to retire from active service and apply for a Job outside of Schicksal. Other than that I will leave that decision up to you, it is an open offer and take all the time you need to think it through, and here's my card with the phone number, below." Otto said as he brought out a card that had the Schicksal coat of Arms in front of it along with the phone number below it.

"Thank you for your time Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson, though I may have to leave now I do have to say that you make a lovely Coffee Madam, Have a Nice day." Otto said as he walked outside of the door.

"Well... That was something." Beverly commented as she saw the man walking out of the house.

Flashback ending

Back at the Hotel

5:54 PM

Now Beverly, who had her hair tied in a short pony tail, was wearing a green shirt, with a pair jeans and a pair of boots , was at the Hotel's dining area where she had a plate with a single Croque monsieur, and a coffee mug.

"Now I'll have to wait for Bianca and Rita to arrive." Beverly thought to herself as she took a seat and opened her phone, went to contacts and pressed on the letters "Mom".

And the phone began to ring.

Over the US

11:54 AM

Sandra, who was wearing a red t-shirt, jeans ad a pair of black sneakers, was at the local Walmart and waiting in a line, when all of a sudden the phone began to ring, and when she saw who was calling she saw Beverley's Name in front of the screen.

"Hey Beverly? How are you doing?" Sandra asked her daughter.

"Hello mom, I am doing fine, right now I am eating breakfast at a Hotel close to the Eurotunnel." Beverly replied over the phone.

"So how's work been?" Sandra asked her.

"So far, it has been good along with the pay, and right now, and as I said earlier I, and am waiting for work partners. What about you guys how have things been lately?" Beverly told her before she asked Sandra how thing's have been lately.

"Well, things so far have been good and Frank and Natalie are expecting another child." Sandra told Beverly, and a pregnant silent loomed as Beverly didn't reply.

"Have they decided on the name?" Beverly asked as she finally replied.

"Well, Frank said if it were a boy they'd name him Max, and if it were a Girl..." Sandra was about to say.

"Gwen." Beverly said as she interrupted her mother.

"Yes, how did you know, did Frank and Natalie tell you?" Sandra asked.

"Just call it a guess that's all." Beverly said as she let out a tired sigh.

"Is there something wrong dear?" Sandra asked Beverly.

"It's nothing mom, I've gotta go, talk later, and tell uncle Gordon I said Hi. Bye." Beverly said as she closed the phone.

"Alright, good bye." Sandra said a Beverly closed the phone, and she looked at it with a concerned look.

"Hope you are alright." Sandra said hoping that Beverly would be alright.

Back in France

Beverly put her phone down at the table and began to chew down on her Croque Monsieur.

"My, my it'd appear that Mrs. Tennyson is really hungry." Came a voice that Beverly was eerily familiar with, having worked with the owner of said voice.

Beverly looked up from her meal as she looked up at the young woman in front her about her age, with light honey blonde hair, with reddish pink eyes which the left one was covered by said hair, a headband on top of her head, and was dressed in a white frilly shirt with a black bow tied in front of it and a pink rose, along with a black skirt, stocking, and a pair of black boots.

"Hello Rita, you surely arrived earlier that Otto told me, though where's Bianca?" Beverly said as she took notice of the missing S-rank Valkyrie.

"Well, Master Durandal will take some time as she is currently taking the luge to our room, we will be spending the night here." Rita said.

"Alright, though why are you still on your feet? Take a seat." Beverly said as she extended her arm at the chair in front of her.

"Thank you, Madam Beverly." Rita said as she took her seat in front of the Beverly.

"Rita how many times have I told you to just call me Beverly." Beverly asked Rita, tired of the latter being so formal all the time.

"Madam by now you should be well aware that a proper English maid is as good as her grace as she's with her manners." Rita told Beverly.

"You really need to loosen up when you are not in work." Beverly retorted.

"Well... what does our esteemed Overseer want this time?" Asked Beverly.

"I was assigned to a mission in order to find the whereabouts of the 2nd Devine Key, which Lord Otto believes to be in England, he also said that you would be joining." Rita explained.

"Oh? And what about the esteemed commander of the Immortal Blades?" Beverly asked Rita.

"Well Lord Otto told Master Durandal that this would be a vacation break for her." Rita answered.

"Huh, so DooDoo finally got some rest, though tell me was she ordered to take these vacation or she just took it?" Beverly asked again causing Rita to chuckle at the nickname Beverly had given Bianca when they were still fresh recruits.

"No actually Mrs. Durandal actually requested the vacation herself, due to the Overseer making it as he reward." Rita said.

"Guess she finally decided to take a break." Beverly said.

"Indeed." Rita.

"Hello Beverly." Came a voice that caused Beverly up at a girl that was deceptively older than her age said otherwise has a fair complexion, light blue eyes, and strawberry blond hair that fades into a light pink at the ends.

She was wearing a short black jacket, underneath it was a simple T-shirt tied to her left, a black skirt that was being held by a brown belt, and a pair of black boots.

"Hello Bianca, how have you been?" Beverly asked the Tope Ranked Schicksal Valkyrie.

"Things have been good, and what about you why are you doing all the way to Calais?" Bianca asked Beverly, wondering why she was all the way here.

"Well, didn't our esteemed overseer told you that I would be coming along with you to provide Rita with support on her task while you enjoy you vacation?" Beverly asked her.

"No unfortunately, Lord Otto failed to make mention of that." Bianca replied.

"So... when will we be departing for Jolly 'ol England?" Asked Beverly.

"The following morning." Rita told her.

"Then it is settled, we will go to England at At 7:00 AM." Beverley, said as she took a bite off of her Croque Monsieur.

"As you say Beverly." Bianca said as Beverly recalled how she joined Schicksal 11 years ago.

Flashback

Bellwood Cemetery.

2005

The following day after Otto's visit.

"Hey guys, how... how've you been?" Beverly asked in a low tone as she stood in front of two tombstones with the names Gwen and Max Tennyson written in front of them.

"So... the other day the Overseer of Schicksal arrived and... he made an offer for me to sign up and mom was a bit hysterical. I don't know what to do." Beverly said as she sat in front of the tombstones.

"I don't know what I should be doing now, I feel so useless." Beverly said as she hugged her legs.

"What should I do now?" Beverly asked when all of a sudden a hand was on her shoulder, causing the girl to look up and see who it was.

"Dad?" Beverly asked when she saw her father looking at her.

"Hey kiddo." Carl said as he sat close to his daughter who he proceeded to hug.

"What should I do?" Beverly asked her father, who simply looked at her then at the tombstones in front of them.

"Honestly I don't know Beverly." Her father responded as he turned his gaze towards his daughter. "However, even though I wouldn't encourage you to join Schicksal, I can't do anything to stop you from joining, if anything you are just like you grandfather when he was younger." Carl told his daughter.

"Really?" Beverly asked Carl.

"From the stories he told us when he was younger and met Mom, so yeah, I can see a lot of Dad in you, though you have to understand that if Sandra and I tried to stop you would just make make you resentful of us as such I won't be stopping you from applying to Schicksal, but know this, that you will always be my little girl, and you will have my support no matter what." Carl said as he kissed the top of her head.

"Thanks dad." Beverly said as she hugged her dad who returned the gesture.

"No problem kiddo, now come, Sandra might have something good for lunch." Carl said as he got on his feet.

"Alright dad." Said Beverly as she went and picked her bicycle, and Carl stood for a moment and looked over at Max's grave.

"She sure a lot like you dad, hope you are in peace, good bye." Carl said as he followed his daughter.

France

"So we will be sharing a room?" Asked Beverly as she looked at the luggages that are at around the room.

"That's what the Overseer said, didn't he tell you?" Bianca asked Beverly.

"No he actually didn't tell me anything about me sharing a room." Beverly answered.

"But you should have guessed that this room would be occupied by two more people." Rita said in a lecturing manner.

"Yes Rita, you are right." Beverly said as she slammed to her bed.

"Something wrong Beverly?" Bianca asked the woman.

"No honestly, it's that I am having this sense of foreboding as if something bad is going to happen." Beverly responded.

"Well Master Beverly, you don't have to be all doom and gloom, we have plenty of that once we go back to work and defend humanity with our lives." Rita told Beverly, trying lift the sudden air of dread inside the room.

"Rita's right, come on Beverly we are hitting the Gym." Bianca said as she picked up her gym clothing off of her luggage bag and went inside the bathroom to change.

"Good grief, can't she take a break for once?" Beverly wondered as she to moved to pick up her Gym clothing.

"Well, you know how hard working Master Durandal is don't you Arondight?" Asked Rita asked Beverly as she referred to the woman by her operative name.

"Yeah, Yeah." Beverly simply responded as she got up and picked her gym clothing and waited for Bianca to come out.
