Chapter 1 - JAAN KE BHI ANJAAN
" Sirf aur Sirf jaydaat ke liye 2 khoon kiye hai tumne...Tumhe toh fast hi hogi !" ACP Pradyumna said to the culprit. And after that it the usual. The culprit begging and crying and crying and begging for sympathy. But there was nothing in store for guys like this , Right ? Though ACP was a man with big heart he never offered sympathy to criminals. And same was the case with his juniors Daya and Abhijeet. They were the kindest humans beings perhaps anyone had ever seen. But for criminals they were no good.
Daya ne toh apna duniya bhar ka gussa kisi mujrim ko thappad lagate hue utarna hai.
A long day had come to an end and so had the case. All the officers heaved a sigh of relief. Once the criminal was taken by the police subordinates , Fredricks was back on his phone probably calling his wife. " Darling , Aajka dinner bahar krenge !" Fredricks said. And this triggered a laugh amongst the other officers. " Lagta hai Freddy sir , Abhi tak apni biwi ko mana rahe hai. Ek mahine pahile janamdin bhule the tabse !" Vivek said. And all the officers laughed again. " Shadi ka laddoo vivek ! Shadi ka laddoo !" Abhijeet said as they all engrossed in packing their belongings. Everyone was in dire need of rest and now bed sounded probably a good idea.
ACP sir was still in his cabin while Purvi , Vivek and Fredricks were involved in the smaller jokes. Daya was almost on the verge of leaving and asking the permission for same from ACP sir when he suddenly heard his friend's voice, " Arey Daya !"
" Haa Abhijeet , bolo !" Daya said as he turned around. " Suna hai ek bohot Achcha restaurant khula hai apne ghar ke pass. Agar free honge toh dinner pe chale ?". Abhijeet said with a smile. Daya thought about it for a second but then politely said, " Boss aaj nahi kal chalte hai ! Aaj jara kaka ko milne jana hai !" Daya said in an apologetic manner. " Kya hua Daya ? Kuch serious hai kya ?" Abhijeet asked in a serious tone. Daya laughed and brushed it off. " Nahi nahi boss ! Tumne toh apni duty pata hai ! Waqt hi nikal para hoon unke liye !" Daya said putting a little amount of pressure on the file that he had in his hand. Abhijeet just smiled and let the matter go.
( Flashback )
" Ek Parivaar Anathashram " The board read. A small kid with a sad face entered it. He wasn't looking straight. Just walking as if something had totally set his mood off. The kid must be in 6th standard. " Are agye tum ? Chalo fresh ho jao. Bhook lagi hogi. Hai na ?" A lady clad in a simple white saree came near him and said. The kid ignored her too. This is starnge , the lady thought to herself. Maybe something happened at school. Maybe he had a fight with his best friend. She pacified herself and went straight to the kitchen to get the kid some lunch nonetheless.
The kid on other hand reached his room. He saw the condition of it. 4-5 low quality mattress were lying on the floor covered with some old bedsheets. The bedsheets they had gotten as a donation last week in diwali. He went near his mattress and sat down. The room well wasn't that well furnished. Of course it wasn't going to be. It was a small orphanage that perhaps relied on donations altogether. The paint was off in some corners of wall. The doors would creek on every opening and closing and the ceiling , let's not get started about that.
The kid then turned around and looked at his trunk. This was the only box that he could proudly say was his. Otherwise there were a whole lot of things that they had to share in an orphanage. Books , clothes, toys were the beginning of them. He opened the box with a smile. The first thing he saw was that a diary. He used to writes all his wishes in it. But the favourite thing popped next. It was a police officers cap. The one kinda used in some fancy dress competion. He didn't know how he got hold of that but just a few months back someone had donated big amount of toys to the organisation. It was lying there probably stained and crooked. The moment he had found it he had never left hold of it. He cleaned it and kept it as his best possession. Perhaps that's where the dream of becoming a police officer came into being. The kid was still in his own when the lady came back.
" Garma garam bhindi hai aaj ! Jaise Daya ko pasand hai." She said in a very loving voice. The kids eyes got wider on hearing that. But then again , immediately some sadness washed over his face. The lady then kept the plate on the table nearby and sat down besides him. " Kya hua aaj mere bachche ko ?" She asked very patiently. The kid the turned towards her and said , " Aapko pata hai kaki mere doston ne mujhse Kya kaha ?". The lady smiled and asked with curiosity, " Kya ?". " Woh Keh rahe the ki jo bacche orphanage me rehte hai unse koi pyar nahi karta ! Unka apna koi nahi rehta !" The kid said with sad smile. The lady gave a sheepish smile because she knew this was not new for a kid who kinda lives in an orphanage.
" Toh aapne Kya kaha ?" She asked. " Maine kaha , ye jhut hai...Waha mere kaka aur kaki rehte hai. Woh mujhse bohot pyar krte hai." The said again. " Par woh mane hi nahi. Keh rahe the ki agar tujhe tere kaka kaki sachche mummy papa ki tarah pyar krte toh tujhe woh achche achche kapde , khilaune dilate !" He continued. He was going to tell more when suddenly a man entered into the room.
" Daya ! Aaj apne school me kiya !" The man said. He was wearing a plane white colored cotten pant with light blue colored shirt. As soon as Daya heard the question he put his head down. The lady then smiled and motioned the man to hear the kid's story. The kid then recited the whole story that he had just told his amma. The man also sath down now and said , " Toh unhone bola ki aapke pass khilaune nahi ! Toh fir ?"
Daya looked down a little embarrassed and said , " Waise baba aapne bola tha na ki jo galat kaam krte hai unhe saja milni chahiye !". The man looked a little confused and said , " Haa bilkul !". Daya smiled and got up from his place. With a huge amount of pride on his face he said , " Toh bas maine unhe mukka maar diya ! Jaise bade hoke bilkul Inspector Daya choro ko marega !". After saying that Daya ran away literally at the speed of light.
( Present )
Daya laughed at the memory. His kaka and kaki were the only family he knew for a long period of time. Daya would literally do anything for them. Coz they had done everything for him. Whatever they could. He surely loved to beat some bad people. It was his childhood dream to join the forces. And he was quite successful. He had gotten a good reputation in his job. Of course he had worked for it. But more than the reputation and respect he got his second family at work. ACP Pradyumna , Abhijeet , Dr. Salunkhe, Tarika they were all his family now. He had been the happiest the day when Abhijeet married Tarika. Daya treated him like is elder brother.
The car engine died as soon as Daya reached the destination. He took a deep breathe before opening the door. He was surely going to be bombarded with questions as soon as his kaki opened the door. He knew that now. " Are kaha tha ? Kitne din ho gye ? Koi khabar bhi nahi ! Tu thik toh hai na ? And all that stuff. Soon when he was ready , Daya opened the door and stepped out. The weather today was fantastic. It was late evening. So the colors from the sky had started to drain. A slight wind was rustling just enough to make the dried leave move. The air was silent and restful however it still smelled of calmed stillness.
Daya looked in the side view mirror and straightened his hair a little with his hands. He was a handsome guy overall. A height of good 6.2". Well built , muscular . And to accompany that he had this good looks. His kind and compassionate nature along with it was a dead give away. In his Confident steps he walked towards the main door.
As soon as Daya neared the door , a sense of serenity washed over him. This was his place where he could leave Inspector Daya behind. And just be Daya , no matter for how much short period of time. Daya pressed the doorbell and waited for an answer. An old women answered. And she was an old woman indeed. She had this frail, loosened and wrinkled skin. Her forehead was furrowed with a little worry and her physical appearance was that of a slight hunchback. Not too much but her back stooped just enough to make it realize. Daya smiled on noticing the familiar face. He bent down to touch his elderly feet. Just then in mid way , the lady's hands held his shoulder and stopped him from doing so.
" Ye kya kar rahe ho Daya, Abhi bade ho gye ho tum !" She said. Daya smiled a little and in spite of the littlest resistance the weak lady could offer against this strong muscular man , Daya touched her feet anyway. " Kaisi hai kaki ?" Daya asked with his head still down. A small tear rolled down her cheeks. And when Daya got up she hugged Daya tightly. " Mujhe toh laga aaj bhi tujhe Waqt pe koi kaam ajayga !" The lady said in teary voiced.
Daya felt a little guilty on hearing that. The past months had been very difficult. Tough cases were reported one after another. He had gotten so busy that sometime he'd even skip meals. And when finally most of the were solved and he had some free time , he had taken a bullet to his left hand. And hence his visit to this house was postponed more than anyone could anticipate. He didn't want his kaka to see him in a wounded condition. " Galti ho gyi kaki. Maaf krde !" Daya said with utmost politeness. And when these two people were still deep in their conversation, they hear a loud baritone voice.
" Are Sr. Inspector Daya , Mujrimo ko thappad marne me itna kya vast ho gye ki humari yaad bhi nahi !" This deep, masculine voice surrounded the house like an echo. And on seeing his fatherly figure, Daya immediately ran towards same and touched his feet too. " Nahi kaka aisa nahi hai!" Daya said. And within moments all the three of them had relaxed.
Jaise ki sare gile shikwe ekdum se gayab ho gye.
The room was filled with laughter, some jokes and remebring the old days. Sometimes kaka would bring out some news paper cutting that had mentioned Daya's bravery. And that would make both of them so proud. Unknown to them the outside weather had taken a turn for worse.
The wind was howling like something in a horror movie. Even the street lights had given out owing to the bad weather. It was now completely dark. The rain started not slowly but thick and eventually it was even difficult to see straight. How ever inside it was totally opposite. Calm and serene and smiling. They were all so into the conversation that all of them were suddenly shocked on something entering the living room.
" Kaki , ye Mumbai ki barish toh bilkul bhi nahi badli yaar!" A girl came shouting and barging through the door. She was wearing a baby pink color salwar set. By the looks of it she had gotten herself wet. Small droplets of water were seen on her hands and face. Her hair was damp and had stuck together. Her feet along with a little length of dress above her ankles were seen in dark colors. Perhaps she had walked through waters. But inspite of this , she had this beautiful simplicity attached to her personality. Her eyes they radiated brightness. Her walk showed that she walked in with a confidence of 20 years old.
Daya raised his eyebrows a little , as he didn't know what was going on. He neither knew who the girl was nor he knew what she was doing here. But then he slightly shifted the curtains of the window that was just besides him. The weather had indeed changed. The blue skies had comoletey shifted to dark grey and it was raining fiercely.
" Arey aa gyi beta tum ? Par kitni bheeg gyi ! Chalo upar chalte hai !" Kaki said to the girl. The girl resisted that and said , " Nahi kaki , bas ye dawai layi thi. Abhi nikalti hoon. Meri taxi bahar khadi hai. " The girl then handed a big bag of different kind of medicines. " Are itte kharab mausam ne kaise kya jaogi ? Mumkin hi nahi. Hum nahi bhejenge humari beti ko." Kaka said. Daya was shocked to listen the words , ' Humari beti '. Kaka then looked towards Daya and said , " Daya jara bahar jake taxi ki chutti krwa ke aao !" Now these words shocked the girl , specially the name of the man, ' Daya.'
" So this is Daya !" The girl thought to herself. Daya was still sitting on the couch not moving. " Nahi kaka, iski jarurat nahi. Mujhe kal subah kaam pe bhi jana hai. Nikalna hi hoga." The girl said. Finally after few moments Daya came to senses and said , " Nahi. Kaka thik Keh rahe ! Aise mausam me bahar nikalna thik nahi. Thode der baad me chod dunga !" Daya said with a deep baritone voice. Now getting up from his place he went outside to relieve the taxi standing in front of the house.
" Koi meri sunta kyu nahi ?" The girl said. " Shreya ! Tum bhi na itti choti choti chizo ke liye zidd krogi toh aisa hi hoga na. Jaa pehle upar jaa ! Me khana lagati hoon." Kaki said to her. Shreya went upstairs to dry herself a little bit stomping her feet. Daya on the otherhand came inside after settling the taxi bills. " Agye tum ! Pehchana woh kaun hai ?" Kaka asked smiling. " Bilkul nahi pehchana hoga. Pata hai mujhe !" Amma said from the kitchen. Kaka laughed and then said , " Are buddhu, Woh Shreya hai Shreya. Humare sath rehti thi. Choti si , Din bhar apna sir kisi kitaab me gadhaye rakhti thi !" Baba said asking Daya to remember. Daya then pressurized into remembering all that things and then finally the bulb lightened. In the mean time , Shreya was walking down the stairs.
" Achcha woh !" Daya said putting his hand at his waist level signifying that how small she was when he last saw her. " Moti si , Nakchidi aur ekdum Jhagdalu !" Daya said again laughing at the memories. Shreya was astonished on hearing such things about her. She wasn't nakchidi and jhagdalu. And definitely she wasn't that " moti" too. Shreya then came down and Daya realized that probably he didn't have the right choice of words. She walked by him saying , " Moti nahi thi ! Chubby thi !". Daya laughed internally sensing that , " She hadn't changed , even a little !"
After a few minutes the dinner table was set. " Dum aloo !" Shreya exclaimed on seeing her favourite things. Her eyes sparked at the thought of warm home cooked meals. " Kya matlab Dum Aloo ! Aaj toh bhindi honi chahiye !" Daya said shocked looking at kaki. Shreya then made a teasing face towards Daya. " Hai. Bhindi bhi hai." Amma said keeping the fried vegetable in front of Daya. " Dekha ?" Daya said to Shreya.
Shreya was getting irritated by the minute. She wasn't liking this at all. It was as if a competion between Daya and her. She didn't know what amma saw in Daya that she had been blabbering about him to her for a month now.
Daya aisa hai. Daya waisa hai. Daya ko ye bohot pasand hai. Daya ko ye bilkul nahi pasand. Daya ki naukri bohot izzatdar hai. Uske humesha paper me tasveer ati rehti hai. Daya bohot namra swabhav ka hai.
And now after actually meeting Daya, he had turned to be exactly opposite. She then took a deep breathe and said to herself.
Kaisa bhi ho Daya, mujhe kya !
Thinking this she sat in place and all of them started having dinner.
" Toh Shreya ! Itte saalon baad Mumbai me kaise ?" Daya asked. Shreya was about to answer when kaka cut her and said , " Dactarni ban gyi hai humari bitiyaan ! Dactarni". Pride was clearly visible in his eyes. " Kisne socha tha ki Daya itta bada afsar ban jayga aur tum itni kam umar me dactar. Although Shreya thought that it was very normal now-a-days to become a "dactar" but she still let the old couple enjoy their pride. The conversation went on about all the where abouts untill then whole dinner was finished.
" Shreya jara yaha ake meri madat krna !" Kaka said calling Shreya towards him. In the mean time unknown to the two young people he had managed to talk to his old lady just with eyes and she had nodded assertively. And now only Daya and kaki were in kitchen. She was cleaning the kitchen platform with some wet clothe with her back towards Daya.
Daya suddenly walked behind her with the bag of medicines reading the names of rach one of them. " Ye kiski goliyaan hai kaki ? Aur itti sari kyu mangavi ?" Daya asked with a serious tone. Her hands that were working suddenly stopped where they were. She then smiled and in order to change the topic said , " Are woh sab chod , ye bata apni purani dost se milkar Kaisa laga ?"
" Thik laga !" Daya said with very emotionless face. It was as if there was nothing special about their meet. He didn't know when again they'll meet. So he was very casual about it. " Kya karu in dono ka ?" Amma said to herself. " Yeh mere sawal ka toh jawab nahi hai na kaki !" Daya asked again with patience. " Blood pressure shoot ho gya tha. Toh kaka chakkar ake gir gye the !" Shreya's voice came from behind. She was drinking water from the refrigerator. " Shreya !" Kaki said irritatingly. She just didn't want Daya to worry about it. Shreya just shrugged her shoulder. " Kya ?? Mujhe kisine btaya kyu nahi ? Humesha Dr. Sharma phone bhi toh krte hai aisa kuch hua toh. Iss baar koi fone kyu nahi aya. Aapne bhi kuch nahi btaya kaki !" Daya asked a little hurt.
Shreyas pursed her lips and said , " Kiya tha phone. Aapne uthaya nahi !". This angered Daya a little bit. He ran his hands through his hair to calm himself down. " Kaki !" Daya said. She knew that this meant he wanted to talk to her alone. " Shreya...jara dekho kaka ne dawai li ki nahi !" Amma told her. Shreya then took the medicines from Daya's hand almost angrily and left the kitchen.
Daya then looked towards her and raised his eyebrows. The old lady took a deep breathe and moved towards Daya , " Achcha chal mere sath baith tu !". Then both of them moved towards the dining area. " Ab suno tum !" She said directly looking into Daya's eyes. " Ab kabhi na kabhi toh badhti umar tabiyat me nazar ayegi na beta !" She said very lovingly. " Maine nahi uthaya to Abhijeet ko kar dete !" Daya said calmly. " Krne wale the. Par Shreya ne sabhi sambhal liya. Aur tab tumhara koi bohot bada case chal raha tha. TV pe dekh rahe the toh socha rehne dete hai !". Kaki said smiling. " Chal thik hai. Iss baar teri baat Maan li ! Lekin age se nahi manunga !" Daya said smiling.
" Waise Shreya kaise lagi tujhe ?" Kaki finally asked. " Kaisi lagi matlab ? Thik hai..achhi hai...Me samjha nahi tujhe kya bolna hai ?" Daya asked his adoptive mother. He said that in very bland tone. " Pata hai bohot bade college se apne dactari ki degree puri ki usne. Aur har time first number lati thi meri beti !" kaki said , ekdum garv krke. Daya smiled on hearing that. " Achchi baat hai. Kabhi kabhi sochta hu na kaki me..ki agar tu , kaka meri zindagi me nahi ate toh kya kar raha hota me !" Daya said remembering his childhood days. " Woh toh hai itte bade sheher me akele rehna bohot mushkil baat hai !" She said and then took a pause. She continued , " Tujhe pata hai Shreya bhi akeli rehti hai. Kabhi kabhi darr lagta hai. Ekto Abhi nayi nayi ayi hai Mumbai me. Har baar fikar se rehti hai uski !". Daya literally laughed at that.
" Nayi kaha hai kaki ? Pura Bachpan uska ye sheher me gujra hai. Aur darne ki kya baad. Ek Badi jimmedar ladki hai. Apna khayal khud rakh sakti hai." Daya said. " Badi kaha hai...25 ki toh hai bichari. Aur mujhe tar darr lagta hai aur laga hi rahega." Kaki said frowning a little.
Daya smiled at his mother's childishness. " Chal thik hai. Chotisi bachchi hai teri Shreya ! Bas ab khush ?" Daya asked. She smiled. " Achcha tu ek kaam krega ? " Amma said looking towards Daya. " Haa bol na !" Daya replied. " Shreya ka dost banke rehna. Usko kabhi aisa nahi lagna chahiye ki woh itte bade sheher me akeli hai !"
Daya suddenly was like why was everything today revolving around Shreya. " kaki , Aaj ho kya gya hai tujhe ? Shreya ki kuch jyada hi chinta sata rahi hai tujhe aisa lag raha !" Daya said finally. " Jab tak ek ladki ki shadi nahi ho jati , tabtak toh chinta rehti hi hai. Bas ek Achcha ladka mil jaye. Fir kuch nahi !" She said looking towards Daya intently. As if all the answers of her questions were sitting there right in front of her. Even now , Daya didn't understood with what intention his mother was talking to him about Shreya. He just said , " Chal thik hai , use mera number de dena. Aur kuch lage toh call krne bolna. Ab khush ??" Amma smiled and said, " Khoob Khush !" Amma smiled , her smile clearly visible in her eyes.
Just then Daya's phone rang. It was Abhijeet. " Haan bolo Abhijeet !" Daya said and continued the conversation. " Thik hai me adhe ghante me pohochta hu. Haa. Address bhejdo mujhe !" Daya said as he kept the phone. He then looked towards his mother and said , " Mujhe nikalna hoga. Shreya ko bulao. Jate jate Chod deta hoon." Daya said. " Tu khud hi kyu nahi bula leta. Upar baba ke sath hongi unke kamre me !".
Daya finally got up from his chair and started going upstairs. As soon as he reached the bedroom, he heard Shreya's voice. It was a melody in itself. " Jyada ladke doctor toh nahi hai na tere aspataal me ?" Kaka asked. Daya laughed a little inside. " Nahi kaka !" Shreya said very calmy. " Tere boss ko bol ki night duty na lagaya kare teri. Aur agar teri nahi Maan raha toh mujhe baat krne lagaya kar !" Kaka said again concerned. Before Shreya was caught in any tight situation , Daya interfered. He came and knocked on the open door. That were his manners. He always...always asked for permission. No matter what. After Daya slightly entered the room , he was shocked to see that his father was sitting in his rocking chair while Shreya was sitting on the floor massaging his legs. In Shreya's generation, he had hardly seen anyone so humble and so full of love and compassion. He was literally taken aback. " Ji ?" Shreya asked on seeing Daya knocking. Shreya's voice bought back Daya and he said , " Woh Shreya hume nikalna hoga. Mujhe case ke silsile me Bulaya hai office me toh..." Daya said and took a long pause. " So..let's leave !" He said completing the sentence. Shreya looked towards kaka as if to ask for permission. " Jaa beta. Jyada der mat kar. Waise bhi bohot Raat ho chuki hai." Baba said after caressing her head lovingly. Shreya got up from the floor and moved towards washroom to get her things. Daya then came near kaka. " Chalta hu . Apna khayal rakhiyega !" Daya said after touching his feet.
Shreya came back after taking her bag and looked towards Daya. " Chale ?" She asked. Daya nodded and both of them downstairs. Shreya hugged her kaki. As soon as Shreya opened the door , it was still dark outside. And it was still raining. And there were still thunderstorms. She took a deep breathe. Years had passed but she was still scared of rains and thunderstorms. She looked behind and saw Daya coming towards the door. His style of walking , his confidence just amused Shreya. He then came immediately behind her and opened the door wide.
" Come on!" He said and he opened an umbrella.
He went down 2 steps and waited for Shreya to join him. Cause they had only one umbrella. Shreya walked down and both of them started proceeding towards his car.
Since the rains were pouring like hell , Shreya was again getting wet from her left side. After a few moments Daya notice that and with his left hand he brought Shreya a closer to him. This movement even caused Daya to get exposed to rain. Shreya looked at Daya and he appeared very normal. Maybe he was a gentle man. They both reached her side of door and Daya opened it for her. After Shreya had completely sat inside the car , Daya went towards the other side and sat in the driver's seat. And within few moments they were on their way home.
Although Shreya could have easily left using some other taxi or bus but she was thankfully to Daya that he offered to drive her home. Travelling alone in strong was a big no to her.
Shreya looked outside through the window at the city. The whole city moved too fast for her from the window. Owing to the windy weather and her wet clothes , Shreya had started feeling cold now. She crossed her hands and rubbed her palms to generate some heat. Daya noticed that from the side view and started the seat heater. Soon Shreya felt a little warm and turned towards Daya. " Thank you !" She said in an innocent voice. Daya just smiled.
The next minutes were spent in silence. Shreya looking outside the window and unknown to her Daya looking towards her. Somehow she looked beautiful to him today. Although she didn't have any make up on. Maybe this wasn't her best appearance but there was something about her that made Daya look at her and admire her. Maybe her simplicity, her politeness or whatever. They had almost covered half distance to Shreya's home when Daya decided to break the silence.
" Tum Abhi bhi bilkul nahi badli !" Daya said looking at her and then again focusing on the road. Shreya then looked towards him and asked , " Matlab ?". " Bachpan me bhi itta hi ghabrati thi Abhi bhi utta hi ghabrati ho !" Daya said finally making her blush to the roots. Shreya then looked downwards. She couldn't believe that he remembered how she used to get scared when the lightening striked. But then she was acting very normal. Under normal circumstances no one ,I repeat no one could have guessed from her appearance that was she was shit scared. But Daya did. Was he that observant ??
" Aap bhi bilkul nahi badle !" Shreya said finally. " Aap Bachpan me bhi kafi jimmedari lete the. Abhi bhi lete ho !" Shreya said. Daya didn't understand. So he asked, " Matlab ?".
Shreya smiled and again looked outside the window , " Woh bas kaki batate rehti hai ki aapne Unka itta khayal rakha. Bas uss wajahse !" Daya looked down and nodded his head. " Ye kaki bhi na...!" He then took a pause and said , " Waise uss din kaka ki tabiyat kharab hone par sambhalne ke liye thank you !" Daya said. Shreya was shocked on hearing that. " Thank you ki jarurat nahi. Mere bhi maa baba hai woh !" Shreya said.
After a few moments, they reached Shreya's house. Shreya got out from the car and said , " Thank you!" . Daya just smiled and stayed there. Shreya raised her eyebrows as if asking why he's still there. Daya then realized and said , " Koi boyfriend toh nahi par ek CID inspector hu. Jab tak ghar ke darwaze tak safely nahi pohochogi tabtk tasalli ke sath nahi niklunga. Ghar jao aur balcony se wave krdo ekbar." Well..this was another gentleman behaviour, Shreya just thought to herself. She just smiled and went inside the apartment building.
And within no time Daya could see her standing on the balcony waving at him. Daya appreciated that and left for his case.
( kaki's home )
" Baat ki Daya se ?" Kakaji asked his wife. " Hmm...!" She replied. She took a long pause and then again said , " Aapko pata hai na dono kaise hai. Jaan ke bhi anjaan bante hai ya sahime itte masoom hai pata hi nahi chalta. Par fir kabhi kabhi sochta hoon. Hum sahi to kar rahe na ?" She asked the last question looking towards her old husband. " Yakeen karo , Daya ko Shreya se behatar aur Shreya ko Daya se behtar koi nahi milega !" The man replied confidently. " Hmm...Kitne din lagte hai pata nahi par ek pehel toh kar di hai humne !" The lady said.
The old man laughed , " Sabr rakho ! Sabr karo. Kuch rishte Aise bhi hote , Sirf ek khoobsurat din ke liye mahino intezaar me bitaye jate hai."
